FULL BUILD HASEGAWA 1/72 LOCKHEED P-3C ORION
HASEGAWA 1/72 LOCKHEED P-3C ORION “VP-40 FIGHTING MARLINS”
Hi guys,
Sorry the full build video took a while to be uploaded. So much was happening with the pandemic around.
Overall I really enjoyed building this kit. Despite the old moulding and raised panel lines, it’s still a solid kit. The kit was built pretty much out of the box with only some rivet details added on the wings. I chose the USN high vis scheme over the RCAF because of the Fighting Marlins’ awesome tail art. The kit’s fitting was not perfect, but it was still good considering it’s age. Enjoy the video and happy modelling!

PREVIEW HASEGAWA 1/72 LOCKHEED P-3C ORION
HASEGAWA 1/72 LOCKHEED P-3C ORION “VP-40 FIGHTING MARLINS” Hi guys, This is a box preview of my upcoming build. The kit is a very old one (the original mould originated from 1979). The kit that I had in my stash was a rebox version released in 2005. The kit was still excellent despite being an old one. A few downsides from my opinion are the raised panel lines, lack of details in the landing ge...
FULL BUILD ITALERI 1/72 LOCKHEED F-104C STARFIGHTER
ITALERI 1/72 LOCKHEED F-104C STARFIGHTER The kit was fairly good and nice to build. I’ve decided to build the C version with the inflight refuelling probe instead of the A version. I’ve always liked the South East Asian camo, so I went ahead with the Vietnam War scheme. The decals given was for the USAF 435th Tactical Fighter Squadron with the “Smoke II” nose art. Decal were good but it was too...
FULL BUILD FREMS 1/48 AERMACCHI MB339A
1/48 AERMACCHI MB339A BY FREMS The kit was completed in the colours of the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF)/Tentera Udara DiRaja Malaysia (TUDM). The build was fairly straightforward and the fit was amazing. FREMS managed to replicate the actual aircraft very accurately. Cement : Tamiya Extra Thin, Revell Contacta Professional Paint : Tamiya acrylic, Vallejo acrylic, Vallejo primer Tools : Gene...
Nice build. Been thinking about getting this kit (because of more detail compared to my 1/114 scale build), though I may need to see if there are more decals available, because the fact that this kit is missing decals for the wall of circuit breakers around the crew chief (I was a P-3C engine mechanic in the early 2000's, VP-30 and VP-45). You also gave me a few ideas for the F-14 I am working on. Good work.
That sir is a truly excellent build, you are to be congratulated on what you have achieved with this very good but old kit, yoh also have yourself another subscrber, best regards from Australia, Les
Very nice Seamus
Nice build, but the main landing gear as represented by Italeri is highly inacurate. and on the ground without someoe in the cockpit the F104 brakes are always closed , Hasegawa representation of the F104G are more accurate in general specialy in regard of the main landing gear.
amazing look ... amazing repaint
3:37 what custom color mix red orange?
Chair
And the wing tip
32:59 what propeller paint cone
Great build!! I was in VP-40, a buddy of mine and myself painted the huge Marlin tail flash on A/C 913. Its actually my phones lock screen picture. Great build!!
I wish more people would see this video! I went inside an Aurora a short while ago during an Air Cadet trip, it was amazing. Like falling in love with aviation all over again.
Salut my friend super aero super video subscribe subscribe
My one time years ago on an Orion I was greeted by a bartles and James poster on the galley door
Very Nicely done.
Horrend
Great result from a pretty iffy kit. The forward fuselage and tanks are much too slender. Your beautiful camo hides the defects very well.
Do you sell this?i really want to buy one
Our P-3 Orion planes have just retired to make way for the P-8 Posiedon planes.. cheers from NZ👍✈️🇳🇿
I’m blown away with the incredible job you did with this model! One thing that would would have been super cool is if you added the rubber brake lines to back of the main landing gear down at the wheels.
Beautiful great job
Recently joined your channel. And recently got back into building models. Love your videos

Who doesn't love the starfighter? A beautiful model produced using some very imaginative airbrushing. But, no filler for the wing roots, canopy and intakes? C'mon...
Great build! What's the model of the small brush used to pain the seat and cockpit elements?
Weight on wheels not only flattens the bottom of the tires it also compresses the sidewall of them. Sanding the bottom flat doesnt make it look like you have low pressure tires, it just looks like you have flat tires.
Very nice Zipper!
why don't your models have how many pieces in each kit, it's really frustrating
Great job 👏 !!
Beautiful build. And I just noticed my "thumbs up" is the 777th. Like the airplane. lol...
This has to be a re-pop of the old ESCI Starfighter kit, the cockpit gives it away! It builds up fairly well and Italeri has much nicer decals then the original boxing.
Right you are
Absolutely beautiful, great work.
An extremely harmful video that shows that the author does not at all understand the essence of most of the modeling techniques used. The result was expected. I would like to wish the author to learn how to simply carefully assemble and paint the models.
Thanks for the feedback. As I said in my page, I’m not a pro modeller. Simply posting videos here to share my love for building models and as you can see, I did not label my videos as tutorial or how to. As I can see from your youtube profile, you just created your profile a day ago. So I’m looking forward to see you share a build or two and maybe perhaps learn from someone as good as you. All that said and done, I am proud of all the models I’ve built including the ones since I was a little boy. That helped me spark my passion for aviation and made me an airline pilot I am today. Looking forward to learn from you.
Great build mate, just wondering when you say add white color to base color , what sort of ratio you use? Cheers
I’d say 3:1 ratio is a good place to start. 3 parts base + 1 part white. Then you sort of adjust from there depending on how weathered you want your model to look.
@@Boxplanes thanks bud... will give it a go...absolutely loved the final look and nam camo...
Cheers mate. Happy modelling.
Nice! Any chance you’ll build a P-8?
Thanks. I’d love to. Hopefully I’ll come across a 1:144 Poseidon. Hasegawa’s 1:200 is a bit too small to my liking.
@@Boxplanes Yeah, P-8 is my favorite plane. So clean.
The time and extra effort in adding the riveting really pops and makes a huge difference - nice work
Thanks. Shows exactly how much extra time I had during last year’s lockdown. 😅
Loved the weathering and wear detailing. Built that one about 2 years ago, but not to your level, still looks good, but I may have to do another.
Thank you for your kind words. I might have to do another in a different paint scheme too 😅.
Wonderful job!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷😉
Thank you! 👍🏻
Nice👍
Thanks 👍🏻
Can't wait to start mine
Enjoy tuan. Seronok kit ni
Wow! Thank you for this video of the Mighty Hunter! I flew this beauty with 320 Squadron of the Royal Netherlands Navy in the 1990's and love seeing back all the details in your model. Really an amazing job. One day I will try to build one myself, but after seeing this video... :-(
I envy you. I’d love to fly one of these beauty myself. Thanks for watching!
I know the feeling. I’ve been modeling on and of since 1989. I don’t think I can get close to this finished model aircraft.
Keep it up brader. Steady lah kitak pasang belon! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Tq support brader 👍🏻
Wow! Looks like a plane straight from NAS Whidbey Island.
Thanks mate!
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👌👀perfeito!!!!
Thank you!
Sou colecionador nesta escala! ✌
This scale is perfect for big planes!
It’s great to see someone tackling these old kits. Great job, keep up the good work!
Thank you for your kind words. Happy modelling!
It really pisses me off when a model company can design a really nice kit, then not even give correct weight for nose weight. Hasegawa has a reputation of making nice kits, but this kind of gross error makes one wonder what other mistakes they made. The only thing worse is when a company omits the info completely. It must be some national secret or something. You, sir, did a really nice job on this kit. Too bad Hasegawa didn't uphold their end of the bargain.
Thanks buddy. Yeah, you’re spot on. But I’m giving Hasegawa the benefit of doubt since this is an old kit. But you’re right, wouldn’t hurt to alter the instructions a bit. Like you said, some brands are worse by omitting the info altogether. Happy modelling!
Ha! Nice paintjob at the APU exhaust. 😄✌
Thanks!
I'm very impressed. Great job. Well done sir.
Thanks for watching sir!
