Today we talk about the notion that the Classic 350 is underpowered. Here are five points to consider why the Royal Enfield Classic 350 Reborn is adequately powered, rather than underpowered: 1. Torque-Focused Engine: The 349cc engine prioritizes torque over top-end power. This translates to strong low- and mid-range grunt, which is ideal for city riding and relaxed cruising. 2. It's a bit late now, but when I did mine I put a spade shovel under the rear tire and then pushed on it with my foot to raise the swingarm into place for the new shocks. I didn't have to mess with the fender bolts, though. Thank you for the video!

    Nice job I have a classic with similar mods and hit 90 on mine but wasn’t running GPS to verify it. Why do the 410 over the 500 BBK?

    • @thegilamonsterrides
      @thegilamonsterrides Месяц назад

      I think you and I have been chatting about this on Facebook? Main concern with the 500 kit is that the manufacturer of the kit states you must use 100RON fuel in it to prevent knocking or lower the compression by way of modification to the head or otherwise. 100RON is roughly the equivalent of 95 octane in the US. I don't have access to that nor do I want to deal with using octane boosters all the time. However, Baxter Cycles just did a 500 kit on a Hunter and didn't seem to have issues with 91 octane. That bike did have to be started with the bike rolled to just past TDC. The starter had issues with full compression. Since my Classic 350 is close to being a daily rider, I chose to get the 410 kit and not have to worry about those issues.

    I have a 2023 Classic 350. I initially installed the DNA air filter & cover, the Fuelx Lite, and a Red Rooster exhaust. The change in performance was noticeable and I love the sound. I later installed the Kent cam. Didn't seem there was much of an improvement. Hmm... I live in the hill country of NY and the bike sometimes struggles on the longer uphill grades, requiring me to downshift. Eventually I plan on doing a big bore kit, but wondering if maybe some other electronic upgrades would help. Thoughts?

    • @thegilamonsterrides
      @thegilamonsterrides Месяц назад

      Hmmm you made me really think about this one. I don't see hills being a problem with power or fueling, hills are about gearing. I have to downshift on hills to some extent no matter what bike I'm riding or it's HP/torque figures. Top gear in almost any manual transmission is not meant for long (especially steep) hills. A bigger bore may help a little bit not as much as if we could increase the stroke of these bikes, increased stroke = more torque.

    • @thegilamonsterrides
      @thegilamonsterrides Месяц назад

      Thinking about it more though, I do feel like since I've done the mods I'm less likely to downshift on certain hills or I may make it up the hill farther before needing to, so the increased air flow and fueling definitely helps.

    • @strombuck
      @strombuck Месяц назад

      Thanks for your reply. I think going forward, I'm just going to do the big bore kit and upgrade to the fuelx-pro+. See how that goes. Avoid ecu upgrades for the time being. This bike is a joy to ride. Its my scooting about and back roads cruiser. I don't need a lot of speed, so it being Speed limited isn't an issue. And yeah, I hear why put that money into it, buy a bigger cc bike. I could, but it wouldn't be the same. I like this bike, its just a underpowered. Anyway, ill be looking forward to seeing your future upgrades.

    My new Bullet 350 has done just 600kms, already I have fitted the fx pro +, set at 7, my AFR is 13.6 to 14.1. I have removed the air filter cover completely and just using the stock air filter, mounted an Indori Muffler and decat pipe. Engine is loosening up nicely and revs freely, too early for a speed test yet but results so far are promising, Dyno run in the new year and then the 411 and HMC Camshaft. If you listen to all the mods that have been added to 350's, Pro plus, exhaust, air filter, camshaft, it's still only knocking 80mph, and there's loads of rev left in it. The only consideration is, how good are those valve springs, I reckon mapped properly it'll pull an easy 90mph when required.... And like any fast four stroke engine, it's the up and down bits you have to be careful with, valves and springs.... I had a 350 XL Honda engine in a grass bike, it would pull a ton easy..... Why are you using the Fuel X AND the Powertronics together

    • @thegilamonsterrides
      @thegilamonsterrides 2 месяца назад

      That's an awesome question Richard, they do seem like they'd overlap in duties right? This is from their FAQs page: "FuelX is a fuel optimizer which is not majorly into improving the performance of the motorcycle instead it focuses on refining and enhancing the motor to ensure it runs smooth and happy PowerTRONIC is a piggyback ECU, its major role is to improves the over all performance of the motorcycle by controlling fueling and ignition" "Will FuelX need PowerTRONIC ECU to function? No! FuelX is designed to run with or witout PowerTRONIC. FuelX can be used as a standalone module and also in conjunction with PowerTRONIC ECU We recommend you to use both FuelX and PowerTRONIC for better results by having a proper balance between performance and refinement " I could have simply gone with the Powertronics, but I had bought the Fuel X Pro Plus first. Then Race Dynamics had a good sale on the Powertronics. I'd like to be able to show the people who watch this channel if the claims in the company's FAQs seem true or not. I also go more into this subject in the performance show and tell episode I released a few weeks ago.

I find it great for my needs here in N.Spain where there is a mix of roads leading to mountains, some dual carriageways and motorways. It is absolutely fine on all of the above situations. When entering a motorway 'Autovia' I wind it up in third gear, wind it up again in fourth gear and then sit at 110kph. The limit here is 120kph. The problem is the wind blast, not the bike! I bloody love this machine! I do love the 350 classic though!!!

    Shame it would cost too much to ship Ethel my Red and Chrome classic Enfield over. That looks a sweet ride, my friend.

      Thanks Lee! That reminds me of a Kiwi couple that shipped their Honda Groms to the US to ride across the entire country. It was a really inspiring RUclips series.

    There is a bigger classic now, as you say unfortunately it is not a big single.

      Indeed, I kinda like the Classic 650 but I still just see it as a Classy Shotgun.

      How's the road been? I need to install the decat exhaust this weekend, got all the electrics in this past weekend. Then I need to go for some shake down riding.

      I agree and disagree with you. I think that all depends on your needs and circumstances. By and large I think there's no need really. For cities and two lane highways, it's just fine. Plenty of people have done rather long touring trips on them without issue. That said, I'm attempting to add about ten extra horses to mine. We'll see if I'm successful.

    Absolute gorgeous bike. Wish I had a motorcycle permit. The 350 classic would be an instant buy. 😊

    I have a Classic 350 - Halcyon Green. It is heavy, it is slow, its handling is neutral (at best), the speedometer is crap, the brakes are wooden, it has virtually no modern technological features - it is my favorite motorcycle of all time. There is NOTHING ELSE that compares to the Royal Enfield Classic 350. One may find motorcycles that are faster, better handling, more comfortable (probably not, though), or feature many more features, but the Classic 350 is the apogee of a manufacturer's achievements. I've been riding for 40 years. Nothing else even comes close to this motorcycle. Thank you for the video! FG Rides in Pennsylvania, USA

    Love my Classic 350. I previously owned a Genuine G400. If you want something more fun to ride, check out the G400. Both are retro styled small displacement singles, but it's amazing just how different the ride is. The RE350 is very refined and loves a nice cruise on a country road. The G400 is a lot more fun to ride and feels like it wants to take on some terrain. I might even prefer to the Himalayan because it is so light weight.

      Wow, thanks for sharing that. I hadn't heard of Genuine before, but I do know the Honda is based on. That's super cool. With me owning an Interceptor already it might be a little redundant for me to pick up a Genuine, but I do like it.
