My IAC doesn’t click?
Thanks and also how did the GPI work for you in the long run ?
@@dwayneherbert5219 great I used blue ice coolant the bike used to run 220+ on a hot day. Now it never gets over 205
Thanks for your suggestion, I could really use a picture of the wiring harness still attached to back of alternator .
Thanks
What if you dont hear the iac
Where are you located and a friend needs help replacing the timing belt on his Honda trike like yours.
Montana
I just picked up a tbi 4.3L the idle screw cap is still on place. But I've got a idle of about 1500/1700.
So that’s probably the problem with my 1992 Silverado 6.0; the engine was replaced with a rebuilt one and now the idle surges and it shuts off at times . I checked the Egr, vacuum leaks and even changed the ignition module because it feels a little rough but still o fix. Thank you for sharing I will try to adjust the idle tomorrow
Did you use the factory ecu to the truck?
What if the iac isn’t making that noise ?
You got a handful of other things to fix before you worry about installing a high idle…
The least u can do is actually show what ur doing
Before ding this idle speed adjustment you need to turn the a/c on so that your engine will have enough idle rpm speed to not stall at red lights while using the a/c
Sure belt change every 2yrs isn't correct? Correct me if I'm wrong I thought it was 100k or 10yrs?
First time you have one of these belts break while you’re riding you’ll change it every two years if you live through it
@RichardCraniumMT thanks for the sarcasm. I'm simply asking what the source of that information is. I've spoken to several people who have and do own 1500cc Wings Inc thousands of comments on goldwing docs and no one is saying replace belts every 2yrs regardless of mileage.
@@9121646 timing belt manufacturers suggested 2 year 80,000mile replacement intervals
@@RCMTAdventures Is that in the Honda service book interval too?
@@9121646 I sold that bike about three or four years ago and the book went with it unfortunately, to my recollection it was 10 years 100,000 miles.
Did you ever do a video on the tps? And how to adjust it
5th gear explodes in these transmission. very common problem. on second rebuild they only last for about 20k miles.
There is a solution to this problem it was a updated spacer or gear. Since rebuilding I’ve had no problem problems
Would have been cool to see it actually work
I’d prefer the lowest idle possible without stalling after deceleration
Let your oil warm up and flow for at least 2 mins before you hit that high idle. Starting the truck and going high idle that fast isn’t good.
Dude...who heck did all that wiring under hiid and under dash...looks like they got lost...lmao
Did it work?
yep problem solved
I just fixed my wing, turn key and nothing no lights at all. Replaced 4 circuit breakers and nothing. Replaced several fuses and nothing, went back over to the battery side and the starter solenoid has a 30 amp fuse on it. Tried to pull the connection off and it was really stuck on there. Had to pry it off with a flat blade screw driver, and there was my problem. The fuse was loose and you could tell it had got hot and started melting a little at the plug into the solenoid . So I tightened up the clips that held the fuse in place, put new fuse back in, it's tighter than it was. Hit the key and bam lights are on and started it I'm a happy camper once again :) did order a new solenoid and pig tail. Gonna go ahead and change it, the bling wing and I r back on the road again
Right on. I like that mercury doesn't bounce. I'll get some. Thanks for the tip👍🇨🇦
I know this is 5 years old but if your still on can you tell me how to test the alternator? Mines showing 11.6 output. I don't know what to check on them. Thanks.
No music, no graphics, no childish introduction, straight to the point, this is the best video I have seen so far on timing belt replacement and adjustment. I sold my Honda GL 1800 because I thought it was boring. Perfect, but it bothers exciting as a Toyota Corolla. Just as reliable, just as perfect, and just as interesting. so I’m checking out this video because A 95 GL 1500 is for sale near me. It looks very good, and I was concerned about timing belt replacement.. I think the GL 1500 is the best looking Goldwing ever made.. I don’t like the 1800s, especially the 2018-2022 version.. they seem to be trying to make it a replacement for the ST 1300 sport touring machine rather than hey big roomie rolling lazy boy which is what I want.. I want a big slashslow to rotate soft ride large capacity bags in trunk machine that has a lot of weight to it for the good ride.. If the timing belt fails on these machines, do the Pistons smoke the valves? Thank you
I’ve been told if the belt breaks the crank can lock up so if you don’t get to the clutch fast enough you could crash
Clinton Green GREAT JOB!
Where do you connect the lead wires to from the Mac meter to???
Found your channel brother... my alternator just went out on my 97 with only 22k miles..... right at the start of the season. ride safe!!!
Where is the neural switch located?
Don't think we didn't catch Rollin Stoned on the radio🤘🤘
Where do you connect the multimeter from?
Did you ever find out where it connected?
How do I get the to screw to adjust it ? Mine has a metal nipple plate over that spot idles around 550 but bogs out a lot here lately
Drill out the plate it’s a soft plug about .015 thick
@@RCMTAdventures yea I felt stupid after I actually looked lol
Which wire do you have it running to in the back of the switch panel for the lights?
Wow that sounded sweet when you got done with setting the idle. i'm not sure if I needed a new distributor in my 92 astro but now it's got one. I'm going to do this and then the base timing thanks to you help.
So what position was key in when jumper wire was put into A/B? Was transmission in park or neutral? After adjusting idle screw to desired RPM what's the order of diss/reconnect and battery diss/reconnect? Is there a final key off/on sequence to finalize?
Key off insert jumper. Transmission in park or neutral. After adjustment key off remove jumper. No need to battery disconnect or any other sequence
Thank You Thank You, you saved me $180.00 step by step and it fixed my Vehicle. Well explained 👏
Awesome glad it helped
where did you hook your device to get the rpm readings? and whats that device?
It’s a RPM clamp around the spark plug wire hooked to a Mac tools EM 710 multimeter
Seriously. You’re going to show us how to adjust base idle and then you don’t show us the location of the f’n screw to adjust it???
I know it's two years old but he did. He said they backed the screw all the way out.
Wow. I love how you are straight up about meets or exceeds OEM. I like people that say it like it is. Great video
A lot of Honda purests hate anything other than OEM parts.
@@RCMTAdventures yeah some parts are ok. Depending on what you are repairing.
Does anyone know where he connected the multimeter?
I have a spark plug wire clamp that hooks to my meter like a timing light and gives me rpm
Didn't sound like it liked that start up
If the rear went, you'd probably want to replace the front as well
Some people have the patience to do big jobs like this. I don’t have the time or the patience for that extensive work. I can change the oil and filter but that’s about it. I’d find a old bike mechanic and let him do all of that. That’s just me ….. just saying
That's THE video i was looking for. Thank you so much
Glad it helped
What if you don’t have a screw
Very few don’t have a screw it’s usually hidden behind a soft plug
Those top two bell housing bolts tho....
Yeah there a good time. A three foot extension and a wable adapter usually gets it done
Got today the same issue on a goldwing, how did you solve the problem?
Ended up cutting the switch open and cleaned the contacts used hot glue to put it back together and it worked after that
Mine has no spark at all.. dealer says my comuter.. is this possible.. every one tells me the computers never fail in these bikes
Gates T275 belts
You sir are a life saver 😆
It isn’t a easy job good luck
@@RCMTAdventures we’ve done plenty of heater cores. Alldata didn’t show the bolts there inside the Apillars
How long did you run this ?
The video was posted 2years ago and it’s still going strong
