The pitfalls of lighting with LED Walls
Let's talk about LED walls and why they might not always be the best choice for lighting. While LED walls have come a long way, there are still some challenges to consider.
In this next episode of The Science, we’ll explore three key factors:
00:18 - Color Rendition
01:05 - Output
01:57 - Pixelation
Tune in as we reveal how the highly pixelated and color correct Rainbow 2 and Double Rainbows are able to fill the gap between volume walls and traditional lighting. And you know what that means? No more lobster lighting!

This is not the Image Based Lighting you're looking for *waves hand* I was trying to find information on the 3D rendering technique. It's very similar, but instead of using lamps in the real world it uses cube maps in a virtual world. Interesting video anyway.
Don’t understand yet how to connect my light with the computer?
Yeeey🎉❤🎉❤
I purchased the impact D 1000 and im getting flicker. Can you please provide a recommended dimmer?
Hope that man's face wasn't a result of the product. Light the woods on fire? I'm turned off twice in one video of a product I thought I wanted
I’m having trouble decompressing the zip to update my firmware on the R2. Any fix?
What app does the bluetooth connect to?
What exact dimmer did you guys use?
my question also, I purchased the impact D 1000 and im getting flicker. Can you please provide a recommended dimmer?
You are a legend 👏

Excellent episode as the all series, very high levels stuff, love it! Additionally, we can include: The minimal distance at which the inverse square law takes effect can be extended by utilizing a grid on a large surface light, for the same reasons perfectly explained in this video. This can be useful for recreating natural soft light in tight space.
Great job breaking down the key differences!! Also great seeing the various skin tones!
Love this! Very well done.
I’m still at the crab walls stage. Hoping to go full prawn quite soon! 😂
amazing!
👏
Awesome! It would be great to see more behind the scenes explaining the science to the magic!
This was awesome! I would love to see more videos like this. :) Very educational.
Does this app work with first gen rainbow tubes?
great
Love it! Was able to set up my own double rainbows yesterday to run some IBL. Already have the DP's in the Denver market excited for the possibilities!!
That's awesome to hear. Great work!
The best light is real light and then there is getting virtual image based lighting dialed in. Great job with how to get light signatures and realistic lighting out to more creatives.
awesome stuff! what software are you using for pixel mapping? what hardware?
Hey CJ, here's the list tools used in this video ▪️ Mbox Media Server ▪️ Planar CLI 1.9-M2 LED Wall ▪️ Road Hog 4 Desk ▪️ Hog4 HPU Let us know if you'd like to discuss anything else
@@QuasarScience Thanks!
siiiick episode guys! Is there a workshop I could attend or a series of videos I could watch to learn more about how to start programming IBL? I'm stepping into DMX this year and this video has me excited for all the possibilities!
Thanks! We'll soon be releasing another episode of The Science which is dedicated to pixel mapping for IBL. Watch this space :)
@@QuasarScience Looking forward to it! I want to bring this kind of tech to the Denver market!!

Great! 😊😊. When Is This App Suppose To Be Coming Out?
Excellent Video. Great job, Tim and team. 🔥
Great job explaining the intricacies of the inverse square law!
Thanks for being the leader in our science! Excellent episode.
This is SUPER helpful and well down. Thanks guys!!
Hey Tim! I remember sitting through a presentation of yours at Cinegear in 2019 I think. You talked to me about spectral fingerprints and it completely changed how I light things. So thank you for finally putting it on video form. I remember that it was part of a presentation on a new diode from Quasar that removed the blue spike from the spectrum. How is the development going on that diode?
android eventually?
Finally! Why only 7? Regularly use more with Sidius Link
yeah foreal, why one 7???
LFG 🎉
👌
Thanks for making this video!
Great video and innovation!
This was great, thank you Tim! Having had a class with you at afi this year and watching this type of content really helps solidify the knowledge ❤
Thank you for putting this together! Great link to share with people.
Loving this. Really loving the clear explanation and visual examples. Well done Tim.

I would like all the Science, yes please!
nice tech
Let's get these over in Toronto!
Wish you didn't use the onboard camera light to see what it would've looked like with just the product doing the work.
The on board camera light is also a Q-Lion!!
wow … you are making so much money from old technology
Cool lights, what's the EU price ?
