    I loved when you mentioned motivation. Your videos and others alike gets me fired up with motivation to start. Can you share how you stay motivated. Yo-yo dieting is stressful knowing you can get the weight off, but only keep it off for a year or so.

      @@Royyamada Excessively tracking, not calories but activities. Like, Drinking half gallon of water✔️ Exercise✔️ stretched✔️ Meditate✔️ so on and so on. It helps to track but I would like to just live and not track every day of my life. Once I stop tracking.. that’s when I go down hill🤧

      @B.A.Y.Be.Bachata I think the method I talked about in the video is perfect for you it sounds like. Keeping tabs on things with frequent weigh ins so you know when to adjust. And also, having some basics in place and keeping that the same. It gives you some structure without needing to track. And whenever you want to dial things in you can track. Does that make sense?

    Brother like i am 220 pounds my goal body weight is 175 pounds and i multiplyed goal body weight to 12 and i am watinf 1980 calories. Now what will i do if i stopped getting results how will i know that its time for me to drop calories and how much?? Or will i lose till 175 pounds and then stop losing fat?? Confused please help me

      Hey what’s up, good question. Stick to those calories until you hit a true plateau. You’re going to need to be honest with yourself with this one. If you are truly eating 1980 calories and you are not progressing (no drop on the scale, no body measurement drops, no progress seen on progress photos) then I would drop cals. But that’s only if you are being consistent with hitting those calories and doing your activity. I wouldn’t worry about that until you get there anyways, you don’t want to psych yourself out before you even get started. You can always reach out as you have questions or come up on roadblocks. I’m excited for you!

That’s the core of everything. And you might also find calorie cycling works for you in this season of life but later on maybe that will change, and that’s okay. 😌 How are things going for you now?

      @Royyamada This will be my first week calorie cycling hence me finding your video 😆 Restricting more on weekdays is a breeze though. I'm a stay at home, homeschooling mom of 3 so there's always something to do. There's just enough time for my workouts and I usually average between 11,000- 14,000 steps. On the weekend I look forward to my air fryer wings and turkey burgers with those calories! 😄

      Hey, on your diary swipe left on the BBQ chicken thigh entry and you’ll be able to delete it. From there just find the correct item and add that one in. 😌

      Free app does not give you weekly averages based on setting a certain day of the week. Only rolling 7 day averages. Plus I believe MFP premium is cheaper than Cronometer premium.

    Always amazing advice! My cardio of choice was running but as I got older my knee told me to stop. Back then, I never worked up to running, I just ran. Do you think walking for a few months before incorporating 30-50min runs would reduce injuries; and get me running again? I miss the joy from running but the pain that came with it ultimately made me stop.

      Try handling it this was and see if it works for you. Make sure to pair your craving item WITH your actual meals. And make sure to not having them when you’re hungry or when you haven’t eaten your whole meals yet. This will help you control your portions better while still allowing you to work on building a healthy relationship with food. It’s like a relationship with a person, you can’t work on developing a good relationship without working on it slowly and over time. What do you think about this? Is that realistic for you to try?

    I like your approach. My goal weight is 110 lbs. I’m 84 yrs old. I weig 117 lbs. atte moment. Wats an easy way to track? After you get your numbers. Do you need to eat all your daily calories

      Hey Frances, I’m glad you resonated with this. The best way to track this is by using a food tracking app to log in your food so you can hit your calories and protein if you’re doing that. Here is a video I did on the food app I recommend: ruclips.net/video/SJ7sq1n0hck/видео.htmlsi=kDOGxVsVkSrhEha5 As far as your question, I would try to hit your goal within a range of 100. So if your number came out to 1300 calories I would hit between 1200-1400 calories per day. I want to add a side note for you, be intentional with making sure to eat fruits and veggies, and to make it a point to eat enough protein as well, that’s especially important with your age. I want to make sure you’re getting enough good nutrients as possible, which being in a calorie deficit makes a bit harder.

      That’s okay, start with body weight squats and go as deep as you can. If that’s still a struggle and you need a bit more stability. Try out box squats, they are like regular squats but you’re doing them from sitting on a box or a chair if you’re doing it at home.

      That’s essentially what I’m saying, here as best as I can in a short video. Using something like reps in reserve (RIR) or Rate of perceived exertion (RPE) is a great way to progressively overload. But having reps ranges to hit help you pick weights so that you can more accurately track your strength gains over time.

    What I do is that if I can do 2 sets of 12 in a row I increase the weight

      That’s progressive overload, that’s why I like having rep ranges. I’ll give you an example, I’ll do 3 sets of 8-12 reps, over the weeks I’ll use the same weight and work my way up the rep range, then once I’m at 12 I’ll go up in weight.

      If you get the same number of reps with the same weight on two consecutive sets you didn't train hard enough on the first one. You should get weaker set by set.

      No necessarily all the time, if you’re training to failure or even past failure with partial reps you could be more fatigued. If you’re training 1-3 reps shy of failure you could still do the same amount of sets. Plus you could be leaving gains on the table if you aren’t resting enough before your next set.

    Wanted to make this simple for you, drop your questions :) To build muscle you need to do some for of resistance training. Ideally 1-2 reps close to failure. To lose body fat you need to put yourself in a calorie deficit. If you need a simple calorie calculator comment “CALORIE” and I’ll send you one. If you want to have better cardiovascular health, do some cardio. It doesn’t have to be on the bike, anything that gets the heart rate up. And if you’re barely making it through the day and you’re low on energy, stop reaching for the coffee or the energy drinks all the time and get to sleep.

    Hi when I calculate and try to put in carb manager since I’m trying to loose weight it drops my calories automatically from 1560 to 1227

      Hey, I've never used that app before, but I downloaded it and I figured out how to adjust that for you. To change your calorie goal in the app. 1. Go to the Daily Log tab 2. Click the pencil icon next to "MY Macros" 3. At the top of that page click the pencil and paper icon next to your calorie goal 4. press submit, then scroll to the bottom of that page and press apply macros.

      The app seems to be a bit complicated, but if you're used to using it and you can navigate through it easily I would just stick with that. Does that help?
