Thanks! Unfortunately I don’t believe you can use PayPal on Gumroad, but it is possible to use a credit/debit card and it is widely used/reputable site.

Thanks! It's quite a convoluted series of patches and there are certainly some bits of patching I could make much more efficient nowadays, as I began developing it way back in 2013. It's generally quite stable though. The touchscreen interface(s) (up to 16 for multiple users) communicate with the M4L patches via OSC. One of the more complicated things to achieve was allowing multiple separate users to record independently of one another into the same Live set. You basically need to always have session record enabled and then use individual track arm buttons to act as record buttons. Inspiration for the Markovian generative algorithms was taken from a really great website that no longer exists, algorithmiccomposer.com. The algorithm for melodic transformation within MIDI clips is totally bespoke and, again, quite a complicated thing to design to ensure notes don't overlap to a huge extent, etc. I'm sure there are parts of that I could pull off more successfully nowadays as well. I've published a paper about it so you can read more t.co/ObvKpakDT1 if you are interested. It was also the basis of my PhD research and there are extensive appendices that document exactly how key elements of the patch work so, if you are really interested (it's likely not going to be an enjoyable read), you can find that at usir.salford.ac.uk/id/eprint/42132/1/GMeikle%20PhD%20Thesis%20[post%20corrections-final%20edit-complete-2017].pdf. Some of the patching has been improved since then so not everything in the appendices is reflective of the actual state of the patching within the M4L devices nowadays.
