I'm having a deja` vu moment. I've heard these words before, but from different authors. When it comes to true wisdom, we all agree about what's really useful for humanity. Thank you! I agree: our reaction to people and events makes our lives better or worse.

Speaking from experience, too much stoicism will lead to lack of sweetness. Be carefully.

I live alone in a small room here in a jungle city of manila. Every time i feel exhausted in my small room i am forced to go to mall nearby. This mall has karaoke room that many toxic people hanged out. I have no other near place to go. These toxic people think they are smart and other people is dumb. They want to trick everyone.

Why does the “drama king’s” actions become more extreme as they age (70 YO)?? Possibly, never dealt with past childhood traumas?? So much denial that they appear delusional? Any thoughts are appreciated.

The Envious: Someone who is jealous of your success or happiness. Envy can lead to harmful actions, and Stoics encourage contentment and gratitude.

These are useful ideas. But, there are obvious uses of terms that are modern and therefore not traceable to authentic writings on stoicism. That's OK, as long as watchers know what they are getting.

I think that what is missing from this video and can be really useful is to define a toxic person . This days people using this expression a lot and throw it as an excuse for any failed relationship of any type . But what really is a toxic person ? And of course how can we recognise them ? For me personally the definition of a toxic person is that person that making me feel bad when I interact with . Honestly that is it for me , it does not matter that someone wants me good or bad i interact with you and you make me feel worse than before our interaction you are toxic for me . I think that most of the toxic people don't even realise they are toxic , for example you have a friend and he/she went through a divorce and now can only talk about what happen for them = toxic , you have a relative or friend that always has an opinion about what you should do = toxic , you got a friend that always talking about how much money or love success got = toxic . I think that you don't have to be negative to be toxic I think that is enough not to resonate with a person to be toxic for that one .

I am living in an ASSISTED LIVING PLACE. MY ROOMATE IS A CONTROL FREAK, OCD, SHE WAS ALONE FOR A WEEK BEFORE I CAME AND SHE CONTROLS EVERYTHING IN THE ROOM AS IF IT IS HER OWN ROOM. SHE REFUSES TO PUT THE AC ON, WILL NOT LET ME USE THE PRIVACY CURTAIN BC IT BLOCKS HER VIEW OF THE HALLWAY… I COULD GO ON AND ON… SHE BOSSES ME AROUND AS IF I AM A 2 yr old and she is a religious fanatic and preaches to me non stop. There really is not much I can do about it. In many ways I like her , but I cannot live with her. She is a TYRANT.
