Mathews paid off the PSE guy to take a dive. Thanks for taking us along guys!
LOL Thanks for watching
Interesting speed test, shot these 2 bows at 28” with a 435 grain arrow and the Hoyt was 9 fps faster!
I think they had the PSE draw length set longer. So the Hoyt is prob faster
These new archery guys start shooting for less than a year and now they are experts… mega meats are not horrible but there are way better made mechanicals out there thag are a lot more high quality. And I get the shot is all about placement, but good luck when ur arrow setup hits some hard bone with that super light set up and that giant 3 blade head you will be screwed when you hit bone that arrow is breaking for sure. Ur allowed your own opinions on everything but people watching need to understand this guy is a new archer and does not have much real experience. Shooting 300 fps is not worth it if you gotta shoot 370 grain arrows. I have killed a lot of deer with a bow and trust me speed is nice but not everything. Especially for short draw guys.
Funny comment...Please let me know where I claim I am an Expert? What a troll.
If not for your support, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I really appreciate it.❤❤
People get too hung up on speed. You’re better off using a bow you can be very comfortable and in control of. It needs to be an enjoyable experience not a chore to go out and shoot. Of course, when you are young and strong it might not matter too much.
So this shop charges $100 to test shoot a bow?
@@bullet225ho No…where did you get that idea? It’s completely free.
@@TheNewBowunter There's a big 8.5 x 11 sign on the outside of that little cubicle that you shot in
@ That applies if you purchased a bow elsewhere…and then have them set it up for you.
@@TheNewBowunter That doesn't really seem what that sign implies....it states "$100 fee for test shooting" "Fee will be applied to cost of bow" (within 30 days) How could someone not take it as they are charging $100 to test fire a bow....if you buy said bow within 30 days you get your 100 bucks applied to price of bow. Explain the bow bought somewhere else and tuning about that sign
@ All I can say for certain is that they have never charged me.
Draw length is way to long and grip on the bow is improper, I think you'd be a little better off saving your dollars ,and getting your bows properly set up. And working through some form issues. I'd be more then happy to help you out . Reach out anytime Bergy Bowsmith on all platforms. I can promise you that if that shop is letting you shoot that draw length that the bow isn't tuned properly
I know I dont have the best form for sure..Been shooting 11 months now. But I competed in 2 tournaments..Got 3rd and 2nd. So at least my arrows are going pretty much where I want. LOL Where are you located?
@TheNewBowunter I'm located in SE MN but I tune bows and help archers from all over the country. Getting fieldtips to hit together doesn't mean your arrows are flying true. your bow can be grossly out of tune and still group with fieldtips it's the broadheads for hunting that is gonna be a issue.
To be honest I feel You should do a round on the Mach30 also after those to. I think the difference is not big enough to upgrade from 30 :P I took a 34 in aluminium and 30 in carbon and split them by warm and cold days or the disctance I shoot at. Not sure if RX or M33 makes so big difference from M30 which You had already got used to.
You could be right...But I want a spare bow anyway. And its fun trying new things. Thanks for watching.
But you left out Darton can I ask why?
@@mikereedy7157 Sure…I just prefer carbon bows.
The PSE is noticeably longer draw length, maybe an honest mistake, but that stands to reason as to why the speed is more.
Unfortunately they don’t have that machine that you can put a bow in and measure it. Would be a nice piece of equipment to have tho…I’m sure
The hard vs. extra hard are modifications to the draw stops. Softer back wall= hard / harder back wall= x hard. they work well but do not effect the cycle at all.
@@garohachigian339 That explains why I really couldn’t tell any difference. Thanks
The draw lengths are not the same it’s very clear to see. That’s why the speeds are different. It’s every bit of an inch.
@@jwild5360 They told me they set them both at 27 1/2. That’s what I asked for before we started filming
@ yes they made a mistake.
His elbow was way high when shooting that Hoyt, way short my friend!
He liked the PSE better in every way but picks the hoyt
It all came down to the hold and the shot. The hoyt was just more stable...to me anyway. Dont think anyone can go wrong with either. Thanks for watching.
The Hoyt is waaaay more stable
@ It was to me at least. lol. Thanks for watching
Awesome you guys are reviewing shorter draw length. PSE is way better bow, Hoyt are 5 years behind everyone else
😂
Love PSE but Hoyt does make a great product as well are they The Glock of the bow world?
Just came across this video. I also shoot 27 1/2 inch draw length. And I'd also guess that I'm about the same age as this gentleman. And I also prefer lighter arrows. I shoot 385 grains out of my hunting set up. Currently I shoot a PSE EVO EVL 32 and I haven't run it through a chrono. But it is smoking fast. I've been a bowhunter for a lot of years and have owned just about every brand you can think of. I've had a couple of Mathews bows, a couple of Hoyt's, an APA and a couple of Bowtechs. I'm not a brand fan boy. They all make good stuff. When I bought my current bow I had never considered a PSE. I just never liked the PSE grip. But I got a great deal on the bow and quickly became a big fan of PSE. But I'm going to be in the market for a new bow soon and these are the two I'll look at. I would say that I wish PSE and Hoyt would make their carbon bows in a 32 inch ATA. That would be at a sweet spot. I just am not a fan of the short bows. I live in NC but my daughter lives in Jacksonville. Next time I'm in north FL I'm gonna try and find this shop.
Thanks for watching. I am 59 by the way..LOL
@@TheNewBowunter close 61. I'm gonna shoot those two bows. Lotta performance at 27 1/2 which is exactly what I shoot.
@@johngarnergarner6724 Let me know what you choose. It was not a easy decision.
@@johngarnergarner6724if you like smooth, fast and easy to work on yourself, don't miss shooting the new Darton Sequal! 31", 33" and 35" axel to axel this year. 18:21
The hard and extra hard is referring to the back wall not the let off.
Two great bows but for me the grip on the Hoyt causes left and right misses. If I don't get my hand exactly the same shot to shot I will miss to the left. I have a Darton that I shoot so much better simply because of the repeatable grip. I wish Hoyt had the same grip but different strokes for different folks.
2 years deep into my Omen 33, 2 inch groups at 60 with fixed blades, 70 lbs ,309fps , 450 grns. Never owned a bow before but I think I am a repeatable GRIP😮
Did you notice the deer in the first pan shot you did ?
Hmmmm can you give me the time stamp?

@@huntercroak5551 NICE CATCH! I'm usually pretty good at seeing deer but I had to rewind it three times before I saw it. Once you find it you can't unsee that which is is clearly a deer walking slowly left-to-right with that green patch behind him.

Awesome vid and what a great event!
What bow sling our you guys using?
Make sure you get a sitting pad! The pants are great just very fragile. If you sit on rough ground or slip and slide on your rear they will rip easily.

which of the 2 has a smoother draw cycle

Good shooting - what's your arrow set up, poundage and arrow speed?
Im shooting 68 lbs, 370g arrows (red ones) in the video ..307fps..Green is 72 lbs 420g arrow 302 fps
Yea sevr here also out my Ravin r29x no problems I got the 1.5 and 1.75 and 2.0 I am going pick up few new 1.5 with bleeder blades I use different heads for different animals I ne for hogs one for coyotes another for Doe and of course one for deer but all the sevr heads have done well for me no issues period I like the beast blades and tip but I hate the aluminum ferrule so may try pack on hog or doe maybe there high to 35 a head and they claim you can reuse the head but I don’t like do that unless I can replace the blades at least it’s not like a fixed head where you can sharpen it up go again
I'm kinda curious, did you delete my comment about SAFETY? You are a new bowhunter and I made a comment that all new bow hunters and archers should hear. Shooting your bow in a back yard with homes all around you is dangerous. Any equipment malfunction (string breaks, release breaks etc.) will send an arrow flying off in any direction down range.
Man that looked like a lot of fun. I've been shooting mathews the last 5 or 6 years but I do think that PSE Mach 30 is the bow of the year. I've been afraid to walk into the local PSE pro shop for my wallets sake.
Blades on that head are trash not a fan might as well go back to rage
Like I said..these are one and done...but im ok with that based on the results.
No way ,2 for 60$ american, thats 100$ for 2 canadian, i shoot excaliber matrix 380fps and 3 inch swhacker(150grn) and im totally impressed,3 and a practice tip swhacker for 59.99 canadian and i can get replacement blades.
Yes you did.
Now I want to make smoked pork ribs. Lol
I shoot mega meats at 60 pounds using a hot axxis .I get pass throws
I honestly figured that would break all 3 blades on impact on frozen ribs.. good test though. How is that Mach 30? living up to the hype?
@@andysmith8295 Yes it does…it’s absolutely fantastic! I love it.
The UV scope housing definitely has a cool design, but the fibers are encased in a thick tinted cover. This dark covering obstructs light transmission, requiring you to turn on the light to see the pins in nearly all conditions. Seeing the pins at dawn, dusk, or under trees without the light is impossible. My unit is brand new and back in the box, and I'm selling it at a low price. Let me know if you're interested.
Nice place to get lost
I could do that everyday at 30 yards with my vxr
Welcome to the club, I feel the same wasted $800 Canadian dollars, what a disappointment...
Yes, you wasted your money. I don’t understand why the archery industry creates scope housings that try to resemble rifle scopes. Looking through an elongated tube to see your sight pins makes no sense at all. Long scope housings cause all kinds of problems, like making it harder to see your pins without adding more fiber and battery powered lights. In addition, the housing does not line up with your peep sight at full draw. Option archery sights make the most sense with their sight pins protected by a relatively narrow metal ring.
Running the dovetail in and out and getting a high quality peep with aperture sizes that you can swap out negate everything you just said. Make your equipment work for you and not you changing your form to the equipment. Unfortunately whether you like it or not, that comes at a cost.
@@James.712 A toilet paper like tube with sight pins on the other end looks cool but serves no purpose. It only creates problems. The purpose of a long tubes on sighting equipment is for housing a series of magnifying lens like rifle scopes and binoculars.
