Thanks for shooting and posting this footage, brings back some amazing memories for me as I visited NY in 1983 as a teenager with my family from the UK. Totally blew my mind! Just a small example, on arriving in NY we went to our hotel (nice but not super swanky) we decided to have a snack in the hotel's restaurant/diner, I ordered a ham sandwich and a coke, which in Bradford, UK, at that time would have been two slices of rubbery white bread smeared with a hint of margarine and a single slice of ham, maybe a bit of mustard if you were lucky and the coke would be a small plastic cup of warm liquid , one ice cube absolute tops. But Lo in this magical place called NYC a mountain of meat appeared encased in toasted bread with mayo and sauces galore, it looked like 3 meals combined, and a bucket of ice cold beverage full of crushed ice!! It was like finding the promised land!
