The gas chamber on this is an absolute nightmare. Got my hands on a tercel clone and it looks pretty good, metal and real wood. But the design of the gas chamber has a lot of flaws, it doesn't push the pin outwards the more gas you add like it does in a GBB pistol magazine, so it's extremely sensitive to touch because the pin spring alone is responsible for it. The chamber is also too long, so you need to extra gasket the pin near the rear if you don't want it leaking randomly at the back as you shoot (used a washer and a thicker gasket to fix it). The main gasket is extremely hard to find, I had to modify an old faucet gasket I found at the hardware store by sanding away at the outer diameter so it fits in the chamber and drilling a shape in the gasket for the pin head to rest on so that it seals properly. Apart from that, the hammer spring on the trigger was way too hard, and when the hammer rested on the head of the chamber, it let it slowly leak (again, because the design doesn't harden the pin to the touch the more gas it has in the chamber). Had to break that small bend in the spring so that it loosens up and that fixed it. The hammer had a dent in the shape of the pin where it hit it, that's how hard the spring and resting position was. And just as I tested it and found that everything works exactly as it should with my little upgrades, the outer guide for the three barrel mag just crumbled into my hands because the metal was poor quality and old. Added some tape but I guess I need to look for a replacement. Cool shotguns, nightmare to maintain if they get old. Last edit: Yes, the arms on the cocking mechanism are very poor quality and notorious to break too. There's some alternatives made of actual steel on some taiwan airsoft shops, if you really like the gun bite the 60$ bullet and just get those. Other people got some steel rods and milled them into shape. Mine are still holding but I'm already making replacement plans I guess.

I can't seem to figure out the purpose of the spring in the magazine tube, I don't know if I lost something but when I put the spring back in the tube it just rattles around, not pushing on anything. What is it for?

The receiver is not made of metal. It is plastic. Only the bolt, gas reservoir, extended magazine tube, the trigger and trigger guard, loading door and the front coupling ring is metal. Also, due to the way chronos work, you can’t measure an accurate FPS with multiple BBs as it can’t identify individual BBs correctly.

Can you remove the back iron sight for a scope or rail? Also can you upgrade the spring easily and if you can what would be a good one for 3.6 joules?
