Grape arbor over greenhouse: build an arbor, prune a vine, shade greenhouse, harvest grapes
This video has footage over three years (2019, 2020, 2021) showing how we built an arbor over our greenhouse to produce grapes and shade our greenhouse in the summer. The beginning of the video focuses on the building materials we used and construction of the arbor. The rest of the video shows how we pruned and trained the vine over the arbor and so it would be healthy. Finally we harvest grapes!
At the very end of the video we show our larger four post arbor with two more mature (7 year old) vines covering it and loaded with grapes.
Here's a link to details on how we build the larger arbor and a paver patio under it:

Feeding soil: replenishing nutrients for healthy garden soil without fertilizer
Просмотров 2,6 тыс.2 года назад
There's abundant life all around us, we just have to go find it. This video shows how we make use of locally available, free organic material to feed and rejuvenate our soil, replenishing nutrients with coffee grounds, brown leaves and compost. The coffee grounds we get for free at local shops who give them away and the leaves we get from our neighbors. The leaves we then mulch with a battery p...

How to Plant Fruit Trees: Don't plant too deep
Просмотров 8 тыс.3 года назад
In this video we show how to plant fruit trees and make sure that aren't planted too deep. Trees that are planted too deep are less likely to be healthy because their roots struggle to get enough oxygen. Over 70% of trees are planted too deep (from Ellen A. Vincent of Clemson University - link below). To avoid this common mistake we show in detail how to find the root flare aka root collar and ...

    So all those branches you cut off. You could propagate those by putting them in sand moist sand. And start more grapes

    It’s okay, but I think it would have been better to remove The grass so it doesn’t look like your bed is spilling out onto the sidewalk.. the black curb in the curb side is also pretty ugly.🤔

  • @OurTube_TheOriginal
    @OurTube_TheOriginal Месяц назад

    The problem with this and other videos is they should but do not start out with defining “Bud” “Cane” “Shoot” “renewal spur” …this is last years’ growth right? Well tell us how we know…rather than ask us. Arrrg. “Too thick” Why? What do you mean? What is wrong with too thick? No it doesn’t make any sense..he asks at 4:10 “If that makes sense” NO! And meanwhile fast forward footage is useless. There is no starting point about what his goal is to start with. Keeps asking if that makes sense..no dude it doesn’t.

      Greeting OurTube. As this video starts saying, for lots more detail please check out the full-length class we recorded Live on RUclips. Much of the detail can be found there, but, of course, it is a longer video. In this case we decided to provide both a short 6 minute version for those who are looking for a short video and the much longer version for those who want more detail. Hope this helps.

    We usually have a 100% coddling moth rate in our apples. Can you tell me the ideal time to place bags over apples to protect them from the worms. As soon as the blooms drop or is it better to wait until the apples start to form. We are using the similar organza mesh fruit protection bags you used which allow full sunlight through. But we want to time this perfectly so the blooms are pollinated and spent and not enough time for moths to have laid eggs. Can you provide some guidance to me on this. thanks
