LOL, part on a level surface - shows Spyder on ground and level. The very next shot shows the Spyder on stands. Simplification with no care for the headaches you will introduce the home mechanic.....must be a ploy to get them to think that service is easy to help sales only to have to get frustrated and go to the dealer when the reality doesn't match the idea sold by BRP...

Do you need to remove the brake fluid reservoir to change the filter? Some people say yes but it looks like you did not. Why must you check the oil level within two minutes of stopping the engine? I've always checked my oil (cars, trucks, motorcycles, riding mowers, etc.) after the vehicle has sat overnight.

So much over simplification going on in this video....also some contradicting information like "never let the reservoir hang by the hoses, but then puts ties down the reservoir putting more pressure on the hoses than just leaving it there and moving as required.

"Check and clean the oil filter cavity to remove any contaminants." Sure. Yeah. OK. I'll just grab my Mark III cavity cleaner and clean away..... It is "instructions" like this, also found throughout the "User's Manual" that drive me nuts. Also, it is obvious the Spyder in the video is up on jacks yet nowhere in the User's Manual are instructions on jacing, location of hard points, etc. Sorry Can Am, you have a great vehicle in the Spyder but so far, in my 6 months of ownership, you get a D Minus in customer support.

The manual states 15 nm not 20. From an official brp video I would expect accuracy. I over torqued my drain plug now as a result. I trusted the information from the manufacturer to be accurate as this is a video to assist in performing your own maintenance. Bro needs to be accountable.

In the interest of full transparency, it would be very helpful if you disclose how you were able to get the third (rear) wheel up onto the ramp. I was unable to drive both the front and rear wheels up onto the ramps. You either get the fronts or the back, but not both. I have already spent the money for two sets of ramps, the oil change kit and all the tools, so I'm stuck like Chuck. Please consider answering the question regarding how you got the rear wheel up onto the ramp. If you used a jack, where did you place it to raise the rear wheel and not damage the spyder? Thank you in advance for your help.

To get the rear tire up. I used a floor jack and a short piece of wood to set under the rear air ride support and jacked it up to the height if your ramp so you can set the ramp under the tire then lower the jack

If you want to remove all the oil remove both plugs at the bottom of the engine. Then push the throttle all the way in and push the starter button for 8 seconds. The engine won't start and it will empty the passage ways. BRP tech gave me this trick because every oil change the whole oil kit 3.5 qt wouldn't fit I was always over full on the dip stick. I was always left with 0.5 to 0.25 quart of oil to not be over filled.

Thanks for the video. However, I think you should mention break-in and performing this service BEFORE the 3000 miles. Even your website FAQ page mentions typical industry standard break-in oil changes. Ask anyone in the motorized business (automotive, engine rebuilders..etc) and they will tell you (there are MANY YT videos on this topic as well) that the first couple hundred miles will produce elevated metal fillings/wear after the machining process. Getting those out early does nothing but provide peace of mind and possible reduced wear down the road.
