I was around the scene when most of these were out, most of them were possible through packet editing, the star force hack was a logged packed that held the success chance in it I believe, so when you sent it over and over the system didnt have a check for it and you’d succeed 100% for all the stars

Heres some more: 1. Hacking bosses like Hard Magnus. Back then nobody was strong enough to kill it legit. 2. Bored hackers flying in ludi PQ waiting room. We called them heroes and tried to defame them. 3. Wolf spider and Blaze wizard botters. 4. When Mercedes came out everyone could instantly get level 200. Not sure how it worked, but it was a bug, not a hack.

The pet level up I abused the hell out of, but there was one guy in FM who I gave my info to and he somehow got me a level 100 ice lightning mage with royal hair and eyes. It only took about 5 minutes it was insane and I have no idea how he did it, apparently he was doing it for a lot of people.

I remember i once get temporary banned because my party used a glitch i didnt even knew at time in one of the old christmas event (one with a grinch as boss) not sure is was happy ville (i couldnt find anything about this grinch boss x.x)

Nah leveling during chaos was super ez, and 2nd job warrior already had some mobility by then.

Reminds me when there was a hack around the time monster summons got introduced. People on ladders at lion heart castle leeching while hackers would 1hitko the entire map.

LOL I would sit next to the modem box and have my finger ready on the trackpad on my laptop ready to click and finger on Z spamming it as soon as I disconnect and reconnect the Ethernet cable. 😂 good times

my dial up internet was so bad I could smuggle an item without even disconnecting my cord.

Thank you for this video, as a ex-ms smuggler during my childhood, this is the first time i have came across a video about Smuggling in Maple Story for it's history. I remember turning off the Wi-Fi button on the side of my laptop to smuggle. Thank the algorythym blessing me this video from a small creator :)

i created a channel crash to dupe items was a very funny times, i still have that old og account with dupe items i cant transfer a dagger to inventory cuz i have 2 same ID item but can transfer to other char or sell it.

Who is Hime? The GM responsible for rollbacks? 9:15 his badge says Hime, and I never got into the forums, I always just gamed and merched and thieved for my duped hacked items. Hence, I have no clue who Hime is.

There will be no Nostolgia that will bug me because it will never come back more than OG Maplestory in it's Prime. Not even Private servers can bring that the Energy, Community, Glitches, The lack of Knowledge because not having everything blasted on RUclips. Leader boards having meaning. Being level 70 and being considered a God. Hene H'ing. Good gosh man, And who can forget the drug filled BGM... Long live MS. Nexon you Cube Scammers, bring back the OG server. That would be a good way to get people off your ass.

this along with like AventureQuest was one of the big hitters for popular mmorpgs back in the day there with Runescape, Dota, T4C, Habbo Hotel etc. Epic times

Never saw Kerning PQ smuggling. But I did sell my efforts but having an AC. Even with one and 20 channels was still almost impossible to get in but I used auto click to get into them and man was that some crazy xp and money!

Man, this was definitely after my time in Maple. I played back when tracking someone in the PQ was the strat.

I had remote hacked a very few amount of people back in the day when I was younger, but im not sure if the method I used is the same or different then how other people did it, because from what I remember it was only possible for a very short time when I found out about it. Basically what you did was this: You would try to find someone who would trade/ change channel for you. Most commonly this was done in the FM with it being hectic. You would try to get someone to trade you who was selling something, shouting that you cant trade them. (The reasoning for them trading me is vague, im not sure if you actually needed to do this. Basically every character has a specific Unique ID, or maybe it was just their part of their name in HEX. When you are traded, a packet is sent to you that has their unique ID or name in HEX. You needed to get it) During the trade, tell them that a friend wants to buy the item but (forgot what reasoning we gave. maybe full channel?) hes in a different channel. Ask them to CC11 for example. Now when you CC, there was a packet that is being sent to the server that has your unique character ID, what channel you are trying to go to, and what map are you in. So basically what you had been doing this whole time was setting everything up. You got his Unique HEX ID from him trading you(you might've only needed to use a HEX converter for his name, but its been like ~15 years and i cant remember exactly), what channel he was going to, and the map you are in (FM) Finally, when the person actually CCs you would paste that special packet into a packet editor/sender, click on the same channel hes going to, then immediately send that packet. The server is now fooled into thinking you are that person, allowing you to load into the map as if you were him. From what i remember, or assumed at the time, was that this wasn't a 100% success rate thing you could do.(or I just didn't figure everything out perfectly since the method wasn't fully out there) I believed there were outside factors such as your computer speed, their computer speed, or even ping that may have effected it. I specifically remember just trying to do this with a friend of mine, and most of the time it not even working. I think i was only able to do it on like 1 or 2 people besides my friend before it got "fixed". You also didn't have much of ANY time to do anything. I think if they actually closed the game it would kick you out. You could not change map or even trade people. I am slightly remembering that I wanted a packet on hand that would drop 50k mesos instantly which is making me think you couldn't trade. However I was mostly doing this out of curiosity and just to see it work. At least, I dont remember taking everything someone had on them.

From what I remember, network manipulation like this was called "tapping" in another nexon game, combat arms. People (who I definitely wasn't one of) would disconnect, run around a corner, shoot, then reconnect. Was annoying to fight

Maple Story hates their players. Exploiting the game is just leveling the playing field.

I remember doing these at a kid, but glitching kerning pq wasnt useful because the exp the curse eye mobs (or w/e their name was) gave actually made it so it was better for you to farm them until like 30 seconds left, then go to the next stage.

Pass the lead was so busted on Opq. First time getting a 3rd job advancement 😂
