@@paulwillis3748 That's normally a sign that the mechanism is covered in limescale or worn out, so the button air pressure doesn't have enough strength to make it move. You can take the mechanism out and try soaking it in a limescale remover or just buy a replacement from Amazon which is less effort.

The buttons push air, the air pushes the plastic mechanism, most likely the mechanism is covered in limescale making it hard for the air to move the parts. It's hard to clean, so easiest to find the mechanism on Amazon and just replace it. Mine is held by some hooks at the bottom, so you rotate it to unhook and then pull out, but your design maybe different.

If I was looking for a true portable, I would go with the Ally as I constantly find the Deck too bulky to throw into a bag and take on my travels. But I'm one of those weirdos who got a Deck to encourage Linux gaming development and support.

@GreyCubeTube Fair enough. I was originally gonna get a Deck but the Ally is calling my name because 1) I find Windows to be user friendly 2) I have an Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 gaming laptop 3) I just want a PC handheld for small indie Steam games and emulation (especially for 3DS games)

Just open up the bindings, switch to community layouts and download it, you can then modify it to however you like.

Yes because the game mixes up the inputs. So select my community layout and then restart the game.

Find the file in your home folder (press CTRL+H to show hidden filed starting with a dot) ~/.local/share/Psychonauts/Profiles/Profile 1/Profile 1- Raz.ini Set following key bindings: LookUp_Alt=JoyRotY LookDown_Alt=JoyRotY LookLeft_Alt=JoyRotX LookRight_Alt=JoyRotX

@minimimic I waited forever to have the devs fix this. I haven't been able to play the steam version so I'm doing my playthrough on pcsx2 Playstation 2 emulator. Works perfect. Steam version is bugged. Have fun!

I would watch a play through, as with old games sometimes it's not the controls, but instead expects you to solve problems in a very specific way.

Hi, in my layout, both trackpad and joystick act as mouse movement, so there is no in game bindings. If both are not working the game is not capturing the mouse cursor. Make sure Fullscreen is ticked in the Options, Graphics section.

I played through using the native version and didn't have any crashes. If you're using proton you may need to try switching to a specific version.

Seeing the mouse pointer happens if don't have fullscreen ticked in the games graphics options. So try ticking it and restart the game.

Yes, assuming the deck is shutdown and you avoid touching components exposed at the sides. The fan connector will have no power going through it, the swap does not require excessive force or touching anything powered, and the metal shield protects nearby components from accidental touches.

​@@dylanyan7667 No problem. The only stress was nearly snapping my new MicroSD card, so if you have one, a reminder again to remove it before opening the case.

I was in the first batch of decks and got the Delta fan which has a high pitch whistle, so switched it to the more pleasant sounding Huaying. Was 50/50 as to which fan you would get in your deck.

@@JalapenoPrime I don't know for sure, only that on reddit /r/steamdeck the number of people with fan noise issues seems to have greatly reduced, and people getting RMA replacements are saying the fan is much quieter.

I'm about to have to replace mine because it developed a rattle only two months after having it. When it's not being played, it sits in the case. I was very distraught when I started up Cyberpunk yesterday and heard an unfamiliar noise.

Whoops, brain fart there with Sleeping Dogs 😂 Valve used two fan suppliers, the Delta brand has a high pitch whistle at full speed, so people are buying the quieter Huaying and swapping it out.

@@GlamityJean Rumour is newer decks now only use the quieter fan, but if you got the Delta, you're on your own as it's still functional, just annoying if you have good hearing.

Glad you liked it, and true about the battery. Having watched the noob video where he removed the metal, it seemed far more stressful and hazardous than just pushing in a fan connector no where near any circuitry 😀
