Yup, fully recognize shuffle steering is a preference. I have been doing it for so long it's automatic for me.

Good car control. Cant wait to get to this class.

No worries. Had just done that good lap so mission was accomplished.

I run 4 degrees front and 2.5 rear for track. The Cayman likes a lot of front camber.

Happy Nest they need alot! gt3 lower control arms front & rear? camber plates up front? are you on coilovers too?

RSS adjustable arms front and rear. Rear toe lock out plates and adjusters. Double adjustable spring/shock package. Monoball camber plates front. GT3 adjustable front sway bar and Tarret Engineering adjustable rear.

The system is the Aim Smarty Cam with an ECU bridge. You can customize the overlay that you like.

I run in both Blue and Red Group since I do the Novice classroom. I also run in Blue to survey the pace and see if there are potential Red Group drivers in the group.

That day I was running the Pirelli DH slicks I buy as take offs.

I think with a fresher set of tire it would have been closer but it's hard to turn good times with that heat. Spring and Fall are the best times. Always a fun lap though.

GT3 master cylinder, 6 piston Brenbos, 355mm rotor, Giro Disk rear brake upgrade. Cobalt friction pads. Upgrade brake lines. Works great.

+Dean Fetterolf It is an Aim SmartyCam with an OBDII ECU bridge. The overlay is one you can pick from their templates.

+FASTFATBOY Your personal best in the Vette and mine in the Atom were almost the same. Don't remember we were running together during any of the Red sessions. The Atom was on Hoosier R7 scrubs. I have run a 1:40 flat in an Atom on fresher tires but these were a bit used up but fine for an HPDE. I run those Pirelli take offs on my Cayman and love them. Reuben was very quick in that blue GTR and the C Mod BMWs were moving as well. But the fastest was that Porsche RSR. I have my two best Atom laps posted as well as the RSR blowing by me. A great two days.

+gearhead49 We were in red group just on opposite sides of track. The four blue BMW's are buddies of mine and all of them are really quick. I am still learning the new car, only 4 events and my first at Barber on good rubber. The car was bottoming out in a few spots and I have to address that, what a great weekend and yes the RSR and the XBow GT-4's were really fast.

aaron reeves I would say it has real potential to be in my Top 10. Not top 5 but top 10. Check out my video from March for better laps and thoughts on the track. Chin will be back the end of May. I will be there each track season multiple times because it is very entertaining.

crfblur1 I normally run the Continental race tires that are take offs from the series. In this video I am running BFG R1s.

Just the first two laps John on Sunday. I put this on me because on Saturday when the lead cars were lapping me I miss read the traffic after the first two cars went by and thought you and the yellow car were also lapping me so backed off on the last lap. I should have done a better job of understanding the blue flag but there were so many orange Atoms! On Sunday I had a fresh set of R6s on the car and it made all the difference in the world with the grip which is why I was able to re-pass you and the yellow car

gearhead49 2000 Boxster S (track prepped). Can turn a 1:45 at Road Atlanta with the right tires. Going with Chin to VIR this month after a two day at RA on street tires to learn to dance with my car. I've been at this less than a year, and realize I have so much to learn to be worthy of my ride. (and R compounds).

Kurt Klein There are two tracks when the Chin gang ranks their top 5 that make everyone's list. Road Atlanta and VIR are the two. They are both epic laps. Looking forward to driving the new surface at VIR this fall. The Caymans and Boxsters are excellent track cars. Who did the prep on your car and what are the mods? For being at it less then a year a 1:45 at RA on street tires is pretty good.

Thanks for the reply. I'll be on PS2s and stock suspension so knowing this I won't feel bad being several seconds slower. :-) My old Audi had some suspension mods and ran - 2.5 camber and NT01s. I'm just hoping the Cayman S will match it's times or maybe better them a bit once I get comfortable with it (1'50" and up :-) ) Has your Cayman R exhibited any oiling issues ? Hopefully the 9 A1 engine has eliminated all that.) Awesome lap. You are obviously very good. 105 mph in the esses requires bravery! Did I notice correctly that your car had a bit too much front brake bias? (safer that way)

compclen I have been told Porsche solved the oiling issues in 2009. My car only has 8,500 miles on it and this was the first track weekend so can't speak to any oiling issues. The brake bias is stock. No issues with it. I am using a GT3 adjustable front sway bar and have a little more push then I want so will probably back that off a notch for the next event. It you can nail the turn in for the esses and quickly get on the power with the downhill you build speed quickly. I thought 105mph was pretty good for the car. Glad you enjoyed the lap.
