    They are super intelligent, funny, loving birds and since they're not native to the US you can legally keep them as pets. They are not seed eaters tho but are Softbills so you need to do your homework before bringing one home.

      This chap had a mixture of fresh mashed boiled egg, soaked dry cat food, vitamins and mealworms plus fresh fruit, brown bread and fresh water all changed 4 times a day. He'd also try anything on our plates! He loved peas, spring onions and garlic and pea shoots for some reason. Any creepy crawlies especially spiders were on the menu too! Miss him every day.

    Im back again because of the recent comments sending me alerts 😁.. the man reminds me of my daddy who passed away 10 years ago. He made wee videos when my daughter was a baby and in one said "these ( camcorders) will be a thing of the past when she's older" . I took no heed of him..he was right 😊. This video shows a really lovely warm family.

Starlings are one of my favourite birds, i live in England and we feed them in the garden they are hilarious, especially the young ones when they square up to each other 🤣. The european starling introduced as an invasive species to North America in the late 19th century. It affects native species (chickadees, nuthatches, woodpeckers, purple martins, other swallows) through competition for nest holes. It's role in the decline of local native species and the damages to agriculture, the common starling has been included in the IUCN List of the world's 100 worst invasive species.

    • @mbkillops
      @mbkillops Год назад

      Look up how many tonnes of destructive insects they eat per year. I doubt many arable farmers would take the same view as you. They're a protected species in the UK thanks to common sense.

      @@mbkillops 120%. So so glad Starlings are protected in the UK; -I pray the USA will add them to protected in the future, and add humans to the invasive list. -I had my Timmy Starling from 2 days out of his egg, to 13 years. He was my best friend, and my family. He saved my life… Starling love from KY, USA… 💘

    • @sawyerthestarling
      @sawyerthestarling Год назад

      Would it help if they were given citizenship? Nothing is more destructive to any native songbird species,among dozens of other small animals, than a common house cat allowed to prowl. The amount of pesticides these birds eliminate the need for would drastically change how you eat if they were eradicated. Starlings couldn't hold a light to the amount of destruction humans cause so I fail to see the constructive point of this statement. These birds are so much more than a species that is hated for sport.

    I potty trained my 21 year old parrot and A robin who loved me so much she refused to leave that my parrot Buddy named Little Biscuit. She came to us after A very bad storm. My sister was A teacher at the time she found her and gave her to me she the robin was very young and only survivor of five. Found in fall kept through the winter 2014 or 2015. Very tame would hunt me down when cleaning and be A little shoulder buddy. Her and my parrot became very good siblings. Had her on shoulder told her I loved her and she should be free. Took her outside on my shoulder and before the screen door was closed she like lightening flew back into the house through the running room and livingroom, and upstairs she flew back to her cage. It was her safe place. Most of time her and buddy had doors open on cages for freedom! If I wasn't home or in bed they go to their cage to be safe. Lost a little sparrow once who I let stay out one night it was mistake he loved me so much he crawled in my hair while I feel asleep studying! His name was Benji A sparrow! Thank you for your precious video. With little biscuit I had a very special little friend and something nobody else ever had. What? My very own little footfan. She was very special. Thanks wish everybody could love each other. Love you all very much!
