Fitting Ambient RGB lighting to my Door cards on my Nissan Qashqai So forgot to mention in the video, The control boxes in each door connect to the central control box via 2.5ghz RF, You can then connect your phone to the control box via blue tooth app to control the colours

The voltage detector solution is flawed. Some J10s are fitted with intelligent battery management system, which will cut the altenator periodically, which means your light may go on and off on a whim. An alternator fault will also render the lights inoperable. Also, how does this look legalwise? The headlight lacks the running light homologation (RL00), so it's a great way to have your registration revoked. How does this look like wherever you are situated?
I agree, voltage solution was inconsistent and also eventually caused delay in one of them coming on for some reason, I replaced this with a standard relay to come on with ignition, Have not had any trouble with the legality of it. As it’s not a projected light and does not caused visibility issues for other drivers it seems to be ok, Generally here you can have any additional lighting at the front as long as it is not a color that could be mistaken for emergency services. White at front and red at back is generally ok,

I'm still wary on the strips. How did you get the zig zags? Did you cut them and reattatch them?
Hello! So you can cut them and reattach them with various adapters available, However for this I just folded the or curved the strip to the shape I wanted
Is blue live in the front to? And yellow ground?

Was it difficult to remove and reinstall the boot release button/switch? That’s the part I’m trying to replace on my J11 model as the rubber has torn. Trying to replace it without removing the entire boot handle as how you would when removing the license plate lights.

I stuck the sheets to the ceiling first, as the glue would make a mess of the ceiling and may be difficult to take off

Done this twice on a laptop first time worked for 6+ months with heavy use 2nd time I did it lasted for 3 weeks, but I forgot to max fans this time so ymmv but if done right this works!
I had the same experience with my 2006 MBP, however second GPU reflow lasted about 4 months. Disabling the AMD GPU on a 2010 -2011 MBP and using just the Intel graphics is probably best.
ya i tried this and it worked for about 15 minutes after i put it back together before the macbook pro locked up and i had to hard power it off and do the fix i did first which was disable the gpu via software! granted i only baked it at 350 for 6 minutes.. you are better off to use dosdude 1 gpu disable method and upgrade from high sierra to catalina with dosdude 1 patcher or use open core patcher for big sir or newer..... the reason why you should use a patcher to upgrade the os is so brightness and sleep mode will work without having to solder crap to the logic board...

It is indeed! The LEDs give off little to no heat, I went with three waterproof versions as they have an additional layer of silicon to cover up any live contacts Plus the fluff is fire resistant!

Hello! Apologies about that, So the ones I got were just off eBay, I found a seller that was selling them half the price of the X8R ones but they are exactly the same. They just done come with the acetone.
how many kg of cushioning foam do you need?
I used 3kg for my size ceiling and it was just enough!

Yes this is available for all qashqai models, easiest place to get them would be ebay

A bit late but likely you just plugged your controller into the strip upside down.. that would reverse red and blue contacts
Found out from the manufacturer that you can change the RGB signal to GBR in the settings to resolve it, which worked like a charm!
@DIY-Dalton awesome! How did you get the randomized light effect? Was that a built in function on your remote?
It comes with an app called magic home, It allows you to choose your own colours as well as a large amount of presets, I never used the physical remote in the end , the app is great

The reason they're not bright is the LEDs are pointing in to the gap between the headlight and the body panels. They should be facing forward.
Yeah this does not help, definitely a design flaw. Even if putting them on top of the headlight as per the instructions the leds are just pointing into the bonnet I do have a plan for some better ones so watch this space!
Keen to see this. Want to do the same to my J10. Thought I might have to look for and buy a whole new light cluster. Daytime run lights for front. LED type step lights for indicators ( like the Audi's look!)

Hello, Thank you, and I am glad I have inspired you, With this installation I have not had any problems , I have even added the foot well lights which I can post an image of later, The only thing I did notice is that when I lower the passenger window, the strip on that door turns off while the button is pressed, I would say that in future o would go with a solid core tubing, instead of the sheath, I believe this should be brighter
Quick question, there's a connector for the keyless entry/unlock button on left side that kind of sits in the bracket for one of the clips - what did you do about that, since the repair kit doesn't seem to allow for it?
You are right, there is no bracket for this connector on the repair kit, I left mine loose and just tucked it in the gap before I bolted down the hand, you can tape it in place as well,

Why acetone, no glue? Isn't acetone like alcohol
Hello, Acetone should make for a stronger bond as it melts the plastic, which fuses it together, kind of like welding for plastic! You can use any nail varnish remover as that has acetone in it

Where did you get those two glue on brackets? The audio on this vid is terrible so I couldn't hear. Please ditch the music and bass in future. Great idea though and just what I was looking for.
