Wow! Guthrie Trapp is one of the finest electric guitar players! What a gift!!!
Guthrie Trapp is the King!
Love how both Oz & Guthrie can play inside or outside at will.
PELTON!
Don't get me wrong these guys are great great players/ but does the band struggle to keep the gurv when Guthrie cranks up??and ( yes he's amazing)
Guthrie is shredding that solo there. Very good. Thanks!
Ridiculous!😅
But where’d Ray come in, other than OZ’s octaves early on? You guys are great guitar players, and you’re pissing your talent all over the stage in this video. JJZ…(°¿.°`)
Drummer ❤❤❤
Fantastic !
Oz has a beautiful way of playing blues tunes with incredible chops and NO emotion at all lmao. Like id rather watch this online than pay to go live and feel fucked over by the absolute lack of urge to want to dance or move haha. Scofield will always be the pinnacle for me, cause any of his projects he does for fun are fucking fun and funky and full of dancey energy. Obv not the Jazz trio and whatnot. Lile Oz and Guth here could of easily played the crowd into motion. Im not exactly sure why you wouldn't want to do that
no one kills like trapp lol
@Richard Robbins - I was hoping you'd have more videos from this show to post - no luck?
Rich, you have a lot more & will as well, yes?
Spanky A F!
These are my favorite contemporary guitar players, I am happy to see them together. It would be good to see more videos from this gig. I think these two are currently the masters of melodic guitar improvisations, it is the next generation of guitar players that goes beyond the fusion masters such as Robben Ford or John Scofield because of technical refinement. Oz Noy plays a bit more in the modal tradition and Guthrie Trapp plays more arpeggio chord based patterns. Oz sounds more mathematical and refined, Guthrie sounds more musical, whatever it means. No matter what they say during interviews, the roots of their playing is very intellectual, there is a lot of thought given to these lines. I think Oz is at his peak, while Guthrie could still improve by implementing more of the modal-based lines. So, my only comment is that not everything has to come "out of the chord" I always think of Kind of Blue, Flemenco Sketches and the solo by Cannondale Adderly, which is my favorite melodic modal solo (it's magic how he has improvised something out of nothing, in some sense). Joe Henderson can do it too, e.g,. in his Standard Joe album.
THANKS for this comment, these are "sons of Robben" yes inspired b those at end of what you wrote, Gd bless 'em.
Hate to say it but Guthrie just gets better and better. Still waiting’ to see that bald head.
He keeps that hat on pretty tight!
what's wrong with wigs & hairpieces? they're on stage, it was commonplace years back in Nashville, Texas, LA - all over - Las Vegas - everywhere it's makes them look how they play! but the hat thing nowadays is beautiful.
❤mighty mighty fine
Thanks for posting this... Former Florabama 1990's regular when Guthrie was just getting started...Shu
When I first caught sight of this I wondered if Guthrie had considered sneeking off stage rather than follow Oz...woaa..not a bit of it..he grabs hold of it and goes beserk...like the drummer too
aight!!!!!!!
GT is on fire. Its awesome to hear his take on this tune. I absolutely love playing this one. Its a wide open palette for improvising and Guthrie just completely painted a masterpiece. Oz is great too. Wow!
Not enough of triads and caged
Guthrie slays..
Big props to Shawn and Andy! GT’s got his classic two Deluxe Reverbs for fly-date back line. That Two Rock sounds killer! Oz never disappoints!
Guys in the front row almost start feeling it.. 😂
learning from the best around these days...
Aw man, was there a vanishingly rare Andy Hess bass solo about to happen at the end there?
Andy's life is quite something, interview on Everything Guitar...
Just another day of being spectacular!
Yes!!
Smokin'.
The TONES and touch are unbelievable!!!
Trapp really destroyed that!
That was totally kick ass; really enjoyed it ! 💪🎸 🤟
holy moly
show em how its done Guthrie
The A Team
Holy crap! Extraordinary talent!
Great playing from all!
Front row of dads. Guitar dad blues dudes.
A clinic in how a band should play with each other!!
Bruh played all the notes.
What guitar is GT playing? Doesn’t look like the ones on his lessons
I think it's a Danocaster.
Sounds like you guys have your scales and chord shapes down really really good. Lol rock on! Drummer is damn goodddddd
They both masters of playing chord tones but also playing a lot of “outside” stuff that sounds interesting and resolves! OZ plays some wild stuff that sounds wrong for a moment until you hear where it’s going
@@kane6529 yep you are so right. My drummer said you can play as wild as you want but always come back home. These guys are great at doing just that. Lol
Thank you for posting this!!! These guys were cooking with gas.
Slick pickin'!
2 fantastic guitarists! Wow!
Where's more of this! Dream team over there
OZ plays the End often & always mixes it up with so many greats around these days, our good fortune.
Wow
Looks like Andy Hess on bass.
Wow - thanks for sharing!
At least Oz quoted the melody.
gt seems to be doing hot licks video licks over everything
