Arrival - I Will Survive
Просмотров 65 тыс.17 лет назад
Arrival was a seven-member group from Liverpool formed in the late '60s. Members were Dyan Birch, Paddy McHugh, Frank Collins, Carroll Carter (vocals), Lloyd Courtney, Don Hume, and Tony O'Malley. They had two U.K. hits in 1970: "Friends" (number eight) and "I Will Survive" (number 16). Birch, Collins, McHugh and O'Malley later formed Kokomo. ~ William Ruhlmann, All Music Guide
Arrival - Friends

FRIENDS by Arrival (written by Terry Reid) - 1970 I had a friend who had friends by a river They too had friends who had friends of their own All seated round takin' port after dinner, Port that was bought by the friends that were known No one ever seems to care Just as long as they were there Friends beside you Friends to guide you Friends beside you, everywhere There's nothing new, it's all t...
Documentary called ZAPPA on Amazon prime..good stuff.
Why don't we realise what we've got. I was 16. These are fabulous. All too late now. Dyan died. God bless her x
Saw her at the 100 Club, London with Kokomo in 2014 and she was only able to participate in the first set.
Thought this was the song that goes "toad-o-line, love isn't always on time".
Rrrrederrrrreeeeeiiiiiii.... 😆
Had a friend who turned me onto zappa said he liked it because it picked him up when he felt down, it took me about 30yrs to get it but now I put him on when I need a smile
Such a fine piece of guitar playing - packed with detail, like the little descending tune he plays round 2:31, before one of his typical percussion eruptions!
Fantastic single from a fantastic band. For those who don’t know check out Kokomo, the band who were born out of Arrival. Their self-titled first album is the best British white soul album of all time. RIP the wonderful Dyan Birch and Alan Spenner.
Just two albums but i enjoy them a lot two musicals gems
Top 10 all time greatest albums 🙌
❤❤❤
I love it when the opportunity presents itself when i can say "million laughs"
Jim would be proud of you Ray how you humbly and gracefully handled the Band and working with Other Bands with dignity and respect after he was gone. RIP Ray & Jim.
"paying entirely too much for their beer" 🍻

Totally random song from my youth pops into my head to go search for this….haha all those days in another world in another life 😅
And here comes the watah!!!
Wunderschön! Leider für unsere Beziehung, Liebling, wahr...
Should have been number one brilliant record Patrick
Have to pass on this...
This was the first Zappa song I ever heard, played over the PA before a concert. Instantly got my attention and I’ve been hooked ever since!
What an interesting band, besides Ray Manzarek of The Doors, we’ve also got Nigel Harrison of Blondie on the bass.
Einer meiner absoluten Lieblingssongs !! Jango ist der beste Clown 🤡 ever. Leider ist hier der Schluß abgehakt. Da fehlt was.
ich muss sagen, ich mag andreas und jens version besser :)
You cut off the end of the song.
Frank Zappa, Joes Garage specifically, influenced my music, my mind, my entire perspective on life starting at age 14. I play drums. I played Ms. Pinky and Dumb All Over and a little Ugly on the side. No easy feat as a kid. Zappa’s composition, arrangements, lyrics and performances stand alone on so many levels it’s mind blowing. I know a few of his players: Bozzio, Wackerman, Thunes and Dunbar. Every musician that played with Zappa was a pro and diverse and capable of playing anything from Jazz, folk, disco, new wave, classical, Jazz and everything in between. I practice the same music dynamic, work ethic and weirdness.
Arthur deserves a lot more recognition than he ever seems to get.
You were an outstanding human being and one of a kind. You made the world a better place. Rest easy. I love you. Forever in my heart.🖤
💗Indeed, Stan was an outstanding human being & an amazing soul.. Jango was a great character but Stan was the real man behind the ensemble. Thank you for this beautiful comment. Stay well !
I played in a band all through the70s we supported them and covered some of their songs 16years on the road best band I ever saw p
The first gig I ever played was supporting Arrival, 15/4/72. Great band, and very helpful too.
Bought this LP after his show in "Melkweg". Amsterdam, around 1980. Never understand, why this great record was never released on CD.😒
Superb! So much fun ... a bit latino a bit of story telling, a bit of prog melody, laughing and leading into one of the creamiest guitar solos of all time.
I’ve been a Doors/Ray fan since 1980 I have albums of the Doors without Jim and albums Ray was involved in never heard this, this is fkn really cool!
i jumped on this when it first came out and pestered Ray with questions and he was actually kind enough to respond to a fan's mail. A real guy, Ray Manzarek
Can anyone tell me the lyrics please. There’s just a couple of lines I can’t decipher
Gillette Cavalcade of Sports ❤
