I totally get the frustration with people saying it looks like a ps2 game. They aren’t polishing the game yet. They are mainly just testing the networks right now. PS3 might be a more accurate comparison, but it will look a lot better closer to launch

I did two characters and leveled one through grinding in groups (lvl 20 Mage) and another through commissions by solo leveling (Level 14 Cleric). This phase I did not feel like going HAM but plan on as you guys say, "Playing the shit out of Alpha" once phase three hits and the summoner is in place.. I plan on going HAm when the augment system is in place for Cleric (I want to test Shaman).

Cleric is fun. It has a lot of combos you can do with the instant spells you use while casting. Healing while resurrecting is OP, not to mention most games dont have unlimited battle rez to begin with. So healers are in a good spot. My only worry is that all clerics will end up being the same spec essentially. I hope augment choices really change it up.

I think accounts that have been complicit, going forward in drvelopment, should also be flagged and acquire an account wide ban on being able to run for a mayoral position.

The issue is noone was banned proving to all of them they can cheat all they want the worst that will happen is you gotta relevel when you character would have been wiped in 3 weeks anyway

Bards aren't for healing IMO Shields/buffs/and especially debuffing - keeping "Humiliated" (30% DMG debuff) up really helps the Cleric have the time to respond

I have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. What the heck is duping(?)? Isn't the alpha test actually there to basically try to exploit the system and break the game so they can fix all the loop holes? But then again, I have no clue what duping is.

Bow down to DEVs and GM for catching and punishing them. I feel AOC DEVs have very good control over their product. This is very good sign. I see AOC is providing different dynamic experience in Alpha 2 itself. Their core product seems solid.

Grrr, makes me mad. all that time the person spent deleting all that, or writing the program to delete it, they could have been working on the game. The bad people cost us a lot of hours of work! So those people had better not complain if some bugs they wanted fixed were not fixed this week!

Or maybe just lower the repair costs for tanks so that their costs arent higher in a game that is supposed to rely on party based leveling. Feels bit elitist to say that tanks are supposed to die and that its just a skill issue. Isnt this game meant for people of various skill levels and not just the so called "elite"?

I’m glad that I purchased the alpha pack. I watched several RUclips channels of the gameplay and had reservations about the graphics and combat. It looks so much better in person and the combat feels better than just watching other people play. I would say that the majority of RUclips videos do a disservice to the game.

Feel bad your team got wiped, We had no idea what was going on and then Steven dropped Giants on us, and we saw you come back, we were listening to your stream and laughing as the Steven beetle was chasing you around. pretty awesome of Steven to give us all that xp boost, grats on your level.

First off, corruption in Alpha 2 is purposefully more unforgiving. The development team need players to test, not gank. Therefore, it will (and should be) easier to grind off corruption in the future. Sometimes players need to kill someone, period. If someone quits the game after one or two griefs, then should they even be the game in the first place, like c'mon. I'd recommend the first stack of corruption not have any stat reduction AND only a 50/50 chance of losing gear AND it can't be a weapon. That still provides a high enough risk to players not to PK unless they have to. Will players still grief? Yes, of course... assholes exist. If higher level players PK lower level players (I'd let the devs decide on the level differential), then have those players go straight to 2 stacks of corruption. Also, don't allow PKed players get XP debt or lose materials. Just some thoughts... the corruption system can be easily improved on without throwing the whole thing out. These are just a couple of ideas... the devs could make the system really engaging. Just my two cents as an old L2 vet.

The system is meant to be punishing so the barrier of going corrupt is high. Also there is no need to change the system since its natural to have starting zones and potentially some other zones to be safe from pvp. If high level players just go to low level zones to kill new players that will potentially stop some of them wanting to play the game. I have no idea why you are so keen on enabling ganking of lower level players. There is a difference between pvp that is between somewhat equal players in levels and gear and between player that is at max level going on a killing rampage around low level starting zones. Also you cant control ganking with just one set of rules like corruption system but a combination of rules that aim to prevent repeating this kind of ganking endlessly.

No serious company would charge money to test an alpha version. I bet the high price is mainly to get RUclipsrs to buy the game and people who are already very hyped and don't even realize what they are being promised and what is really there. I really wonder if people are incapable of comparing game developments. That's total nonsense, people only paid the money to participate. You have to think about how difficult it is to hear an honest opinion. Most people who play the Alpha have already invested $500-600 and are also emotionally invested. It's a shame that they couldn't let people test the game without a bias, but I suspect that was done on purpose. There were people on Kickstarter who invested $2500 and they will certainly have a bias. The question is whether the game is good. It's completely clear that if you play something new with several people then everything is fun. But that depends on the people you play with and not really on the game. And how the game differs from Alpha 1. There are more than 3 years between Alpha 1 and 2. I hope there are people who can honestly assess the status of the game, what was promised and what is really there. They're only interested in money. I think it's really reprehensible to charge people money to test their alpha. Normally you would pay people to do that. But I guess they're taking advantage of the hype and people who buy it don't realize they're still working for them.
