    What are you using for dressing them. Where did you get it from?

    • @TheBrokeWatchmaker
      @TheBrokeWatchmaker 3 месяца назад

      It is a three sided stone that came from a Work Sharp knife sharpening system. I picked it up at a knife store, but they are on Amazon as well. Thanks for watching!

      Lol, I cobbled it together from what I had available. All together it probably would cost just over $100 to assemble. Thanks for watching!

    I do pretty much the same thing even though I have the screwdriver holder; I've been having more trouble keeping the edges parallel with the holder (am I holding the holder wrong?). Two things that really helped me with badly damaged and/or very small screwdrivers: (1) only drag "toward yourself" (avoiding the direction where it "digs into" the diamond plate); and (2) if the tip is in bad shape, start with a large angle, like 45deg or even closer to perpendicular, and slowly make it more parallel to the diamond plate. Very best!

      I have the holder as well, but for this video it was just to show how to dress them a bit. I will have a video coming soon that details using the holder to redress them at a better angle. Thanks for watching!

    This is outstanding! I’d love to see more details about the build and programming. Do you have that posted somewhere? I’m subscribed hoping you do a tutorial. I’ve been living with just a cheap ultrasonic but something like this could really help me out. I’ve even got a spare printer growing dust! Thanks again for showing it.

    I’m so glad I found your channel! I was getting a bit discouraged! Couple of questions… 1) are you concerned about the mainspring getting plastic shaved into them? 2) do you think you get enough wash flowing through your baskets with the sides being solid? And 3) (for right now lol) will you share the seller you got your oils from? I’m very jealous of all your super cool 3d printed tools and holders! That’s way cool! Thanks! Oh! Could you maybe do a video on how you dressed those tools that weren’t quite right? I’ve sharpened up my screwdrivers but would like to see your methods!

    • @TheBrokeWatchmaker
      @TheBrokeWatchmaker 4 месяца назад

      Thank you for the kind words! To answer some of your questions, 1) No, I have cleaned up the prints so there shouldn't be any plastic transferred. 2) there should be plenty of wash going through the baskets. Since it creates a bit of a vortex, it will pull the cleaning fluids down and out. 3) DSWatchShop is the seller I got the oils from. I do plan to make some videos on dressing both the screwdrivers and the tweezers. Stay tuned!

    Holdup, would it be watchMAKER or watchWORKER? Technically, you're cleaning and reassembling a watch that has already been made, working on it to make it run better. Also, watchworker just sounds better with the w²

    Most of the time the midrange is where it's at. The absolute most cheapest stuff is maybe 2$, the midrange is 4$ and the bergeon is 40$ (numbers won't be accurate but the ratios probably will be). If you just stay away from the worst stuff and go slightly more expensive on some more important items you'll be fine. Throw in some STL files too!

    • @TheBrokeWatchmaker
      @TheBrokeWatchmaker 5 месяцев назад

      This is true. I am probably going to showcase a range of options for all budgets. Which stl's are you talking about? Some of them come from the usual places, but the cleaning machine stuff I haven't released yet. Thank you for watching!

    • @TheBrokeWatchmaker
      @TheBrokeWatchmaker 5 месяцев назад

      Absolutely! If you can modify the cheap tools a little to make them work properly, they work just as good as the expensive sets.
