Great and informative vid! Was wondering if they continued the old 2015 line of these after Disney closed down most of their physical stores in the US. Glad to hear these improved versions can still be bought online from their store. Because my nephews came crashing in one day and wrecked the first gen ones I used for costumes :/ I didn't see it in the video, but the 1st Disney generation also had an Episode 6 green Luke lightsaber that actually has its unique screen-accurate high-pitched activation/deactiviation sound! (which is missing from even Hasbro's overpriced black series version). It was a parks exclusive back in 2016. Am hoping they make an improved version of it with a removable blade too. Thanks for posting this, and keep up the good work! Update: Just saw your vid on the Green luke one! Nice coverage on that one too

I What is the difference between these lightsabers and the ones previously sold? From what I've seen, Darth Vader's lightsaber is different from the ones sold individually.

i still dont see why people buy the legacy lighsaber when theyre soo overpriced and just a small upgrade from the disney parks one

I can hear Duel of the Fates as Darth Maul is coming for Ahsoka because it’s unfair his lightsaber only gets packaged with one hilt and one blade, forcing you to buy another where Ahsoka’s comes with both hilts and both blades for lower than Darth Maul. Maul is looking for her.

The way to attach the blade is actually kinda similar to how u would attach a katana blade to the handle. I find that really cool since this saber is looking like a katana.

Update: Looks like the non-signed Clone Wars sets will be released on the 19th at 8am Pacific. No word on whether or not D23 Gold is required. And the leftover Chosen One sets are now available at Dok Ondar's at Disneyland (not Disney World).

Sorry Im a little confused, so the Clone wars LE lightsaber set is only available online at August 12 for Gold members only and they will be signed? Then later on, we dont know when, the rest of us can buy it also online and all 3,000 sets will be signed? Am I getting it right?

The darksaber blade has been out of stock on the online Disney store for some time with no plans to restock it at this time. It is also impossible to find on the xecondary market.

The elf version is very nice and imo worth the extra price.

I found out, the Kylo Ren blade does fit into the Rey hilt, but not vice versa.

Hear me out… the forge are lightsaber lego. They are so cheap that you don’t have to feel bad about modifying or painting it. If you’re trying to make your own saber, and don’t really want to copy a character, then the forge are actually better than the Dstore sabers. The Dstore are second to none for Larp and are very cost friendly, but they aren’t compatible with each other, let alone the forge. I’ve even come up with a new electronic kit for the forge that runs off an arduino nano, a 28mm high quality speaker, an accelerometer, and a retractable full light blade(it uses small LED and flexible wire). So long story short: for LARP/cosplay/ playing with your kids: get the Dstore sabers. If you want to experiment with custom lightsabers and don’t want to spend $400 for a proffie/neopixel setup for each saber the the forge is worth it. By my math, you can have more than a dozen different lightsabers with the upgraded electronics for $500, or the price of one adult “proffie/neopixel” saber. So for the saber enthusiast who has $500 to spend you have 3 choices: all of the Dstore sabers, a dozen lightsaber forge and a decent “lightsaber lego” kit, or one adult saber.

Only reason I bought the Disney Parks version is because the second lightsaber was included 😂

is there a way to get old parts?(the pre 2023 versions). i want to make a "lightsaber lego kit" and i need at least 2 of the frames. whats the cheapest way to get hooked up? i only have about $1,000 to spend.

I went there last month and missed so many things to buy.😭 My route was explore the galaxy’s edge and go on some rides and browse store along the way, then I remembered there should be a build your own saber somewhere, and asked one of the staff to take me there, which was my final activity in galaxy’s edge. When I did some research on the Savi’s saber today I wanted to see light sabers made by others, then I learned you can buy kyber crystals and saber mounts and more in the store, by the time I saw them I thought they were just some decoration items… 😭😭😭

Every time I've seen a review on a Hasbro Black Series saber, there is usually a ring that has to go over the blade to secure it. It's more work than it needs to be, but I guess the blade is secure. The ring can scratch up the blade over time. Though some sabers do come with a neat kyber crystal blade plug. Those blades for the Legacy and Savi's are nice: just twist and lock. If you have a Savi saber then you don't need to buy a blade since it'll work with any Legacy saber.

I have to give the slight edge to the Disney one. Easier to put the blades and even tho it’s a bit larger, the fact that for $40 more you get the shoto I feel it’s a no-brainer. Hasbro does kill it with how the blade ignites tho. Great comparison!!!

I don't understand getting only one Ashoka saber when it suppose to be a set. Also that finish doesn't do it for me. It looks like a Matte paint in the video. Great review though!!!

Great review! Always appreciate the comparisons! I’m still happy with my v2’s, as it spends the majority of the time as a display piece, I don’t mind the size, it makes them more visible from a distance. More accurate is always ideal, but it’s at least good value deal!

I am very interested in seeing if dremeling out the post allows other blades to work!!

You could also try using a hair dryer to warm the glue under the sticker before trying to peel it off.

The fact that the US and EU stores don't carry the same sabers is so annoying. Yoda's and Kylo Ren's have been out of stock almost since they were released over here, but are available in the US store. Kylo's is a nice to have, but Yoda's is a must, specially since it is so far the only green blade available. I have all the others and they are Disney's best offering. I agree that the different connectors are silly. There is a non-destructive way to switch blades. The base of the blade can be disassembled. Then you only need to swap the pieces and it works. I've tried with a few and they all work just fine. Some blades are harder to disassemble though.

I've had mine since it was released and it's probably the best one they've made so far.
