Love your videos. The bag trick is awesome. I had my surgery back in October so I’m new to this. My surgery had a lot of complications and my stomach is on the inside and not out. One trick I learned with the powder is to turn the bottle right side up so sir fills the top of the bottle and squeeze the bottle to blow off the extra powder. I also found using a hair dryer once everything is on helps seal the flange with the rings to me. Thank you for your video.

YEs have everything prepped to go. I had mt wafer/ring pre cut .Adhesive remover is best. They taught me to take the bag off first. Then take the wafer/ring off then get the skin clean. As the skin starts to dry Check for sore or red skin around the stoma. I used a skin cream for the redness. There is a powder which is to alleviate any odour and you put a small amount in the bag. Then repeat the process, Wafer/ring warm it up to help the adhesive get sticky, apply it to you. Have the bag ready to go, Put the seal on then put the bag on. Its all about practice and confidence. Always take a grab bag with you when you go out juts in case you need to change anything.

You can order spray adhesive remover very easy to peal it off Then you can use a bottle spray with water. spray around it to clean your skin and stoma. Don't be afraid to use water bottle spray. Then pat it with dry paper towel or mini fan so around the stoma is totally dry. Do not pour the powder to your stoma . Only to your irritated skin . If you accidentally pour to your stoma make sure spray water because if you don't and once the powder it gets dry your stoma will bleed. Then after that you use the skin barrier so your skin won't irritate. There's also a lubricant to put inside the bag easier to empty your bag

As my partner had an Ileostomy and then we really had to learn alot about preparation of the skin , skin care, why so many leaks ( particularly in men?) THE HAIR GROWTH pushes the flange out so you need to keep the area shaved and extremely clean , plus , there are SO many products. Ask as many questions as you need to and keep asking

Hi It looks like it's been 2 years since this video. How about an update? It really looks painful to peel it off your skin. The other commenters said there is spray to help with that. I hope you have found it. I have also read that you can use a opaque bag, not transparent. What is the advantage of this one you have instead of the opaque? Thanks for the video, you are brave to do this and very helpful to us all.

It's been 11 years since he did the video. I didn't check to see if he had newer videos on the channel. LetsTalkIBD is a young married woman, who has this kind of content and much more, which is a current channel. I just came across this for things to be grateful for. I have different struggles, and very glad it isn't these one. All the best to those that have to deal w/ all this. Glad there is better alternatives these days than what there used to be.

Thanks for the upload, & sharing your journey. It’s very helpful to me, I’m waiting to have a permanent ileostomy, no J-pouch for me or any other options. What I would like to point out is how healthy you’re looking in this video, it’s certainly made all the difference. For me I’m having to spend 24 hours a day in bed with immense fatigue and pain, I can’t wait to get my life back. You have given me hope & faith and eased any worries I have, so thank you 🙏 ❤ and congrats for getting where you are, it’s not easygoing that I can see 😅🎉
