Walking Cam

Добавлен 15 янв 2021
The channel of a woman exploring alone abandoned, haunted, creepiest places and ghost towns in US. Fell in love with mystical legends and local history.
I have walked hundreds of miles with my camera, spent the whole days and nights in ghost towns, cemeteries, morgues looking for anything mystical or weird, but have never had any paranormal encounters, but I remain hopeful.
I know that this description is unlikely to be read to the end, but should say:
Almost all the videos on my channel contain riddles inside. Those riddles can be of two types:
- That can be YOU WIN phrase encrypted in an absolutely unpredictable form (cipher, sound).
- An odd object which can’t exist in reality may be featured in a video.
A single video may contain only one riddle. If you manage to decipher YOU WIN message in a video or find an unreal object, leave the comment to let me know. First person, who solved the riddle in a video, will get $50 prize from me.
Sincerely yours,
Darina

Alone at Devil's Hairbrush - Pine Barrens Night
This scary night, I had a chance to film one more swamp in Pine Barrens known as the Devil’s Hairbrush. This swamp is surrounded with large stand of dead Atlantic White Cedar trees which in someone’s imagination must have looked like a giant hairbrush only a devil would use. The creepy flooded area with dead stands of cedar trees are known as Ghost Forest.
The wood of Atlantic White Cedar trees is hard and rot resistant. When these trees die, they will remain standing for many years. They lose their bark and that gives them a white ghostly appearance.

Nice one as always WC ! Carry on :-)
Thanks, Joe! I didn't expect to find the place so easy accessible. Thought the roads are flooded. Had plans to make a long night hike, but could reach the on the car
Love the intro! I don't live there, but felt sentimental Vibes straight away! Are you an empath?D:)) I'm catching up again.Been making Sock Puppet Action Figures'-I sent u pic of yours!! Hope you luv it❤
Pasadena? Idn't that up by forked river somewhere ? Methinks it was where the old terra cotta place was ! Never heard of "devils hairbrush" back in my time exploring . Must be a new name ? I dunno .
Darina, a Barrens place I don't believe I've been to. At least by that name. Thanks again for sharing 😊
Hello, Francis. Pine barrens, Pinelands or just The Pines. A big forest in South Jersey. Easy to hike, flat terrain, a few ghost town.
@@walkingcam1 Clarification on my part...just don't remember being to the Devil's Hairbrush before. Well versed in the Pine Barrens though. LoL
Excellent rig for night filming. Loved the calls of the wood ducks at sunset.
I attached all lights i had. 😂 Good enough
Yet another location to add to my list of places to explore. Swamps and wetlands are unique and intriguing areas, especially at night!
Hello, Johnny! i'm thinking to sneak in the heart of the Ghost Forest. Must be a cool place to film inside. Just need to come up with way to do that safely. The place is really swampy, it's easy to drown
Beware of the Pine Barrens Monster. 😱
Hi, Lyndon ! Never met anything unexplainable. But still hope.
Hi Darina! There are horrifying creatures that lurk in swamps. Always carry a bottle of vinegar to scare them away!
Those archways may be coke ovens
This was a power plant. Could not find a plan of it to identify all structures 😢
I hate when they brick off tunnels
Same. You put so much effort to discover new place and find it gated or buried.
Watching this again🎉
That's a cool place. So many overgrown buildings. 🙂
A beaver can make that noise with his tail, he is trying to scare you away.
Hi, Corinne! Afraid, he just fueled my interest in his person 😉
Probably water snakes making the waves 🎉i🎉
Hi, Dave! Beavers, i believe. I saw them in action on Ghost Lake. Sometimes, they splash with their tails, don't know why
Darina, even better is being in a kayak or canoe at night. A tad bit riskier, but well worth it. Especially, at sunrise.
Just this idea has been cooking in my head last days. 👍 But i sold my kayak recently. It was too heavy, tired of dragging it. I have an inflatable small boat as well. Although, not sure about boating in swamp on it. Too many sharp branch in the water. Need to think carefully about that crazy adventure 🙂
Went to camp there 2 or 3 times for a week and we would do swamp hikes and night hikes. Never saw anything weird but got the creeps out there at night.
same. But i don't lose hope to find anything outstanding
Don't you ever wonder what the story is behind these places ? It's like they just left everything behind and moved on.
the owner was prisoned. His wife could afford property maintenance

I noticed that 😊
Long ago before my spiritual awakening working with hospice patients and encountering death on many levels, I was just a young girl with a weird curiosity for creepy haunted nj destinations. Mount misery had always been a second home to me as a troubled teen. I never had an issue despite many crazy stories about satanic ritualist and ghosts from the other kids in town. One night we spent the night camping down a tight deer trail that my jeep could barely squeeze down. I came with walkies and a great vibe to have a relaxing night out. Me and a friend of mine made a small fire, and she began talking about the sense of being watched and ask what I thought about spirits in these woods. I laughed and jokingly said "If there are any spirits they're welcome to join the party". Hours passed (around 2am) and my friend starting dozing off in her chair. This is when I heard the sound of a dirt bike start up very close by. Being a part.of the off road scene I found it strange they would start riding at 2am in the morning but after the sound kept getting closer I became very alarmed and kicked the fire out. I woke up my friend and gave her the walkie and told her to get in her jeep and go to bed. After cleaning up I realized I didn't hear the bike anymore. So I went to bed. About 3am I laid my head down to go to sleep and immediately I heard the sound of static or white noise in my jeep. I dug around to find my walkie was malfunctioning. I tried to call my friend because I instinctively knew I messed up and we needed to leave. The dark outside the car seemed so thick and I felt very closterphobic. My phone started to malfunction as well. I turned off the walkie only to have it turn on again. Until I took the batteries out. Suddenly there was a loud kick or thud to the back of my cherokee. And I started to flip out desperate to call someone for help but the phone wasn't working. I made a desperate attempt to scream for my friend to wake up but refused to leave the car. This is when I tried to look for the car keys. Eventually I woke her up and she called a friend of mine to come out with a spare set of keys because mine were gone... he arrived around 4am and we all left the area. I returned two days later hoping to find my keys only to find what was left of them burn in the campfire. Now years later I have a spirit box, and to this day I don't touch it. The sound of the white noise reminds me of the walkie that night and I realized someone or something wanted to talk to me. I no longer mess with any place that has a spiritual attachment as I know how things follow you home as well.
Tom Brown Jr. Has his Tracker school in the pine barrens. Most of his writings talk of Grandfather. The Native "Stalking Wolf" who trained him as a kid. Interesting journey.
Sad to say Tom Brown passed away last August 16, 2024. I learned much from his books and trained accordingly.
Hi! Who is that? Never heard. Looks like a cool man
@@walkingcam1 Very cool person. I am wondering if people have been hearing strange things since the 70's because Tom was training people, You look Well kept and on your game. You Never heard about Tom Brown Jr. I mostly studied Urban Survival and Edibles. Peace.
Trackers practice on never being seen or leave their own tracks. They Mimic Animal noises as bait when they are hungry. All in practice in the Pine Barrens. No Mystical Red Tiger or something. It was Tom Brown.
Tracking for survival on this level is very old. A whole different dimension then feeding deer. On this level you live with the deer and take the weakest out. If you are a Vegetarian. Whelp you will starve.Lol. Yep. Tom Died and it wasn't till your video that I checked up on everything. What a trip. Peace. Much Love. Keep up the Great Work.
I approve :-) !!! Another great episode WC.... Love it !
@@TheRealJerseyJoe thanks, Joe) that was a good night. Interesting and spooky a bit
So there are reindeer in the Pine Barrens? Who would have thought
Afraid, no. Would be great if they were 🙂
Oh hell yeah, I'm hyped that you finally visited this place. Did you notice even during the day that this place has a negative vibe, like it feels like you're being watched? And I camped back there as well, I heard alot of off pudding sounds that sounded unnatural. For example I heard what sounded like a native Indian chanting, along with a woman moaning, but not in an appropriate way. Also I swear to God that I heard wolves howling, know for a fact that it wasn't wild dog's/coyote's, supposedly back in the day people released wolves in the Pine Barrens.
hi, Carl! Haven't heard from you for while. 🙂 I was disturbed a bit by dirty bike riders when i was camping. Don't know what they did in night forest, but that was noisy. Puddling sounds , is that not beavers? I heard a lot of load splashes that night at Devil's hairbrush (the next video). Only theory i have - swimming beavers. Regarding native Indian chanting, i totally trust you. A year ot two ago, i saw an old native Indian woman collecting some plants among trees. Don't know who she was. If i heard wolves either coyotes in night there, i'd get away immediately. Who knows what they think? Although, i saw coyotes twice in daylight in the Pines.
Stalking Wolf. Grandfather.
@@ZPDSurvival Found Tom Brown's school no on the internet. So sad, i missed this man in my life
@@walkingcam1 That was my study back in the day and I carry it daily. Peace.
@@walkingcam1 The best book I enjoyed was Urban Survival. The pictures look like crude drawings but he teaches so many ways to access essential needs in a grid down situation. Plus read his first book. The spiritual path to be connected with the Higher spirit on each individual level is Key to Survival. Knowing your truth and connecting with the world around you creating balance and Harmony with the animals and insects is true to your being. Give it a chance. We are here for a reason. I just want an accuse to go hiking again.
Spooky video😳
It was a spooky night 😉
PS: I respect what you're doing...
Thank you)))
Good ole Pine Barrens. Where I grew up. Made many night trips into the woods just like this up until I went in the military. Who knows, you may have even passed our farm on the way there. I’m amazed you weren’t ate up by the mosquitos! Just a heads up, there’s more out there than what Mike mentioned, but what he did mention is most of it. There’s a small town near there called Red Lion. Do you know the story behind it?
Hello ! (Sorry, don't know you name 🙂) I have special poison against mosquitos and deer ticks. Treated my clothes, backpack with it. It's supposed to kill any bugs once they try to land on me 😁 Looks like it works. At least, I didn't have to extract ticks from myself for last months. Red Lion, you mean the story of this name origin? or anything else happened there?
@@walkingcam1 Sorry, my name is Mark. I tend to use pyrethrin when I'm out and about down back. We have a herd of dear that love to go through our fields dropping ticks everywhere. Pyrethrin definitely keeps the deer ticks away. Red Lion... yep, the name origin. They still show up from time to time. Saw one about 200 yards away on the south side of Pemberton in the farm area. But it wasn't interested in chasing a human. 😊We get the occasional bear running around our back yards, too. They eventually make it across 206 and into the woods. Then there's the timber rattlers. They get pretty big. My son found one on the side of road along 70 just chilling out a year or two ago. They should be calling it bedtime at this is a good time of year, though. Be careful of bucks during rut season, too. They'll charge at you to get past you. Anyway, just stay safe out there. The wildlife tends to leave you alone if you don't bother them, but you never know when they may take offense to you being there. Just worry about you being out there and getting hurt... 😊
@@walkingcam1 Permethrin, works great.
yeah, that's exactly what i use. A big orange bottle
Nice to meet you, Mark. Darina. Yes, i use Permethrin. Found on Amazon. Have treated all my stuff, including car seats. Works great. At least, i stopped catching ticks on the clothes and the my body. Red lions, that's really cool. I thought human killed all of them. Would be great to know if they still live here. Sometimes i encounter bears. Usually they promptly run away, but two years ago, a mum with two cubs started pursuing me. It was disturbing a bit to see them following in bushes 🙂
lol. “Creepy.” This was every night at Stockton with a blunt 30 years ago.
hi, Matthew 🙂 I have obey YT algorithms. it likes words like "horror" or "creepy" etc. If i named video, for example, "Matthew's back yard in night", only you and me would see that. 😉
Sounds like locust to me.
maybe. Somebody told recently that it was sort of cicada.
Hi Darina! That rig looks like something they'd send to the surface of another planet to get photos. There's a Mount Misery in my part of the world (and a Mount Hopeless way up in the desert) but I haven't been able to find out how it got its name. 🧭
Lyndon. You made me laugh 😂 It really looks. We have a few places known as Mt. Misery too. A popular name, obviously. Btw, all of them are pretty creepy. Now i explored just closest one.
There’s a mount misery in Lincoln., Mass, too. Another wonderful hike.
Maybe NASA or the European Space Agency would be interested in your design.🚀 How Mount Hopeless got its name is well documented. An explorer heading north in 1840 was forced to turn back when he could see nothing but desert and salt lakes on the horizon. It took later explorers nearly 20 years to find a route through. 🧭
@@mperrotti76 Too far 😢 I thought about Mt. Misery Road at Suffolk County Long Island. Watched some videos, but unsure yet if it's worth to travel to there
@@lakefromeshippingcompany Definitely, they should. Mount Hopeless?! Jesus Christ, it's perfect name for a cemetery, not for place where people live

Hi! Cars at crossing RR and 646 in Port Elizabeth
Excellent video and presentation! I've recently begun documenting through photography many of the former South Jersey sites. The Swedesboro control site was recently demolished, btw! I know exactly where this particular site in Evesham/Marlton is located. I've contemplated hiking in from Elmwood Rd since it appears the actual road once used to access the base now "runs into" the rear of a nursery along Tomlinson Mill Rd. Would you mind sharing how you got to the site? Where along the access road you entered?
Control site demolished? Oh, damn me. So sad To reach Marlton, i parked on the closest street (Old Republic Lane). But, believe, would be good to choose a place safer. Indian Spring Country Club parking at Elmwood Rd is a good place to leave car safe
