Governor Newsom has made it possible for seniors to bypass the written test. You still have to take the vision test but no written test unless you have violations.

CA just announced that those over 70 no longer have to take the written test, just take eye test, picture and go.

Signal?? Californian drivers??? Too funny. On the highway , Californian drivers think the turn signal is Carte Blanche to immediately take the lane if they use it at all. On the streets, it’s a way of telling who is from out of State - natives simply don’t bother. That reminds me: I’d like to apologize to NJ drivers. Car hand signals are different than bicycle hand signals. This needs to be changed as confusing already.

Some incidents require the pedestrian aka jaywalkers being cited. One is CA vehicle code section 21954 part b that states "Every pedestrian upon a roadway shall yield the right of way to all drivers so near as to constitute an immediate hazard". peds are darting into traffic without looking and interfering with law abiding drivers.

These laws are too vague and has little meaning. Why would the person care if they ate the car. They're not getting arrested and it's not their car.

This is a dumb rule, especially when there are traffic lights instead of stop signs. The car turning left should have the right of way as it has a narrow window. It may get stuck waiting if the line of cars turning right never stops. Also the cars turning right can do so at any time regardless of the light.

And yet, it's amazing how many drivers either don't know this, or don't care.

Anyone who needs this lesson is not qualified to drive. Self-driving cars can't get here too soon.
