TJHS-1968 50th-year Remembrance
In the Fall of 1965, Principal Bob Chambers welcomed our class of over 1,100 students.
But transfers, moves and the Vietnam Conflict reduced our Junior & Senior Class sizes.
Our Senior Class of 1968, numbering 844, was the FOURTH largest class to graduate from Thomas Jefferson High School.
Please remember these Seventy-One members of our Class that are no longer here to join in our 50th-year Celebration.

Loved that, Jane Withers is great - not a beauty, but attractive because she’s so engaging, kind, clever, creative and fun! I especially enjoyed this film because My Grandma would have been about the same age at the time it was filmed; this reminds Me of Grandmas stories about being-‘pinned’, about marching to music (instead of dancing), and making party dresses from crepe-paper. …Despite the hardships, it was such a young and innocent time to be growing-up! Thank-You for uploading gems like this-one!!
Enjoyed this tremendously, thanks for sharing 👍
Reminds me of the skit "High School Madness" by the Firesign Theater in "Don't Crush that Dwarf Hand Me Those Pliers". Glad I stumbled on to this. Moore Science High School...it's. DISAPPEARED.

😃 🥰 Thank you 🥰 😃❤👍 Oct . 14 , 2923
I took care of Jane Withers when I worked at her nursing home, sometimes they would play her old films. It was wild to see her watch her young self as an old woman
i love Jane Withers, every movie she is a joy! always makes us feel happy and forget our troubles. ❤❤❤❤❤ 🎥🍿🥰🥂
abbsolutely priceless, thank you soo much bears
I am currently a Thomas Jefferson student! I even tried out to be a lasso but unfortunately did not make it. But i will definitely try out bext year. I love hearing about the schools history and recently found out about this movie.
thats awesome. hope you enjoyed this old gem of a film. and good luck next year 🧓
Recently saw an old interview with Jane Withers - she was 13yrs old, passing herself as 18, when she signed a 7yr contract with the studio. She was able to carry it off, with the help of her father (who obtained an altered birth certificate). She was a force of nature :)
Jane Withers was one of my favorite actresses back when I was growing up , I never get tired of these old films , they are classics and unforgetable !
im with you on that 💯 ms Linda. these old films are a big comfort and joy in my old age. and Jane Withers is a treasure. God Bless 🧓🥂
Near the end, we saw where Jane got the two ropes from, but where did she get the FOUR handkerchiefs from?!
Simply Put and in no uncertain terms The Whole School is early early early The Breakfast Club. Loved This ❤
Very EA 🟦 of 3
This seems like a nice add on after having just watched the J Withers movie "High School". Not a bad voice for a High School Senior which makes me wonder what He is up to in 2022!!
Jane Withers was prettier at this young age than her niece Bernadette was at a similar age in Bachelor Father . however you can not mistake the similar looks and voice of those two ladies .
Jane Withers and Bernadette Withers were not related. Jane had no brothers or sisters. Bernadette (1946-2019) was also in "The Trouble With Angels" .... (with Hayley Mills).
I've watched a bunch of Jane's moves right here on RUclips. She was a B movie star & her films were mostly filmed at the Fox B lot.
Wonderful upload. Thank you so much. It occurred to me that many of the members of the ROTC in this film were likely to have been drafted or enlisted in the armed forces just a year later.
Never forget what they took from us.
ADORABLE JANE. ❤❤
agree 💯❤️❤️❤️❤️
Cute 😊
RIP Jane Withers...a fine actress :)
What a flashback, this was a great school to attend,a 1970 graduate. Henry B. Gonzales and the Castro brother's are also alumni's. The Atlanta Falcon Tommy Nobis-Texas Longhair Linebacker also a graduate.
RIP Jane Withers 1926-2021, among the last of the 1930's film stars.
slats....10:30 in the morning and that boy aint right..his bad hemmett Gabe him drain bramage
when both jane and slatts tried to explain the lizard incident.. they were constantly interrupted.. not given a chance to explain.. such interruptions were a common theme in movies.
Brilliantly acted
Thank you for your generosity in sharing this wonderful funny movie!! I used to love watching her as a young girl in the movies!
I was so confused - I thought this movie was made in 1967 - when it appears to be the 1940’s. I give up 🤷🏼♀️
The movie was released in 1940 and was apparently filmed in 1938. You must be confusing it with later "high school" pictures.
I love the way actors spoke back then.
More was expected of them. In fact all professionals of all fields were expected to have decent vocabulary. Now days the college educated are lacking in good grammar and speaking abilities
Cliff Edwards, once known as “Ukelele Ike”, was the voice of Disney’s Jiminy Cricket.
Nobody knew who he was when he died.
Yeah, It's only in recent years that I found out about Ukulele Ike was the voice of Jiminy. The old time entertainers were multitalented: singing, dancing, acting, writing plays and movie scripts and much more. .
Heck, they missed the obvious ending! She should have lasood the bad guys!
That is one howdy doody lookin feller.
Really good!
This was a great 🎥 wish I was there those times back to the pass
So in the history class they never told Jane what was going on they just said you can’t answer then got mad when she did answer.
Cute movie
Somehow Nathan told me that awful Sunday so many years ago that Kay Klein was killed in Port Arkansas that Sunday morning and I went into the bathroom at Frontier and vomited... Ill also never forget how nice Josette Zimmerman was to everyone despite her fading away with kidney failure like Tim Johnson. They didn't come any nicer then or now fifty or more years later. Treasure your family and friends Now before it's too late. Thank You all.
Was she is Shirley Temple movies?
Jane played the brat in 1934's Bright Eyes. It was the only time Jane and Shirley appeared together. 20th Century Fox had the only two child stars who were in the Top 10 Box Office draws in the mid 30's.
What a horrible movie!
Then you should’ve turned it off after a couple minutes🤔

THAT UGLY GIRL AGAIN IN A MOVIE. SORRY, WON'T WATCH!
Was that Penny Singleton playing the air hostess? It sure sounded like Blondie. 😊
Or Jane.
No--Penny was under contract to Columbia and Columbia would not loan her out just to do what was more or less a cameo
Jane Withers did a nice job of gagging both of those ladies near the end of the film
agreed. Packing in such an old movie
This is a very nice gesture, one I hope catches on. Such clean-cut and promising-looking individuals. I wish nothing but the best for you and your high school classmates; and a prayer goes out for the ones I knew as well. God Bless! 10/2018
Thank you, Patrick. I have been providing these memorial videos for over a decade, for several classes, not just my own class of 1967. This one was for the Class of 1968 as they celebrated their 50th-year high school reunion. -dr segura
How late do these students go to school? Jane gats into trouble at a tea scheduled for 4:30 PM; she has Slats helping her out trying to get the lizard and the teacher catches them in the act. After Uncle Henry has Jane answer a question that has Slats saying "That's telling her," Dr. Wallace orders Slats back to class! At 5:00 PM? The Scriptwriter or continuity girl slipped on this scene.
They were using;( Eastern Standard Time;)
Can’t you just enjoy the movie?
@@belgiumgirl8970 I do enjoy this movie. But anyone with common sense could figure out that there was something wrong with the timing of the scene. I work at a high school and I know I would not be in class after a tea that started after school was out for the day. Besides, it is fun to point out a "goof" in a picture, especially a "B" movie. If this was an "A" movie, unless the film was over budget, the scene would have been reshot. Darryl Zanuck, head of 20th Century Fox, refused to reshoot a finale scene in "Sun Valley Serenade" because Sonia Henie fell in black dye before the scene was completed and the scene was changed to a fadeout to a ski chase scene to finish the picture.
@@scottstacey7447 I get your point, really. But for somebody that isn’t in high school, or hasn’t worked at a high school, I just enjoyed the movie.
@@belgiumgirl8970 "Don't confuse me with the facts"...Bury your head in the sand...Sounds very Trumpist. Some of us are capable of enjoying a movie, warts and all...Don't hide the truth just because it is an inconvenient truth...I suppose you believe in Santa Claus and Jesus Christ as well?
tjhs1967 - Thanks for the upload. Through such movies I've begun to appreciate Jane Wither's talent more. 7/2014

:O really!?
Thomas Jefferson Highschool sure looks great back than , today they Destroy the beauty of the school , adding buildings , destroying drill field. What a shame. I'm true Red & Blue. Class of 1980.
The demographic breakdown of the 1,829 students enrolled in 2012-2013 was: Male - 52.7% Female - 47.3% Native American/Alaskan - 0.1% Asian/Pacific islanders - 0.2% Black - 2.1% Hispanic - 95.4% White - 2.1% Multiracial - 0.1% 86.6% of the students were eligible for free or reduced lunch.[2] In 1938 the school had 2,394 students. At the time over 60% of the students were scheduled to matriculate to universities and colleges.[10] In addition there were 89 teachers, including 56 female teachers. The student-teacher ratio at the time was 25 to 1. Hablo espanol, I guess.
things do change over time indeed. its always been the way of things, but you have your memories, thats what counts 🧓
I'm currently a Junior at Thomas Jefferson High School. I love hearing the history behind the mustang nation. Love watching how traditions changes. I'm a band member
I was in the back row of the Cornet in '67. Was awesome! Enjoy every minute there and with your friends. My Class is fewer in numbers, but embrace every additional minute together as we support and banter back and forth!
