    SOPHIE (à Albert, gaîment) Frère! voyez! Voyez le beau bouquet! J'ai mis, pour le Pasteur, le jardin au pillage! Et puis, l'on va danser! Pour le premier menuet c'est sur vous je compte... (observant Werther et grondait légèrement) Ah! le sombre visage! (naïvement et gentiment) Mais aujourd'hui, monsieur Werther, tout le monde est joyeux! le bonheur est dans l'air! Du gai soleil pleine de flamme dans l'azur resplendissant la pure clarté descend de nos fronts jusqu'à notre âme! Tout le monde est joyeux! le bonheur est dans l'air! Et l'oiseau qui monte aux cieux dans la brise qui soupire... est revenu pour nous dire que Dieu permet d'être heureux! Tout le monde est joyeux! Le bonheur est dans l'air! Tout le monde est heureux!

    Magnifique !! Vocalement exemplaire , et pour l'interprétation aussi .Mieux que Dessay ( qui intellectualise beaucoup trop comme toujours , là où il n'y a pas lieu .)Mieux que Devielle dont la voix est insipide .Je reste cependant toujours très attaché à la version de Callas un jour de 1956 à Milan en live : fabuleuse version très engagée ,très franche dans les attaques ,et avec la meilleure version de la romance " pâle et blonde dort sous l'eau profonde la Willis au regard de feu ..." Car c'est la seule à savoir restituer ce mystère et créer une atmosphère surnaturelle et hantée de cette page musicale .

      I hope the Met will realize its luck to now hold 2 (at least) worthy successors to the Sutherland and Sills (Oropesa and Morley) to program this repertoire (Les Huguenots/Robert Le Diable/Esclarmonde...) in the coming years.

    This version is beautiful especially since it’s being sung by a real coloratura soprano. Nowadays lyric and dramatic sopranos are singing just about everything regardless of fach and it shows.

    • @alejandrotm
      @alejandrotm Год назад

      Coloratura is a cross-cutting label for any voice that is flexible enough to perform agility passages, from the acutest soprano to the deepest bass. True is that singers with lighter voices are more likely to become coloratura singers, so coloratura basses are one in a million and coloratura soprani are more common, particularly for light and light-lyric soprani. The most valuable asset for Lisette is that she keeps her voice agile for coloratura roles, but over time, her middle and low notes are more developed, so her voice carries longer and stronger. She may never develop to sing verismo roles and romantic heavier heroines, but so far she can increase her repertoire with new roles that are fit for her almost every year and be a success at them.

    When you fall in love with a great voice for the first time. I feel the same way about Oropesa as I did when I first heard Sills live late in 1969 or Pavarotti a few years later at his first Carnegie Hall recital. There have been many more singers since those first few years of opera love. I felt the same way about Oropesa the first time I heard her as Nanetta in FALSTAFF. Since then it has been steady admiration and fascination as this wonderful soprano has show her wide variety of roles and musical styles. There's not much that I can add to what's been said here. Except her sense of any musical structure is faultless and original. She shapes phrases into the most musical statements. I can't wait to her what she'll do next. Fortunately, the rest of the world is catching up. Brava, Lisette.
