I found the stabilisation for handheld video soooo bad, seems worse than it was on the Z6II. The Zf is much better in this regard than the Z6III but compared to a Panasonic S5II or Sony A7IV, the Nikons really suck in this regard.
@@pichlerphoto I can’t really comment on that because I haven’t compared the video stabilisation with other cameras. But I didn’t find the stabilisation on the Z6iii to be bad.
Back button focus or just on shutter release button?

@@adamcook6396 thank you mate! I love it. I’ve been experimenting quite a bit with the video side of it as well. I’ve set AF to Wide Area AF (C1) and have subject detection set to Auto.

Great photos. Which focus mode are you using and are you using auto white balance?
@@urbantactical148 thank you 🙏🏻 I use Wide Area AF (C1) and have subject detection set to Auto. For these shots I’m pretty sure I had white balance set to Natural Light. I usually manually set it for night time shooting

This seems like it would be the long introduction to a film
yeah you know what this is a bit refreshing watching this after seeing how 7th era (other Melbourne photographer) shoots. It's nice to see some trigger restrain and trying not to always shoot 10 frames burst shots for every single composition. you stop, recompose, and wait after every shot. i can even see you looking down a potential subject and reconsidering shooting which is good to see given a lot of people would shoot anyways and come home with hundreds of duds. there's actual thought and consideration behind every shot you take rather than the shoot and pray mentality of what i see these days with modern and capable systems.

How much does a camera like the one you use cost?
@@cristhopherjimenez963 I use a Nikon Z5 and in this video I paired it with a 50mm F1.8. So you could get that combo for around 3k (AUD)

Appreciate it mate! I’ll probably start to talk a bit more in future POV videos. Talking to a camera by yourself in public takes a bit of getting used to haha

It’s crazy to me how many of you pros edit without the histogram 😮
I’m certainly not a pro! But I know by slightly underexposing a photo you can retain information in the shadows and avoid blowing out the highlights. So it usually results in a more balanced spread image detail when editing 🙏🏻

Thanks man! Only around inner city suburbs. I did a little bit of shooting in Camberwell too when I was living there
Do you use presets and do u spend a lot of time editing?
I use my own presets as a base and then make adjustments and mask areas that need it. If I’m editing a series of photos, after the first one I can usually copy over the same settings and it might take me 5-10 minutes. I try not to over-edit
