7.5 cm IG gun awesome pick for early combat. But its days of usefulness will be coming to close soon. I comment before I see video, but I think it generally tails off day 10 to 14, if not earlier. Interesting to see how effective it is this round. Is this hardcore or normal difficulty setting?

IIRC, the newer M4s get a better kind of AP ammo, and some American tanks have an extra MG if you put a soldier on it (I know the Stewarts do). If you get Call-In Stage 3 and sell the outdated/surplus equipment (2.8cm AT gun, 3.7 pak, armored cars, etc), then you can fit more tanks in with those sweet .50s.

really well defended, that went about as well as you could've hoped! unfortunate for the AI that their pathfinding took them through the chokepoint on the left, but definitely not a bad thing for you! also regarding the penetration chart, i guess i didn't explain it very well, sorry! there's no way (that i know of) to change the displayed shell type in the pre-battle screen. if you want to see, for example, the penetration value of an APC-HE shell in your 4.7cm gun, then you need to make sure that it has one in the chamber when you finish the mission. then when you're preparing for the next battle, the penetration chart will display the values for an APC-HE shell because that's what's loaded in the gun. this is a useful trick for your own units too, as many guns/vehicles carry different types of AP round that are more or less effective at different ranges (APCBC vs APCR for example). alternatively, you can use the unit viewer in the extras menu to view the penetration charts for any unit, although this requires quiting and reloading your save every time so it's not ideal. glad to see you making use of mines! they are INSANELY cost-effective if you take the time to use them properly. i dont tend to bother with AP mines personally, as the sheer volume of enemy infantry renders them useless unless you plant them in the hundreds. AT mines however are incredibly powerful! if you want more of them (and believe me you do!), bring along an engineering supply truck. not only will these resupply your engineers with mines via the supply circle (like an ammo crate), they also carry a BUNCH of AT and AP mines in their inventory (i think around 60-80 of both), meaning if you're quick with your micro you can lay some really significant AT minefields for safe and easy kills! if you do wanna use AP mines, click and drag with right mouse to set up a line 2-3 mines thick - it's way quicker/easier than doing them individually! as for your research, i'd definitely skip the lee and spend three points on a sherman, either variant is fine as the differences are very minor (in-game). then spend another two points on a rifle squad, the difference in damage output/survivability between tier 1 and 2 infantry is so important, particularly when you start encountering high tier enemy troops more frequently. looking forward to the next video, keep it up! that was a tough fight! i think you could've done better if you slowed down a little during the actual attack - you were very methodical at first but then it seemed you got a little frustrated and just started throwing more units in (it happens to me too hahha). overall i think you played well though! some hints/thoughts: 6:16 the penetration value on units displays whatever shell is loaded - in this case both guns had HE shells loaded, so the penetration chart was the same for both (all HE shells show 62mm penetration across all ranges on all guns regardless of calibre). if you want to see the penetration chart for a captured gun you have to make sure it has AP loaded before you finish the mission! 31:55 you read my mind ahahha, you should definitely focus on getting better infantry, even if it's only tier 2! i somehow didnt figure this out for ages but the brackets before an infantry unit - (1) to (4) - indicate the tier, with 1 being lowest and 4 being highest. a plus sign, like (2+) or (3+) indicates units that come with veterancy already. you should definitely be using tier 2 infantry at the bare minimum going forward! 38:25 this was really unlucky, pretty much a worst-case scenario for your infantry. when a massive threat like that appears, you should try and prioritise getting units to safety and then neutralising the threat. you probably could have saved most of the infantry squad and definitely the mortar if you ordered them to sprint away. otherwise well played, just very unlucky with the rifle grenade accuracy (those trees were a nightmare!) 42:37 when you're getting mortared, always disperse your infantry as much as possible. when they're bunched up like that, it just takes one lucky shot from the mortar - and they WILL get lucky, I swear the AI cheats with mortar accuracy in this game! 46:08 that was actually an AT grenade that took out your tank, not a mortar round - you can even see the soldier that threw it pick himself back up after the explosion! generally speaking you should always try to have your tanks behind your infantry, or at the very least surrounded by them, so that enemy soldiers cant sneak up and do things like that! again, sorry for leaving a wall of text below your video, ahahha! it's very easy to point out mistakes in hindsight, and very difficult to recognise when you're making them in-game - i've definitely been guilty of all of the above before! hopefully this helps you out a little. looking forward to the next video! oh, and for your research, you should definitely get the rifle squad! if you want to go the ranger route for your infantry, get the veteran squad too, otherwise i'd save your points and put them towards the lee; you're gonna need the 75mm when panzer 3s start showing up!

thanks for the shout out! glad i could be some help (: here's another tip: the M20 isn't the only vehicle to have cool stuff stashed in the inventory. the M3A1 halftrack comes with 24(!) AT mines in it, so on defence missions you can quickly drive it out to the front, have the gunner jump out and lay a bunch of mines, then have it drive back and join the line as a very capable anti-infantry vehicle. and of course, it can carry a whole squad of infantry too!

7:55 the displayed rewards are the same, but higher risk missions have a multiplier that nets you more resources! definitely worth considering at the very least

What’s up doc, why no M20? 4:39 It has .50 and a M1 bazooka in the inventory. A great starting vehicle for infantry support and for supplying a squad with a bazooka on day 1 🤷‍♂️ Great vid, enjoyed watching 👍

ik I'm late to the party but I love me some GoH content! I see you tend to use your infantry as a whole squad, it's usually better to split them up into teams of 3 or 4, it's more micro-intensive but it lets you be way more flexible with positioning, leapfrogging between cover, etc anyway I really enjoyed this episode! gonna go watch the rest now (:

Excellent battle! Really enjoyed the video :) One little tip I want to give: when you're looting dead guys for ammo, you can just click (or maybe double-click) the little arrows between the two soldier inventories (at the top of that window) to transfer everything over instead of having to double click each individual icon of ammo or whatever.

Don't be too hard on yourself. Finland seems to be the most difficult country to play in this game. However, a lot of the same principles apply to the other factions, especially Germany. This campaign has made you better at the game if you can remember the lessons.

FYI at 9:10 the screen went black, can still hear but black screen. at 29:10 it comes back on. Sorry for the loss ..... next time!

I know this is an old vid by now, but you didn't realise you were charging up the hill through the minefield. Look for tiny brown signs with a skull and crossbones on them. There will be 2 signs, and the minefield will be between the 2 blank sides of the signs. If your guys are on the side where they can see the skull and crossbones, they're safe.

I really like watching you play GoH but i think you should restart the conquest. They are so far ahead of you in research points there's no coming back. If you want to make a comeback Build the coastal gun at the first point and them make apush with more infantry
