Hi. I am just playing DCS. Helicopters are fun!

DCS/ECW: UH-1H Huey vs Mi-24P Hind [uncut, uncommented]
Today I was lucky and got some _well-needed!_ helicopter PvP practice.
Was a long fight.
Was a a lot of fun! :)
I was lucky and got his tail rotor. Not sure when though. I guess at ~5:30.
(Still two squads of Standard troops loaded and most of my fuel, so my Huey was a bit .. lethargic.)
Chapters:
00:00 Spot something and try to figure out what it is (not on EWR, it's another helo!)
00:35 Try to sneak up unseen
01:50 Definitely a Hind! Prepare for engagement
02:20 First bullets fired
08:20 Nice hits
09:30 Final hits

Rather uneventful morning on Enigma Cold War Server. Dropped two recon troops, returned and got some standard troops, returned to the enemy sector and dropped them eight times until sector was cleared. Landed in some tight spots. Well... I couldn't fly my DCS helicopters for two weeks and was suffering severe withdrawals. But I found a worthy substitute: Chopper Commando (1988/1990, DOS). This was just a quick fun experiment. The ships are heading with 27kts against the wind of 25kts, which sums up to more or less 50kts. There is a bit of a swell as well. I think I'll play around with it more, different wind directions, worse weather, ...

Was going to peacefully drop my recon troops, when suddenly tracers passed me, shot by enemies behind the ridge in front of me. I broke left to find cover behind "hills" to drop my troops there, before continuing my flight. Just to show someone it's possible to reduce speed while staying relatively close to the ground. Not saying it's beautiful, but it did work. ;o)

First time I tried dropping troops at those targets. I was curious, tried sea targets, was ok, bit boring, probably won't repeat soon. I cannot call-in recon missions on that map (bug is being investigated). When I flew there out of curiosity before, the oil platforms were already destroyed. Flying Huey on the Enigma Coldwar Server, in the wester part of Syria. I was going to drop three SOF troops to destroy three infrastracture targets shown on the map, as well as a recon troop. Not sure what exactly was shooting at me. The enemy group had at least a Shilka and a ZSU-57-2.
