Ik ben geboren na de tijd van Wim Kan, echter na onderzoek ben ik er achter gekomen dat Wim Kan en mijn oud oom enkele interacties hebben gehad tijdens hun Japanse gevangenschap in de tweede wereldoorlog. Dit alles is de reden waarom ik deze video geupload heb.

Dont mind the stutters and artifacts this is because the original video contains stutters and video artifacts. the ehancement process just magnifies those things.

Good video. My Grandfather, Douglas Burnett Jennings aka Jack, was on the Oosterbeek drop with 10 Para. He was shot and was subsequently captured at Wolfheze. He, with what was left of his comrades and others, was then marched to Stalag XI-B in Falingbostel and remained there until being Liberated in 1945. It was reported that when he was liberated he weighed approx 6 stone or approx 40kg due to there not being enough food for the prisoners to go around. I myself served for 24 years in the Army and look forward to visiting Holland next year for the 80th Anniversary.

l watch many of these l can find, always looking for my dad in the film, one time he did appear in a film on Ortona italy 😊
What shocks me is how thin the children were in the parade at the end of the film.. 1945 was a hard year for the Dutch, at least until liberation..
Germany starved them for 4 years before the Canadians showed up and ran them off.. then we bombed the Netherlands with all the food we could find. 👍✌🇨🇦
