The reality is that, even IRL, bombers are strategic weapons. War thunder has very little room for strategy, it is almost purely tactical. So bombers suffer.

This needs to be brought to a bigger audience , I’ve spoke to one of Asmongolds mods about this and he will bring it to him to delve into live on stream at some point.

Ah. War thunder. The game that i wasted alot of time on. I remember playing the tu4. Or trying to. Since by the time i had grided enough to be able to play it. Missiles were a thing. So because of its br i would get one shot form across the map by a keyboard controled ATGM or AAM every single round. Truely a good game.

bombers would be fine if you didn't have to combat XP-50 of which the only prototype exploded on its first flight and wyvern which is a fucking 50's jet engine powered plane

If a person is in a place that’s so bad and dark that a game ban is the last straw towards the decision of ending their own LIFE only means that it already was very bad, something way more personal was going on in his life and the ban likely contributed to his last decision but I don’t know if the devs can be held accountable for his decision. Either way, condolences to the family.

Enduring Confrontation was the only thing keeping me in the game, years ago. When they dropped it I left. Got into IL-2, and then DCS. I have no regrets and would never go back.

We have so many op planes now that bombers cant compete they should either make bomber wings more durable again or make ai gunners better but not both alternatively they could add better aiming perspective for gunners having the camera actually be at the gunners station and add balistics computers for bombers that had them

i bought the f4s but i was level 30 and had rank 5 but and with the f4s i got 5 tk ever in it and i got top tier so fast but you should only spend money on this game if you play it a lot i got the f15 and im going for the rest of usa

People still believe in muh "algorithm" excuse? It would be great to see the plane statistics and how "algorithm's" choses br changes and how they affect statistical performance. But one thing we are never shown is those statistics, so de facto, "algorithm" is whatever gaijin wants it to be.

Almost like air superiority is a thing, and that the reality of tank warfare was based not around game rock paper scissor but real problems. There is a reason the mbt replaced heavy tanks, heavy tanks weren't good at "holding" or pushing a position, with few exceptions like the churchill. Honestly mate, the whole idea about capture zones is to force players into the battle. moving them is pointless, your supply idea is janky, escorting ai would just end up in the enemy team going banzai on the AI, killing them faster than they can be defended. It's all nice to think, but you should think it through too. I agree tho, the grind is horrible.

I don't think the conversation of "balance" in terms of changing the vehicle should EVER be included in War Thunder. Make the Vehicles as realistic as possible, and let the BR system sort out the "balance". As for the AI gunners, for an Aced crew, I'd want them to be as realistically effective as a highly trained veteran gunnery crew in real life. Moreover that vehicles that have fire control computers like the B-29 Bomber should of course have even more of an edge in terms of their gunner performance.

The only fun way to play bombers is to fly in formation with a friend or two. Otherwise you have to either turn around at the start until out of bounds turns you back or fly in a large curve and hope you are not spotted. About 60% of my encounters end in me dead, while only 15% result in a kill and no mortal damage. The obly thing I really want is guns that you can reload without emptying your belt(and a timer) and guns that dont jam after 4 seconds of firing. The choice is alwase "do I try and snipe at 1k out so I can try and take no damage but have overheating guns if i miss and he gets close, or accept the damage and wait for them to close in".

In my opinion they need to have Fighters spawning with bombers. Bombers never flew on their own in those days they always had escorts. And as you can climb end escort a bomber it takes forever and the bomber will usually have to Circle and wait for the fighter to get enough altitude and by that time the other team is already halfway there. Fighters should be able to spawn with bombers to be their protection and escort

People don't understand bombers greatest advantage is diving they can quite often fly faster than most fighters without breaking up and you can do that off of spawn dive towards the bomb zone and easy money and resources. There's a reason bombers don't share their thoughts with others

Sim/realisitc battles with bombers is an easy way to farm planes since all you gotta do is focus on destroying the bases. But for the most part, bombers are easy to shoot down.

Air combat i believe back in the early 90s had it to where you crewed a bomber a bombardier gunners the works. That was a blast!

lets use me as a prime example me starts playing wt again wanting the the mig 29 cus its the closest thing to the su27 midgrind at like rank 3 or 4 su27 gets dropped me omg now i can actually get the real thing me keeps grinding reaches mig21 f13 oo missiles cool also missiles does fukall chases everything but the target and guns more or less useless me buys premium mig 23 missiles still does fuckall and chases the missiles the enemy launches etc me finally unlocks su17m4 making the su27 researchable also me i just want it at this point im sick of the pain me buys gl for boost research me gets su27 me grinds upgrades me happy all in all it was fun uintill missiles got introduced and luck played a part since i got none of it...

Snail nerf the grind now, please. The grind is the biggest problem, but they won't do anything about it because premiums

For bad planes you can kind of just point at any minor nation TT(looking at you rank 5 sweden) and most of the planes will be mid or bad.

there was once a test for new game modes with ai and once was defending capture points it was really fun

Besides the game modes completely negating bombers, I will still say that delicate bombers are a massive issue. The problem is that there is no incentive for friendly fighters to act as escorts, so you’re left hung out to dry in every game. And as a former British bomber main, I still despise the Do-335 and their P2W Wheraboo pilots with every fiber of my being.

Other than the CAS the tank dynamic you speak of is just a garbage skill issue take. As long as you pay attention a heavy tank can wipe the floor with any team like any light or medium tank

Despite the huge shitstorm last year, this issue has persisted unchanged. And Gaijin has no intention of doing anything about it. Because none of the drones that bomb in their 30 Dollar Wyverns understand these issues. The War Thunder community and the devs are the most regarded devs and community I've ever encountered. Bar maybe the CoD losers and Ubisoft customers.

why is ship ai more accurate and detect farther than the bombers thats the only buff i can think they need tbh

This isnt csgo and even cs fails this badly sure you know how to move but the recoil, don't move and shoot except when..., strats, ect ect... this is a common issue with games which focus on pvp is often a lack of explanation beyond the absolute basics
