    Most manufacturers/OEM require for the vehicle to be unloaded for a vehicle to be successfully and accurately calibrated and that the calibration could be completely inaccurate if the vehicle is loaded........so my question is does the technician have to perform the calibration from outside of the vehicle with a wireless scan tool utilizing Bluetooth or wifi connections???? I think this is a point that should be made clear to all ADAS technicians, considering technicians come in all different shapes, sizes and weight classes, no disrespect to anyone, just seems like a good question to ask

    Rick White delivered some great information! So much wisdom, coaching. Glad to know I may have some leverage when it comes time to discuss compensation at my job interview. The average age of a tech is 48-50 years old and for every 3 techs retiring 1 comes in!? Wow, back in 2021. $20/hr or $40k/yr is not a lot of money in January 2024 (yeah i know this is from 2021). I'd say $50k would be fair to start, considering the complexity of a modern vehicle and the skills necessary to repair them. I agree, the tools should belong to the shop as the business can deduct the expense in taxes. Something that would make me happy as an individual in my job/career would be a schedule that offers me the work/life balance I'm looking for.

    I had to watch this one twice, ADAS is no joke! I'd still want to learn on the older mechanical tape version just to get the experience under my belt. But the camera based upgrades sure sped up the frame setup so that one would be best in a busy shop.

    Thank you for highlighting the importance of performing a pre-scan and a post-scan with any ADAS service. Also, for emphasizing the importance of checking the wheel alignment prior to doing a calibration. It's incredible how many other services require a calibration, and the trend is growing!

    I enjoyed the breakdown of all the sensors and their functions I might encounter in a typical ADAS equipped vehicle. Very useful information, especially the tip about bent or broken sensor brackets! I'll keep that in mind when troubleshooting calibration failures.

    The gas tank needs to be full to perform the calibration, so when in normal conditions after calibration, the gas tank is almost empty, the camera will not calibrate?

    • @CuttheBuullShit
      @CuttheBuullShit 7 месяцев назад

      I guess the car knows that the tank is near empty and compensate the cameras... but in this case why wouldn't the car compensate while calibrating? since it has access to fuel level reading... this is an excellent question now I can't sleep.

    • @marcusviniciusrebolo
      @marcusviniciusrebolo 7 месяцев назад

      @@CuttheBuullShit it makes sense!! About the calibration moment, maybe the car doesn’t look the other variables and expect to be as per the definition (e.g. with full tank…). It happens because this reduce complexity. But this is only a guess… So now maybe you can sleep well 😂
