I prefer using plastcrete catalyst for shard diiffractor with this and overall its a fun build but as you said it works only in specific mission and is not as easy to use as some other engie builds

You should see my melee driller build... I'm a HARDcore driller main with over 225 hours of IN-MISSION experience on driller, and I've invented the best melee build you'll EVER see, just within the last 8 hours! The build will potentially struggle on dreadnought missions, but not industrial sabotage unless solo, and this build, unlike yours, uses LESS AMMO! This build's primary weapon is the PICKAXE!!! Enjoy your teasers! 😁 You should take out the See You In Hell perk if you're just gonna freeze the enemies before they even hit you, otherwise it's rather completely useless. I will tell you this though, if you have See You In Hell active AND you drank skull crusher ale, you will ONE-TAP grunts with a NORMAL pickaxe swing to ANY part of the body, and with only one of the two active, you one-tap grunts in the head! My build appears to be completely original and never thought up before, and after seeing yours, I've concluded is superior in every way. 🤷‍♂

Cool video. Cryo vampire is my main driller build. If anyone is looking for a way to play this but isn't comfortable with the ranged weakness, try out snowball for mactera and heavy hitter EPC for those annoying web and acid spitters.

You should try the bulldog with weakpoint damage instead of explosive ammo, its a beast for single target damage, which compensates the main weakness of the thunderhead

Mortar Rounds are pretty cool, but situational Overclock. It's mostly efficient on tight spaces or in well drilled bunkers with tunnel on 25-35 degree elevation. Just put 1 shell in there every 1,5 seconds - and you are good. Also, it has it's uses in defensive missions, exept deep drilling. But you must focus smaller bugs in the first place, because that's what you are. A f**king anti-bug mop.

Personaly I would take the Drak with Aggressive Venting with the reload to overheat and movement speed increase on overheat for my primary

I have a super high killcount support scout build. I find shotgun special powder is just way too useful so of course i use it on my build. But I use the deepcore assault rifle focused on ammo efficiency and accuracy with electrified reload. One shot is all most bugs need (I only play H5 unless playing with greenbeards) and when you reload they slow down like they're in a slow grenade and take damage. If you can track which bugs you've shot and not miss getting a glancing blow on anywhere they can be hurt, "omae wa mou shinderu" as the saying goes. For tougher bugs they only require a single refresh on the subscription to shock therapy. Praetorians i forget may need 2 refreshes or just 1 as well. Rival tech is extremely weak against electrical damage and basically will die in seconds the moment you reload. The roaming turrets become more slow and docile as well as fall to the floor until they die. None of rival tech needs a refresh except boss fight tentacles and the mini-bosses such as the prospector. Rival tech on H5 dies to an electrified reload as quickly as it does to a flame damage build flamethrower. Basically this build is a slow killer M1 garand with a shit ton of ammo and the ability to slow down tough or fast opponents and clear any wave of bugs with a single clip of ammo. I've gone whole missions with other dwarves fighting countless waves of bugs and being the big kill hog and still not take resupplies.

Have you considered a survivability build? Passive resistance near deposit and passive resistance when max rof on autocannon, with a really slow max rof and faster max rof achievement. Pairs well with ammo heavy builds. Single target savage still isn't bad, and you take very little damage if you get swarmed. 22222 tritech coil and you can low-charge triple shot in 120 degree increments all around you in under a quarter of a second to instantly fear every bug in a massive circle around you to get out of jail free while also not using much ammo at all. Pair that with born ready and you have zero downtime or vulnerability. 22222 tritech also makes any mactera plague or other type of infestation a non issue as you can continuously apply fear for as long as you like. I timed the autocannon on my build and it can keep shooting for 50 seconds, meaning you have more than plenty of time to kill, born ready, or anything before switching to your coil. Additionally if you have teammates, bugs around you will still fear but in a smaller radius, if you decide to shoot one shot each at the bugs chasing your teammates. You can take a beating and take a shit ton of pressure from your fellow dwarves with little input from you. It lets you save on using shields as well.

For the true speed demons: 1)the extra firerate perk for the boomstick gives you an INSANE speedboost when you shoot both shots. However its very situational as you can only see the benefits if in a big cave. 2) if youre not playing solo (probably you can still do it but its really hard) you could also use the m1000 with hocerclock for extra air movement control (therefore more speed) and another way to easily clutch fall damage
