Thanks a lot for this. You are right that all the other vids seem to be for different style keys. My key is the same as yours so this was a big help. And probably prevented me from damaging my key!

If you’re having a problem with the key, trying to push that little lever back, just grab a small screwdriver and insert it in the little indentation and pull it back and you will open the key fob battery compartment no problem

Thank you. But what an unnecessarily complicated way to change a simple battery. The guys at Mercedes should try to do something simpler.

I think the reason why yours was so difficult to open is that you've got the wrong batteries installed. Your video shows CR2032, not the CR2025 that I found in my 2008 SL550 key. The CR2032 is also 3V, but with more capacity and therefore thicker than the CR2025.

Great video, clear and simple. Works for my 2009 SL550. Apparently, not all Mercedes key fobs open the same way. Trying of open my daughter's 2014 E350 won't work with this method. It works for the one I have and the guy's 2007 in the video.
