6:17 I think another awesome feature of the Thorn SHY036 is the tool free link adjust system. The side of the link is spring loaded and you pull it out and rotate to remove. Brilliant!

How large does the first watch wear? I normally don't like small watches on my 7" wrist but it looks like it could look bigger.

odd i picked one up a couple months ago and the markers are lumed on mine, its not very strong compared to the hands but after a 5sec blast from a tourch they do glow

Personally I like steel over titanium, mostly because it is more scratch resistant. Also titanium and steel seem to bond tightly to each other making it harder to adjust bracelets and case backs. Could just be the titanium watches I've bought. For now, I'll stick to steel which is why I wanted to see the tandorio steel version.

I just bought a root beer homage and i can't fault it. Its superior to any high street fashion watch and even to anything below £500 really. Also been putting my own unique ones together. Costs about £80 all in but once again the quality will match any high street watch under £500 and even above.

Funny. I think though that Wes forgot about field watches. Heck if these watch designs could survive WW2 then they could survive a zombie apocalypse. Still waiting for a review of the tandorio sandblast, a steel version of the voyager.

The red square (first watch, blue version) seems to be a strong 'homage' to the Brew x Worn & Wound Metric. A limited edition watch no longer available and one I like the looking of very much. However, reviews don't fill me with confidence, which is a shame.

Good picks, Wes! In my opinion, in a SHTF situation, there will probably be no electricity so great lume would be imperative. In my collection, my choices from less to most expensive are: Addiesdive MY-H2, Steeldive 1970, and my Seestern Sub 600T. I would also prefer an automatic because battery replacement might be difficult. I would probably also remove the band from a quartz watch and keep it in my pocket just to use to periodically adjust the time on the automatic.

Apparently an EMP from a nuclear blast is unlikely to fry a quartz watch, and in a situation where you might not have any other time reference, accuracy is important, so ideally you'd have a high accuracy solar quartz with a perpetual calendar. I don't know if such a watch exists, but there are plenty of regular accuracy solar quartz watches with a perpetual calendar, and what's a few minutes a year in the grand scheme of things?. I'd suggest a Casio W-S210H because it's a perpetual calendar solar quartz with moon phase and tide graph.
