TGN
Добавлен 3 апр 2017
TGN (AKA The Goal Net AKA The Goalie Network) is about the gear. It's not about becoming influencer or me the person and that's why all content is created from the 1st person point of view. Over the 5+ years since TGN has existed, strong relationships have been built up with the major equipment OEMs. Those relationships are used to get insider information and deep dives on all the new products released.
Note: No reviews are paid for by any brands and there is no fee to appear on this channel or TGN social media. Much of the gear reviewed on this channel is provided by the companies to test, but that's it. All reviews and opinions are my own and no reviews are censored by brands. If I don't like something, I will tell you!

EFlex 6 vs Axis 2

Note: Got my specs wrong between what I ordered and stock!!! Axis 2 = Loose fit leg channel for stock. I ordered tight fight as a custom option. EFlex 6 = Tight fit stock Note 2: RUclips glitch! From minute 9-11 roughly, the video gets weirdly cropped. It shows up correctly in my video editor.

Review: Bauer Hyperlite Glove & Blocker
The new xf pads are better sliding then my hyperlites. Not by much but there better. Had no problems going from my hyperlites to my son’s CCM XF pads. From flexible to stiff ccms was surprising. I didnt think I would like the ccms. Good pads.
is it worth the upgrade from s21 - s24 ? If I can save money and buy the older model is it just as good? or should I spring the extra money for the S24 version? It's about a 300 dollar difference right now.
I've been looking for both a history of the 960 and a comparison of the two most recent versions, so your video was perfect!
surprised you didnt mention the shadow thigh rise is not straight up like the Mach it bends more in like the Ultrasonic did for goalie with a more narrow butterfly
My pads have always been US stiffness, I did not try the X Stiff Mach when I ordered Mach, kept with the US spec.
@@thegoalnet5915 interesting okay cuz I heard that the shadow thigh rise bends in more like the ultrasonic did and the Machs go straight up
@@josesharks20 Bauer has 1-5 on their stiffness profile. Mach and 2S were like 5 and US / Shadow are 4. The shape is probably slightly different with the different stiffness
Editorial Note: I don't suck at goalie, I suck at shooting and sauce, haha
*footage missing*
@@MrDcooper47 huh?
@@thegoalnet5915 Footage of your playing is missing. So jury is still out. ;)
ohhhhhh, that's actually lie. Somewhere on the channel there is LiveBarn footage. Black Brian's pads, enjoy
thanks for staying out of the camera
Huh?
Still wearing the 2018 model of the mask aside from it being really heavy compared to modern these two more modern ones and the foam absorbing everything so it has to be squeezed out after each practice, the mask itself is an absolute tank
Bought a 960 last year after coming from a Wall W8 Shell with custom mods by Doug Wager and the first thing I noticed and hated really was the amount of sweat it holds. Like I always dry my gear after every skate with a fan and dehumidifier and it was still holding sweat after a day or two occasionally. Nice to hear that's improved. The other thing that I noticed immediately going to a 960 was that I felt like I was deaf. The 960 muffled things WAY WAY more than any other mask I've used.
Did you like the dampening? That’s by design
@@thegoalnet5915 I haven't had a ringer in it, but I also never did in my Wall W8 either but I could at least hear out of it. Was so shocking that first skate in it, I was like there is no way this is normal? After reading up and speaking with some equipment manager friends in the AHL and NHL as well as the owner of SkinFX wraps who deals with a ton of pros and their helmets. I found out it's common and by design like you said.
@@thegoalnet5915 I'm not even kidding I got a ringer tonight for the first time ever in it 🤣.
True is more popular and the new CCM are coming this season . 😊
@@nemtall that’s literally exactly what I said? True and Bauer are the two most popular and CCM seems to have a lot of Junior goalies coming up
Is the new one slightly lighter?
I have not weighed them, but not, nothing stands out with that. Kraibon is about better dampening compared to Smacwrap
very good and helpfull
I recently got my hands on the eflex6 in 33+1 and i have to say its probably the best fitting pad at retail for me, I currently use true 32+2 9x4 and before that 20.2 32+1. Bauer thigh rises are just to tall for me. I really didnt like how much the eflex6 wraps my leg but it wasnt that bad to get use to. Probably the easiest 5hole seal no matter what i am doing with knees always together and pads never hit each other, only down side for , and this could be retail issue, I HATE speedskin and the pads slide like garbage. not sure if having weave like my trues would make a difference but the true pads slide at least 50% easier
I didn't find that EFlex 6 with weave slide very well. As indicated in the video, the XF slides way better due to the new shapes
"Big fan of the crossform strap, I don't like using wrist straps now" So is this the prelude to you finally using a Warrior catcher? :P
Maybe your friends at monkey.ca will make dreams come true
Why couldn't they put the infinite redound foam on the blocker face to get those puck away faster! It would be perfect !
Interesting idea, guessing it’s something with the physics or size of a blocker compared to a pad
@@thegoalnet5915 maybe on your next set you can ask them if they could put infinite rebound on the blocker? Also maybe on the cuff of the goalie glove ?
ik you like to do your own thing with graphics ( ive been watching for years) and no i havent watched this full video yet, but i do just gotta say man oh man, those yellow pads are absolutely revolting.
I am so glad you took the time to stop and share that thought! Thanks and keep up the good work

I’ve been using my px4 set for about 2 months now at 3-4 times a week all the way up to NHL off season training work with a team, I really enjoy the set and the game ready palm and agree with almost all of your statements. I actually ordered another of the same set of leg pads with slightly different specs after skating in my custom order.
I ordered a PX4 game ready glove, havent received it yet but just wanting a heads up on how long it took for u to fully break it in?
I think separating the pad and gloves reviews into separate videos would be a great idea.
Okay, will definitely do that with the next video! Got similar feedback on Instagram
Great video, I would appreciate more close up shots of the pads in your next video
Anything specific you’d like to see? Close ups of what?
@thegoalnet5915 the knee block and calf wraps how they attach and how the adjustment works. I had issues with my straps being too tight and couldn't loosen them enough for my preference. Maybe better for a review video? I understand the purpose of the video was to show differences between the two lines and your preference ls
@@mittentendy5893I had the same issue. I bought a sewing machine and made my own straps - if you pay for materials I’ll make you a set also
Great video!
Thanks!
Using stock insoles?
Yes
The tech is dam solid. Just don’t like the shape.
Looks are subjective, but not my favorite either
I need oneeeeeee 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
When are you planning on doing a review about these Bauer Konekt skates??
Did that awhile ago, please check my previous videos
But with the mach the did a deeper chanel on the boot so the pad Will sitt more like a hyperlite in size , but like before it was like If you were M in supreme you were L in hyperlite but thats gone
I'm assuming you gave up the mask many times over over the last 3 years But if you hadn't, i'll put out that we could use one for our son.
Is this pure hockey by Naperville 😂
Indeed
Wonderful review!
Thanks!
Saw this mask in store and it's way too heavy. The shape of the shell is kinda werird looking and the hidden strap attachments are not needed. Just harder to adjust now. Haven't seen a single NHL tendy use this on-ice in a game. Unfortunately I think this product is a miss.
Those 2X pros are max sty
Was there any explanation for the noticeable weight increase from other masks in the same category? Surely the foam isn’t the cause?
Link to buy film?
What is the black piece around the prolace Velcro portion?
Love the sound of your specs. Like the idea of locking the chest inside the pants. I want to use suspenders but they have always fallen inside or outside and been a total annoyance in-game. Also don’t want huge. So the smaller floaters sounds appealing. Wasn’t even going to consider Brian’s for my new chest but I’ll be looking at it now.
Note 2: RUclips glitch! From minute 9-11 roughly, the video gets weirdly cropped. It shows up correctly in my video editor.
Note: Got my specs wrong between what I ordered and stock!!! Axis 2 = Loose fit leg channel for stock. I ordered tight fight as a custom option. EFlex 6 = Tight fit stock
That's some funny looking ice.
Well The graphic looks like one that would go with the old team that used to exist in town
release date?
It's available now, that is my video from a store.
🤮
not the most descriptive comment...
Graphic should have went on the outer roll too. Whole graphic just doesnt look right to me.
not an option with CCM's current printing setup. The printing is not fully launched yet, I have a beta concept basically helping to test the printing capability
Just ordered an eflex 6.9 glove. Wanted to go back to a 580 Feel like I haven’t been able to catch at the top of my game since my Koho 580s. We will see. I’m 50 this year. Went with the 6.9 over custom since I may not need the gear to last years and I can only hope I like the break angle. Thanks for the overview.
good luck, enjoy
at 14:25 you talk about the NHL lacing in calf wrap. Looking at the customizer, the total custom pro shows exposed lacing where in your video the lacing looks enclosed with calf wrap. Trying to build a pair of pads to order and would like it as shown in your video and want to make sure that I get it right.
My lacing is exposed. It black lace on black carbon weave with bright lights. If you don't see it clearly, it's just a glare an optical illusion. On stock retail EF6, there are no laces at all there. You can at least see the "dents" where the lacing goes in and out
@@thegoalnet5915 Oh, okay. I read someone's comment that the lacing comes in contact with the ice and can accumulate snow and impact sliding. Based on this, avoiding the lace is probably the way to go.
Per ccm's custom goalie catalog, digi print is going to be called all out custom.
Yes, being fair that I don't believe all the info is formally in the public space yet.
@@thegoalnet5915 I get that.

Absolute fire!
If you take this off, will the adhesive ruin your pads?
Hey thanks for taking the time to post this review. I have been researching ALOT, and had narrowed it down to a few choices, and this review was the last piece I needed to hear. The irony is my was interest was less about the Matzilla and more about EZ Tee Hybrid. The Matzilla snuck in late to my research, but I had to give it a good look at its price point. Your comparison chapter showing the differences was huge for me. I was very concerned about the squishy stance situation followed by the "grabbiness" of the surface. I pulled the trigger on the EZ Tee Hybrid, and can't be happier. I bought the 4' x 10' to accommodate LH and RH players. It is still a little squishy for a stance mat, but not to the point I think it effects swing. I couldn't imagine the squish of the Matzilla... definitely would not have been happy with it based on your visual comparison. Thanks dude.
Awesome! I have a few more Mats to review. Got off track with the weather turning and playing outdoor golf 😂
