Introducing the Mammoth Overland Trailer
Wash the graffiti off. No cooking on rainy, windy, snowy days. It looks cool.
Lmao 🤣 🤣 🤣 I thought it was just a goof at a crazy prepper that went full tilt on their camper. But...towards the end, especially at the robber skit i realized, oh, theyre actually serious. 😂😂 Cool, i can launch my drone. And check my camera, and breath filtered nuclear air, but i gotta get outside to cook? Only after i peek up through my hatch hatch.
I love the creativity that went into making this. However, it would be better if it were camo, and if the kitchen had access from inside. Also- it's hard enough to find propane refills without a zombie apocalypse, it's not likely it would be any easier during a ELE. Still a lot of thought went into designing this.
The Very Most Important Thing is Where Do We Sleep and At Least 4 People, The Rest of it Comes Later, Thank you.
Guess not! Are you even still in business!?
i wanna know can this beast with stand cold arctic temperatures, say -45c
Is this masterpiece nuclear ☢️ winter proof?
It’s got a heavy rock n roll riff, so it must be good.
it's great you sre building for 6+ foot people noting have you a co2 test on human breath ande heat with suck out oxygen if fitting a 23-25 cabin space this would be a base inimum for black water solution toilet and grey water shower me 7'5" is doable though margin of error height ia roughly 8'6" is the vnorm looking at where i am today confined to a electronic wheelchair this would nedd to ne wider for wheelchair access and roof yould need to structtrually support a hoi hoist for transport between chair and toilet and chair and beds
That is one awesome setup. I don't reckon I could break this. Even in Australia. haha.
A nice toy for those who don't understand what the collapse of civilizations is. In what details will you discuss it? Which castles are built? You drove it for the marauders.
I haven't surfed videos on campers, just kept my focus on design elements and why conventional RV construction is definitely still stock in the 1980s bordello mode. I was posting in a DIY forum and so many normies got triggered I was banned for "spam." I see this and its as if my build was almost finished. This is an outstanding example of what campers will become. I even dreamed up a Brand name, Nosola by Sans Luan (imagine an oversized decal on the forward facing side like most Elkhart production.) The beveled roof with skylights is a great way to cut down crosswinds, along with widening the interior by placing the outer vertical walls OVER the wheels - instant roominess while still under legal limits. On a 5x8 slide in it means almost 80 inches from fingertip to tip, instead of banging your knuckles. I dont know why so many accept a restriction. Great bunk layout, the interior paneling invites bringing in a hose to wash it out as needed, with NO damage to the interior. I could go on for an hour - or you could have read it if the posts hadn't been taken down. My last was on the concept of "cruft", a programming tech term to describe old code still lingering in a program that should have been eliminated long ago. Cruft in RV construction is wooden studs, a queen mattress, wooden particle board boxes stacked for interior cabinets, that big vent fan sticking out of the roof destroying aerodynamics, on and on. Who wants to treat their rubber roof twice a year? Better materials and more innovative construction tech is available right now, but no, the industry is set in its ways and most buyers so set in residential construction tech they don't see how ships, planes, and space craft cannot possibly function that way. Good luck, this is the future of camping.
You actually believe this trailer is well designed?
@@bartman1857 That invites a lot of give and take over what "well designed" means, something we won't be able to determine and get any agreement from tens of thousands of other RV users. Anyone who owns a 30 ft would likely disagree - as I hinted when I said too many are made in the 1980's Bordello style. And OVERLAND trailer conforms to a lot of completely different specs - and those are much more closely aligned with military and expedition grade trailers, where the primary focus is on durability across a extreme spread of environment and terrain. While no one would like to see their trailer sliding down the road on it's side, all the video I've seen of conventional stick and tin shows them nearly exploding as they turn inside out scattering all their contents and churning them in dumpster fluff. I would expect and even demand an overlanding trailer to not only survive an off road laydown but also continue on the route. No classic RV from Elkhart would even attempt it as a stunt - like Timex - to prove it's integrity. Goes to, if you can't drag a garden hose inside and wash it out, is it even worth looking at for truly off grid use? My sense of serviceability may be quite a bit different from the average buyer from suburbia.
@tirod3 not sure what your answer is but its silly to compare an off-road trailer built by a small craft shop to a mass produced stick and tin Elkhart rig. These guys just designed and built this thing with un used airplane parts without much knowledge of how to build a trailer.
@@bartman1857 In your opinion, using lightweight aircraft parts is wrong? Where does Airstream fit into this view? When they relaunched post WWII the design crew had been working in the wartime aircraft industry (Lockheed among others) which sharpened their skills in design and fabrication. The intent of a comparison to a small shop custom rig vs mainstream production is about the same as comparing a Daytona coupe to a Corvette. In no way does the original Vettes available in the era compare - massively overweight underpowered and poor handling. It's a no brainer to see how the Daytona became named the first Historic Vehicle in the national register, qualifying in all four areas. The influence of early models in small industries is exactly what pushes the makers in the mainstream to move in new directions - they are certainly prompt in picking up new styling content from custom makers and making that mainstream. The idea of a durable, low maintenance and hard use trailer which can be easily cleaned and kept that way on the road vs carpeting, high power consumption appliances and a propensity to sell to those whose disposable income is directed on social credibility will eventually filter into the industry. An affordable, durable camper would be a great introduction to the industry on a wide spread basis, instead of glampmobiles catering to owners who are currently underwater on resale and who use them just a few days a year - towed by 1 ton trucks that largely commute schoolchildren to soccer games. Is this really a good model of American life? It certainly is available and many choose it, but what is their real intent, to enjoy the outdoors or be seen doing it?
@tirod3 using rivets and sheet aluminum is not the best design for an off-road trailer. Mammoth and Taxa are the only craft builders i can think of, and they both have issues. Airstream are iconic and are roomy inside and are cool to rent on air bnb or on TV shows but they are not off-road capable. You wax poetic about these Mammoths but doing a deep dive there are major flows. The sky lights you boast about are having leaking issues. The less holes in the roof the better. The duel axel timbrens are rated to 10,400 pounds and the trailer is 3,200 dry (not buying claimed 2,900 lbs) so likely 4,200 loaded. That is way over rated according to Timbren them selves. This will pound the sheet out of this trailer on washboard roads. They didn't even install cross members on the smaller model which created lots of aliment issues. This supposed aluminum light weight aircraft materials is mostly carbon steel that is not even powder coated. Rust city. Furnace is only rated to 5,000 vertical feet and has no ducting to wet bath. No gray tank so shower runs water drains to the ground, the interior standing room is a fraction of the interior foot print. It's tall and skinny with high ground clearance and top heavy. I could go on but will stop here
Looks pretty awesome. Seems like it's built to last. Buy once, cry once. It's a lot but who wants a cheap POS.
Naval submarine style doors with a flimsy plastic top hatch 😂😂😂😂
I can't afford this, but whether or not it's worth it will boil down to build quality and how long it lasts. If it really is build like an airplane or sailboat, it will last. You're never going to get value out of this in the first five years. It's a long play and you only live once. Check out the price of a house right now!
Another joke...😂😂😂
Why would you need a king size mattress (bed) in a camper van where space is at a premium! A queen size bed is the maximum you need. What a wank! The space could have been used for a host of other necessary things or even space to make the bed!
hahahahahhaaa!!! sooo dumb. what a gimick waste of money and time.
72K IT BETTER BE......
WAT ITS DIS ALOO ?? WC ON ROAD
At a Got money to waste !!!!! Doomday Price
Insane cost
Are you ever going to update your information!?
That price is crazy
That is great… just poor folks can’t afford it…
Be awesome if y’all would make this available in a style to roll my BMW Adventure Motorcycle right up into the back!
Lol. 80K? You better be camping weekly to get your money's worth. Thats still $1538 weekly for 52 weeks!! GTFOH
i won't be disappointed..until i saw the price tag.
I like and loved everything about it ,, until you reached the toilet 👍 Excellent build
who in the world buys this crap! Get your head examined $72,000 really!?!?
15k OBO
25 grand for bulletproofing😂
Have you guys ever considered a cabinet on the kitchen wall where the sink closes? You could install a sink that the faucet collapse into the sink giving more room for a cabinet for storage. I'm in Sequim and planning to check out your building soon....I just have to brave I-5
Overpriced by about $50,000!,!
Wow! You are all amazing! I live in Issaquah, which is 25 minutes away from Woodinville. I'll stop by to check out TallBoy, especially after purchasing a 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser.
I wish it had a larger fridge/ freezer. Also where is the ac or at least a connection? Also this trailer is designed for families so it appears so it would had been able to have a tv for the kids or wife.
$72K for something that costs $20-$25K max to build lol😂 Hilarious.
“Ultra light” Why two axles then??
We are the safeties due to the heater being that close to blankets or pillows. I think it would be better to find another location and AC would be lifesaver in some areas. I wouldn’t feel safe. We have two windows on the side of my head in the woods somewhere or somebody could drag you out and kill me there is not enough societies in that lies to prevent someone breaking it is a very good looking rig I have Kappa up with all the changes the last several years and I love the the height I am 6‘2” and that would make me feel like I’m not in a box.
Can we get this in South Africa
I love that I love the design. The new upgrades and everything. But the only thing I noticed was that split door what that means?Does it work with the stairs down? What of it's freezing outsiwe have to pick the stairs up and down every time you enter and leave the trailer
Jeez! Mammoth price tag. Inside looks like a prison cell and for the base price, a portable cheap toilet is the best they can do? Overland and over priced.
No mention of EMP protection or is it just me?
This is a great trailer...you guys thought of everything!
Where we camp in the Rocky Mountains this would be fantastic.
Comments do not disappoint
i dont think that ELE is bulletproof with the huge and unguarded propane tank sitting smack dab in front of the vehicle...does it come with protection?
ELE tallboy?
Cooler and burner need to be swapped around so one can cook in the rain or snowy weather. Aso a ring hitch. And a poptop would just top it off to be almost perfect.
Needs a ring hithch for real 4x4ing aswell as a pop up top. Then id concider one for sure. CHEERS
