I'm not sure what that means. Too much word salad with VVR. Successful- means passed? I'd think if that's so that the passengers could finally board the vessel- sleep on the vessel right? What still needs to be done for that to happen?

@@rebeccahowell6538 that's a good point. The video said "successfully completed ". I think that could actually mean they completed all the tasks of the sea trials but that doesn't necessarily mean they got actual feedback or a "grade" . They can't sleep onboard until they get the certifications.

Yes, we have. they are a great couple. I have seen a couple of videos from another couple. But I don’t know what their channel is called.

We don’t know the outcome of the sea trials yet.

They did sea trials but we don’t know how it went. We’ve been continuously traveling for the last four months and have had a great time visiting eight different countries. Obviously we signed up for a cruise and that’s what we rather be doing. But we’re not suffering here😂

@@livinglifeonacruise May I ask what happens if this company goes bankrupt? Is there a way for you guys to get some money refunded? I'm also curious how many cabins sold at this point? Also, I'm curious why you didn't just do multiple cruises on any established cruise line, say inside cabin (cheaper), and keep your brick and mortar home, like Super Mario does on Royal Caribbean? We cruise regularly out of Florida. I always like to get home after the cruise. I'm not sure I could live on a ship 24/7 for years! I think I'd go bonkers! It seems like a BIG commitment. I sincerely hope that the ship is sea worthy and passes all of the inspections soon. You guys and the rest of the buyers have been through A LOT, even though you have been having some fun in thew process. I completely understand how hard every person has worked to make this adventure a reality. It is admirable to say the least. But the workers must be at the point of mental and physical exhaustion! And once the ship is cleared for sea, then they all have to work even harder to keep all of the owners happy and comfortable. Anyway, if nothing else, it is an incredibly interesting story! Best of luck and I hope you are sailing very soon. I hope the company is being transparent with you all.

I saw it go back in Port as well. I guess that’ll be some time before they get final decisions from DNV. We are eagerly awaiting an update from them as well.

They were not able to finish due to the late start and the problems with the tugboat. They will be anchored offshore until tomorrow and the trials resume and should be done by the early afternoon. All the testing they did today was good.

@@livinglifeonacruise That's what I suspected. They are anchored there, which is part of the sea trial anyway (anchoring).

From what I had periodically seen from vessel tracking, the ship's speed was limited to about 6 knots. Perhaps I missed some data. Or, does anyone know if tomorrow's trials will put the ship up to speed or otherwise try any hard maneuvers or emergency responses (like emergency stops, hard port/starboard, etc)????

@@sai123aei There is an endurance test- measuring engine temperatures, fuel flow, , a crash stop, zigzags, 180 degree turns, a speed trial, anchoring, Certification officials are onboard.

They got a late start today due to a problem with a tugboat. So they’re anchored offshore and will continue tomorrow and should be done early afternoon tomorrow.

We’re not allowed to sleep in the cabins yet. Certifications need to be taken care of first

I’m not really sure. We’re going to Bremerhaven and Amsterdam then we will somehow try to slowly catch up with the itinerary and head to Bahamas.

The World is 23 years old and was built as a residential cruise ship with a variety of size cabins from studios- up to penthouse apartments.

We are traveling around waiting to get the word that it’s gonna leave Belfast. Then we will head over there real quick so we’re there on the inaugural sail off

All passengers on board got a letter telling them to leave the ship Tuesday evening to accommodate for sea trials Wednesday!

It’s totally unbelievable how fast it has grown. And yes, we have learned how much misinformation media can spread. Especially the people that didn’t even bother to reach out to us before they posted inaccurate prices.

The ship will most likely be half owners and half people doing segments.

For the life of the ship, which is assessed to be at least 15 years.

@@livinglifeonacruise That would mean the ship would be 46 years old which is a bit at the outer limits. Large cruise companies tend to dump their ships at 30 years which is what Fred. Olsen did. Ships tend to become money pits as they age so a company really has to want to, and be able to, keep spending heavy maintenance money to keep it going. Did you ever get any details of who did this assessment and what it was based on? The company doesn't seem to have carried out much in the way of research prior to purchasing the vessel which is why they didn't know all its certifications were lapsed and therefore why it had to be fully recertified and was treated as if it were new. And they didn't look at the maintenance records prior to purchase so it makes one wonder what this assessment of a 15 year life actually consisted of.
