We need to talk about rider etiquette. Trail group rides need to be handled where everyone makes it to the destination and everyone makes it back. If this is not the case then it isn't worth it.
Took a ride down the creek with the Maverick Sport

The soil at the bottom of the creek can be very sandy and has many deep holes. I have not wanted to take a risk, but the creek is very low. Not a single hitch. We will have to check it out after the monsoons start.

It's unfortunate, the white soil, white rocks, don't show the depth of the bumps. This is not a road anyone enjoys in a 4 wheel drive pickup. The road makes you feel like a bobble head doll while the cab swings wildly back and forth. We have to use this road when the creek is too high. It's so bad, I will not bring trailers up it. Pre shock therapy, no way at that speed.

In the last month or so I have been busy with entertaining guests and target shooting. Got a smoking deal on a new scope and a few new parts for an AR. On top of that this crossing has been up to 3 feet higher and slowly receded to this point only this weekend. That means the only way in is 6 miles on a back road. Long story short, it was locked up on our property.. glad to have it back and get...

    would be interesting to know the occupation dates, looks like a small extended family unit compound or maybe a defensive position for alerting a larger related village nearby, Water would be a concern but maybe in those times new river flowed more consistent & had springs, still hauling up jugs and blatters of water would be a task & likely many broken clay water vessels scattered on the accent paths.

      They are very low to the ground and I would not go with less than 250cc. That said think of the VW Bug with the motor over the rear axle. They are very capable for a two wheel drive. Top speed is only around 40. It might be a decent machine for hunting, but they do need a lot of tlc.

    Hey Brad, I recognized the first band as soon as I heard the vocals! Love their music. I am going to guess on your location as in the second video, maybe New River area? I cut my teeth on an XR350 between North Phoenix and up into the Bradshaws. Still own that 1984 XR350, but they say with age comes the cage, so purchased the Sport XRC this year. I like it, but still love dirt biking. Living in SE AZ for the last 20 years now. Anyway considering the Shock Therapy system for the Sport XRC, especially after our first roll over last weekend. It was in slow motion and more my mistake than anything, but I have to wonder if a different suspension would have saved us.Thanks for the video!

      Hey Mark! Brad drives that blue goose down in Tucson. Deranged off road did a similar upgrade and said it was transformational as well. Shock Therapy would be my recommendation because they did an excellent job removing the bucking and everything else. The big win for us is that they are here in AZ. If you start riding to the full potential of the new springs I would watch if Dave at deranged goes through his front end joints.I did have to replace some parts I may have installed incorrectly or wore them out. I have property out in Cornville on the creek, this was off the forest service road back there.

    • @MarkSpencerAZ
      @MarkSpencerAZ 4 года назад

      @@yellowsuzuki06 Oops, not sure where I got "Brad" from then. I have corresponded with him in the past however. I was thinking Cornville or Cottonwood. I was wondering about the joints, especially CV as the angles are already so extreme on these cars. Of course disconnecting your anti-sway makes it even worse. Seems the Shock Therapy system might allow these angles to become even more extreme.

      @@MarkSpencerAZ I ride it very hard and have not seen any issues there. Don't "kick the tires" too much on the idea. If you can do it, it is the best upgrade you can do on the Sport. The stock springs do the job if you drive slow and careful. Who does that? ;)

It took me a couple years to get surgery so it ended my riding. I spent time on thumpertalk and riding with that crowd.
