Stuart Braithwaite (Mogwai) - Richie Sacramento
Просмотров 3,2 тыс.3 года назад
After a long year with no gigs, Stuart gave this amazing rendition of one of the albums (Mogwai's As the Love Continues) that kept me relatively sane through the pandemic. And this all happened in an almost 2000 year old Roman Theatre in Terni, Umbria in Italy. Enjoy 🙏🏻

You used to say I had what it takes I think I did if you meant too little too late I can tell by the looks that I'm gettin' I made some big mistakes And I thought you said I was great Shoot straight and give it my best try I made my heart as hard as nails That may be the way you live your life But it's almost got me killed Darling I'm not giving in That happened miles ago I heard the north star...

Me and me brother fighting against the shadows
"Never drink when it's light outside."
I love this man
I was in a pub in the uk. Songs OHIA were gonna play. I went to the upstairs room before the show to see what was going on. No one up there. Some small guy comes out when I am there and I help him move a few tablees and benches. We don't talk much. Just two guys doing a job. Half an hour later the show starts. the small guy is playing and singing. A great show. To this day, i really wish I had told him how much his music meant. But it was just two guys doing a job. I think that sums it up.
okay... but only if you're into melody, emotional clarity, beauty, poetry and... nevermind.
I probably got many comments below....I just love Jason so much. He tells my life story. I was broken hearted to learn he was dead long before I discovered him.and I didn't choose this illness either..... Probably only alcoholics can understand that statement.... Not saying we're special but.... Who would choose to live in HELL !?!?!??!!!????
Jason Molina deserves every accolade given him posthumously. Fucking genius.
"It's your last chance to forget me now And it's DONE for good" I love how Jason sings that "Done" with so much feeling, you can even say it is in like a sense of irony, like laughing to something you should be crying about. To me it is the greates part of this record because it simply summarize Jason's dedication to his art which, in my opinion, puts him way above many artists nowadays. He feels it. He feels it so much while singing it and you can see it is delivered right from his heart. I just love him man. A true artist. He has something unique in his style of writing and singing and it always manages to touch your soul. This man was a gem. He deserves way more recognition than this.
You ain't lying
This song is about humanity, taking care of people nobody wants to see.. It is about me and my fight against my husband's alcoholism. Alone and desperate.. Nobody took care of us but we won the war alone.. Nobody should be left alone.. Neither you Jason.. I frequently think about you and about the fact you died alone with a phone with only your grandma numbers.. So they say. It can be true and it's so sad.. I still admire you and I'll admire you for the rest of my life. Sorry for my English.. I'm Italian
God bless you and your family. Hope your on to better days now.
..did you think that we were gonna last? Honey you know you don't have to answer that Half of that was my kind of joke but I don't remember which half
We will never forget you Jason!
Fucking never
perfect quality
This man is one after my own heart. I wish he'd made it out. God love him.
I didn’t choose to go down this road, no one chooses to be sick. A very sober explanation of alcoholism. This man was a treasure for a broken soul to find. RIP jm
unico!
I just discovered his music . It’s great. What happened to him? Why did he pass away
Alcohol
Alcoholism.
Way more than that Alcohol for sure but also pain sadness depression he wrote his life for us it took him like it may take us too
Inho he is the closest to alt country Joy Division
No one chooses to be sick
Beautiful man x
Thank you for this. I miss him and think of him always. He was a good friend and a amazing musician.
Being stuck within your own mind of genius and constant sorrow all at the same time. I hope you've found peace on the flip side!!!! R.I.P.
best song
Used to play this to Modern Warfare.
Write a sadder song. I dare you.
Kid you’re so lost even I can’t bring you home. What an incredible song
I grew up with another musician that plays his style (I'm Canadian). I am very happy to stumble upon this. You can feel the total emotion
Can I ask who? I’d love to listen.
@@ihatepoker1 Good ole Neil Y. Play down by the river. Same type of feeling
@@Comdev11 oh yeah man. Thank you. For sure, both poets!
Your brother was amazing..his music quieted my life..helped me through so much...i wish i had the chance to meet with him...he will be forevered remembered by those of us who understood his fight...it was so much ...he was a hero
I think this is the saddest song I’ve ever heard. RIP Jason.
Jason breaks my heart in the best ways.
I wish someone had some of this End of the Road footage. I watched it - but as of yet there is no technology that will put my brain on tape. Jason gets close.
great song , .this is a lot like Neil Y. with jason on lead
Gone. I feel like I lost something I never had.
I discovered Jason's music tonight. Listened to 50 videos. Fell in love with this huge sound, new music that sounded classic and it seemed impossible that I hadn't heard it. I went to his website and discovered he's gone. I felt like I lost what I never had. I'm a fan for life. RIP.
infraredruby2 that happened to me just now :(
I discovered him just a couple months after his death and I am literally in tears listening to him now. What a supernova
As I am going through a tough time myself, his words let me know I am not just all fucked by myself. This stuff happens, but I still believe that if I fight, it will get better. For those that lose the belief or the battle, I have a great sorrow.
+Justin Smith Hope you're still fighting a year later
+Julia cox I am. Life is great. I never got too low, but low enough that I definitely understood these lyrics in a way maybe not everybody does. But a year later, and another failed relationship later, I am great. My greatest hope for anybody in a dark place is to hang in there for the better time that will come.
I rarely comment on these things. Jason was my brother. He was pretty good at the music, but very good at being a brother and friend. This song tells his life story. It is about work and failure and death, but there is nothing sad about that. It is just most of our truths. Regards to all that watch this and much love.
I'll beg to differ a little with that "pretty good at the music". He put down a body of work that will still be played decades from now. Not a small accomplishment. Had he made it through, he probably could have toured just on the songs he already had for the rest of a long life. Sorry for your loss, though. By the way, thanks for signaling the meaning of this song.
your brother spoke to me like no other musician. I can't tell you how close to my heart I keep all of these songs. I'm sorry that you had to lost him, that we all had to lost him. but in his life he accomplished what should be the dream of every artist: to change the lives of his audience for the better. so he did more than most people do in their lifetimes. plus, I will always remember him, and I will pass this affection for music to my children, and I know others will do the same. so he will never be forgotten, he will never truly die, he will never be ''paralysed by the emptiness''

Sorry for your loss Aaron. I admit I did not discover his music until that March of 2013 that he passed, but nonetheless it has become extremely important to me. Thanks for commenting.
***** Greatly sorry for your loss, Aaron, and also for ours. Thank you for sharing that. Your brother's music means so much to so many of us. Peace.
I didn't choose to go down this road. No one chooses to be sick..... Fucking Prophetic!
Thanks so much for the lyrics!!!
I miss him :'(
Never heard of this band or song....now I can't stop. This song is absolutely amazing. I totally lose my self in it.
I wish I could hear his next song
The guitar playing is awkward, the drumming is heavy handed, the bass guitar is almost absent from the mix. It may be the most beautiful song I've ever heard.
This may be the best RUclips comment ever! I couldn't agree more
I love you brother for that comment. In my world, you won the interweb today 👍
You just described Crazy Horse. One of the all-time great American rock bands. Jason and friends style shares striking similarities.
@@VanirTraditionalist - almost all of the music I like most has its roots in "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere".
All of the comments I see on Molina's songs echo how I feel and what I would say. It's clear that those who connected with his music did so on a very intimate and meaningful level. I can't think of a songwriter who captured vulnerability the way Jason did.
"You always said I'd make it out, somehow darling I knew I never would". RIP Jason.
:(
wonderful!!!
Sorry for the loss of your brother. He touched me like no other musician an he is my favorite - there is a truth about this life, nobody else can tell like he can. Be proud!
Miss your music.
step by step through the black Thanks. RIP
May your soul find peace brother , your music has helped me for a long time and will continue to do so ...
Speechless... R.I.P J.Molina
It's your last chance to forget me now that it's done for good. RIP Jason.
