Where to start looking for gold in Warwick goldfields
I've given a few pointers on where to actually start hunting for gold in the Warwick goldfields. I have a long way to go yet with learning to use my equinox800 to get it working to its full potential in the goldfields but this video is mostly about getting people started on their hunt for gold. At least doing some panning in these areas will more than likely produce some gold for you. Enjoy👍✌

Metal detecting someones 100 year old hideout
Просмотров 9194 года назад
A mate of mine found some old timers candle holders and hand soldered cans in this cave up behind his house so we went to check it all out with my Equinox 800 just in case they hid any money or other treasures in there. Enjoy👍
Severn River fossicking with the boys
Просмотров 2,4 тыс.4 года назад
This time the river has a bit of flow going through it so we couldn't get to the deeper spots in the sections that we wanted to. We just had to have a go in the shallow parts where we could access without swimming. Enjoy👍✌
Stanthorpe Gems Massive haul of smokeys!!
Просмотров 6 тыс.4 года назад
Went for a fossick this morning in my secret location which I won't be revealing for a long time yet. Had an awesome haul of some pretty decent sized smokey quartz. Enjoy and please do subscribe. Cheers✌
Stanthorpe Gems specking along a dirt track

I found a nice big smokey crystal tip almost as soon as I got to this spot. A few other small ones too but nice points on them still. Enjoy✌
Stanthorpe Gems in the riverbed

I went for a quick dig before work this morning and once again had a nice little haul of facet quality gems... Enjoy👍
Stanthorpe Gems from the Severn River
Просмотров 5 тыс.4 года назад
Went for a dig on the bank of the river for only about an hr with some great results. 11 good facet quality gems and a few more that weren't quite facet quality but still nice stones anyway. I've barely scratched the surface on this location with plenty more to find in there yet
Where I find gems in Stanthorpe

I have spent all up hundreds of hrs fossicking in all different places around Stanthorpe. I will make another video later on showing a heap of my finds. Hope you enjoy this one👍

My wild pigs Stanthorpe
Просмотров 2765 лет назад
So i caught these pigs by chasing them out in the bush and tripping them up then grab them. 10 months later they've grown alot bigger and became alot harder to handle. Sometimes u just gotta show no fear and get amongst it. Hope u enjoy the video and please like and share it. Cheers🍻🐷

Wild parrots hand fed in my backyard

These rainbow lorikeets are totally wild so they have the beauty of being able to come and go as they please yet tame enough for me to even scratch their little heads at times... there is also some corellas and wood ducks in the yard.
Feral pig trap quick and easy to make
Просмотров 4566 лет назад
This trap is very basic and pretty quick to make. With materials ready it took me about 4hrs to bend and weld up. Before posting this video I had set the trap 4 times and twice i caught 2 small pigs and twice i had one larger pig around the 30kg mark. So it definately works👍 Please subscribe to my channel for more pigging videos Happy trapping✌

Best thing I've ever seen happen to a bottle of Pepsi, lol 😀
What a pretty puss
So beautiful and clear
fcking look at the young lad lol....this video went off brother! ❤
You could cut the roughness out.
Fascinating. There is so good colour in some of those Chrystals.
Hey mate which parts of Warwick was this at? I’ll walk 45mins just need know a spot to go. I’ve to talgai and duracki about 6-7 times so far and nothing but lead etc. where can I get my first piece??? I have gpx3500
I actually can’t comprehend how much you got in one spot 😂😍
Wouldn't it be easier to see if you use a classifier in the water?
Excellent mate I really like the big smoky crystal. Would like to get to Stanthorpe area later in the year. Just wondering if you could advise which direction from town is best for Smoky qtz. east or west? I've watched most of your videos last couple years really enjoyed. I've mainly prospected Glen innes area. All the best 👍
Fantastic haul mate. You would have to think that judging by the size of those crystals they might have eroded out of an old pegmatite dyke.. and possibly other gems within the vicinity. I've never prospected around Stanthorpe and not sure which direction from town... east or west would be better in general. Any tips appreciated. I'm in southern nsw but someone once told me to trek around a place called pozieres but I wouldn't have a clue to be honest.. Happy new year and thanks for sharing 👍
I had some land around here a few years ago.
Which area in Stanthorpe I’d really be keen to go find some
Thanks mate great video
Cheers mate 👍
Thank you for sharing your treasures with us. Looks like a good day mate.
Thanx mate... Pity I didn't get any of the elusive yellow with the Nox but it's certainly a 100% chance of finding it by doing some panning 👍
Good stuff Ollie. Maybe you can teach me how to use my mine lab some day. 😊
Thanx Mario 👍 I'm far from an ace on my machine but I have picked up and learnt a fair bit more since uploading this vid. There really is so much to learn to know your machine inside out
Hi SSV, how is it going out there, hope all is well.
Hi mate going well here. Just really haven't had much time to get out fossicking for far too long☹️
@@southseaviking6833 I know the feeling, I haven’t been out your way yet, though still hoping to get there soon. I joined a couple of groups to try to get out and both had their trips cancelled, one due to covid, one due to heavy rain at the private location. Managed a couple of 1/2 day trips with the misses to hinterland creeks but not a lot there as I only end up with an hour or so which isn’t enough time. Once the border are open I hope to slip out to a mates property west of Tenterfield to pick up a Ute body I bought out that way, 1948 International, something to keep me occupied in retirement. 😂😂😂 Once I know when I am heading out I’ll give you a shout.
@@silverback5033 nice one mate. Hopefully the border crap gets sorted soon. I been waiting to get down to a mates property not far east of Tenterfield with some old mines but the border thing is not making it easy. Find me on Facebook or messenger 'Olli Repo' and give us a shout out if U come up this way👍
Thanks for sharing, we will certainly get out there and have some fun detecting!!
No worries. Hope U do find something cause alot of people go through there but alot of people find Gold too 👍😃
Is this a bit south of where we did the vineyard mate? Herd it’s not to bad down that way
Not far off mate but this was just down off Fletcher Rd along the rail line
@@southseaviking6833 ahh yeah cheers cobba I been for a Trot out the other side up from days rode past the bridge
@@craigtownsend3149 yeah man.. I'll send U a pm on messenger tomoz👍

Um yeah mate I had the same thing but the wheel fell off mine😅
I’ve herd stories of an old bushie they call use to call hawkie who him and his father use to Rome them hills years ago use to camp out in the caves all around that area
Nice one man. I'll see what I can find out about old Hawkie. It was definitely a mad spot to hideout though👍
Amazing... Spent the sfternoon at swipers gully today, not sure if in right spot as found absolutely nothing of interest... Lots of recent diggings around everywhere we were looking though...😭😭😭 Going down to climb the pyramid at girraween tomorrow.
Yeah it has had some serious digging done out there but I have seen people recently finding smokeys and topaz out there. My best suggestion is to walk down the creek a bit from the waterhole and U need to dig pretty deep so down to bedrock if possible👍
Awesome crystals good haul
Thank you. It was one of my better finds for a morning fossick before work😅😅
Yep Stanthorpe is on my list , crystal adventures so much fun
Yeah alot of undiscovered gems still out there. As far as I know swipers gully is open again too👍
Glad I’m not the only one find lots of bullets. ;)
Yeah man there's always plenty of them if nothing else lol. At least if you're finding alot of lead it usually means there hasn't been too many detectors there👍
Hi do you have Facebook or Instagram. Would love to ask you a few questions regarding stones we have found.
Yeah sure i can possibly help with some questions. U can find me on FB 'Olli Repo' and thanx for watchin☺
Nice work boy’s 👍👍👍👍
Thanx mate. I think they really do get more enjoyment mucking around in the river than they would sittin on a screen at home so it was a good day out. Cheers for watchin✌
Dam that was awesome 👍👍👍👍
That was awesome hey
Cheers mate. It was a pretty cool hideout. Pity nobody left a stash of old coins or anything in there for us though 😅
@@southseaviking6833 yer that would have been great hey
I've got some old abandoned mines im goin to check out soon too when i have spare time. Ill be sure to upload something from them too👌
There are some around here to I’ve been to some of them hey 👍
@@terrynaylor1729 yeah nice one. Did u find anything in them? This one im going to is on private property so nobodys ever really been to it yet so fingers crossed theres some sort of goodies there👍
nice specimens
Thanx mate. That was one mornings haul but i now probably have about 50 times that amount
But it's all conservation land or private property.
Nah I don't have access to any private land out at Warwick unfortunately. Alot of gold still gets found in the gpa's out that way though👍
Hi Mate, Cleaning up Oz need to clean out the gold. Subbed you mate. Dennis
Yeah man I've got about 20 bucks of lead now🤣 I subbed u too. Cheers for watchin as well👍
I live on a property in stanthorpe and this video really helped me thanks.
Nice mate. Glad you were able to get some usefully info out of it. I'm mostly fossicking on private property down Glen aplin way but good pegmatite country👍
Mate, these are awesome! I've had a couple of good smokey quartz finds out the back of Kettle Swamp creek near the golf course and one or two at a mates place on Cannon Creek, but nothing quite like this! That's an unreal spot.
Cheers mate. I was onto a bloody good spot there for sure. I have access to 1000 acres of unfossicked ground so that certainly helps alot.👍
Just found your channel, Thanks for sharing areas, will drop into that bed on my trip up North soon... Cheers Ruby.. 🍻
Hey Ruby. Cheers for that. My vid was from private property but there is a few spots u can get to from public land. Enjoy👍
To you & Family , Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year
Hi Mate. Thanx for that😁 Hope u have a good Christmas with your family too👍🎄
If you here of any good spots up central Queensland way I’d love some insight 🙂 new to fossicking and no idea where to look around here
can you tell us what rivers that you fossick in and how far from Stanthope as we would like to come up that way
Hi mate. I'm fossicking mostly in the severn river but since all this rain it's quite full at the moment. U can still find gems in there but u will need to sieve through gravel from in the water👍
Great content. Joined you. Stay connected mate
Thanx mate... appreciate the feedback👍
Hi mate, Just wondering what is the cheapest metal detector I can use to find gold nuggets?
Hi bud. You could spend just a few hundred bucks to get one to find gold but it'd have to be on the surface. Otherwise at least 1200 bucks for one to get started. But pulse induction detectors (for gold only) start at about 2and a half grand
@@southseaviking6833 Which ones for a few hundred bucks can find gold nuggets?
Hey bud. Your 'minelab go find' can even find gold if it's a sunbaker. Very cheep detector but won't go very deep in mineralized ground where gold is usually found👍
Bit of a tight fit there Very cool cave 👍😎👍🍀
Hi mate... Yeah it was a pretty cool cave to see. I was surprised it went as far as it did. Thanx for watchin👍
What do you do with them all?
Hi mate. I have a big collection now lol but I'll occasionally sell some of them. It's very hard to let any go as each one is unique👍
If you do dont tell anyone
Not until I've found every bit... then I just won't tell u🤣🤣
Thanks for the sub mate. I already got ya :)
I thought I had already subbed to ya. Some great vids u got goin too👍
Totally agree mate, might head out your way over the school holidays and maybe have a look for some crystals or topaz, normally keep the detector with me just in case.
SSV, glad to see I'm not alone with removing lead & wire from the scrub. Went to Thanes Creek & forestry not far away with my son and his kids about 18mths ago. Thanes Creeek was so dry the turtles that had hidden under the mud in the creek banks had all died, we found several. The Forrest was just as dry, and after about 2 hrs we gave it away. We found several bullets and some wire and down one track it looked like someone was using as a dumping ground. Some people are grubs. Keep Safe & Keep Rockin
Yeah quite sad at how many animals suffered from the drought. And a pretty common thing detecting that does put alot of people off when u dont find what your really hoping to find. Regardless of what detector your using you still have to walk right over the top of gold to find it and coils ain't that big compared to the size of the gpa. Just gotta keep being persistent and time spent detecting increases your chances👍
I seen you speeding in your car I got your rego I have already sent this to police🤬
Lol... 100kph is the speed limit on country roads but thanx for watching👍
@@southseaviking6833 how many times did you have to drive past to get that thing looking like it was going fast haha
@@jody7838 just 2 times and can't help if dirt roads are a little slippery at times🤣... Hope you've subscribed too. Cheers👌
I will never subscribe to anyone that does videos with that metal detecting with pj wanker ..
@@jody7838 oh that bloke... what a legend sorry👍
👍
You need a gold detector mate. Good adventure but. Try the 5 inch coil if you have one
Yeah I do have the smaller coil and maybe one day I'll get a gpx or at least some sort of pi detector👍 cheers mate
@@southseaviking6833 yea i got a gold monster good machiness but only find shallow pickers , i use it going through tailings from my sluice mainly, see if i missed any
@@SouthernCrossGO yeah they go pretty well the gm. But as with most vlf detectors they will never match the depth u can get with a pi but you certainly can still find gold with em👍
@@southseaviking6833 one word nokta baby!!!
Imagine spending 10 grand just to find bullets hey 😅😅😅
Lol yeah u can probably even find them with a minelab go find🤣👍
Can't wait to get there mate...good video buddy💪
Cheers mate. Won't be long and we'll hit that😁
Well JP maybe a bit of gathering could be organised, A few tubers are doing group gold orgies LOL
