This is great! Can existing Faire retailers message us on the Faire platform before buying from us? This way we can customize if they wish. And would you recommend scheduled monthly drops of new designs so the retailers know when to check (ie, those who are not yet buyers) ?
@@kerrygearin3910 hello yes they can if they’ve got questions about your products! If you have custom options that’s Defs something to shout about, even adding into messaging from people who have already bought. We recommend doing monthly drops because the algorithm loves it - I’d say retailers probably don’t have the time to proactively check product ranges every single month, especially if they haven’t bought from you, BUT that’s why it’s a perfect thing to stick in a monthly newsletter to all your leads and retailers. Regular product drops is a great way to show future potential for retailers so it’s win win.

Display looks too cardboard, also need space between socks. Maybe look at the bricks and mortar sock shops and display them up right ie on hooks. Socks also tend to be last minute or top up gifts, so this week might of been better...
We were limited on what we could do with the space as John Lewis provided all the stand space, and we had two weeks notice for this spot so it was a last minute thing! But we think good experience but we are going to focus on wholesale and distributed channels which are much more profitable! 😅
Purchased products from creoate only to have counterfeit products delivered. Creoate were only interested in issuing me a voucher upon return of counterfeit goods. I of course am in no way shape or form looking to purchse more counterfeit goods from creoate so ghey have basically STOLEN my money... After the fact I also found the exact same products from other sellers on other platforms at an astonishing 20X cheaper price..AVOID

I want to open a brand account on faire can you suggest me key points to be focused while applying to make my application pass successfully.
Have a decent product, and a presence whether that is website or shop front. It's a very simple form to fill out so there isn't much you can do to get approved - I recommend applying through our referral links as we know brands have got approved quicker that way, and then keep applying every couple of months, there is a big waitlist.

Super useful as we are re-designing our website ready for the new year. I just removed lots of apps I felt weren’t working so I will trial some of these!
Always great to do a purge on apps! Too many can slow down your website/be unnecessary cost, but if you are getting good return on investment from them then they can be worth their weight in gold! Let us know if you end up using any!

Hi Lucy thanks for this! Two questions if I may... 1) When Faire reimburse your shipping cost with 'ship on your own' do you have to provide Faire with the exact amount you paid the courier / upload a receipt or is Faire happy to reimburse you whatever a flat amount you state? 2) Any progress on the tracking information from Shopify going back into Faire, that sounds like a super simple one their developers could solve. Thanks again for the videos, we just launched on Faire earlier in the week so finding our feet.
@@BethanJohn good luck with the launch on faire! How has it been going so far? Faire take our word for it / I’m sure if you were adding in extortionate postage costs they’d question it, we’ve never had to upload proof other than the tracking number. Quite possibly the algorithm has estimates based on weight of order and courier and would flag any shipping costs that don’t align with that. But that’s my assumption. No news on the tracking info, would love for it to happen. I feel certain aspects of development have slowed a bit, for example we wanted separate user log ins for all team members and that took quite a long time to deploy! But they do get there. Let me know if you have any other questions :)

No worries! Yeah we’ve found that weekly is a good cadence for newsletters. For onboarding flows you can afford to go a bit closer together but yes eventually you’re going to annoy people if you go super regular! The other mistake is going the other way and emailing a few times and then giving up!

I sell candles and skincare. 0 minimum orders helped in the beginning. What i hate getting orders of 1 candle because they have insider free shipping. Another good strategy i found prevent these set the product moqs 4 or 5 without changing the overall moqs in the store
Yes we always recommend keeping an eye on orders, if you're getting loads of tiny orders then the 0 MOQ is detrimental, but if you get 1 now and then, the wider benefit of having a 0 MOQ is great for the algorithm. We also switch off 0 MOQ nearer xmas as we know people are using the platform for their xmas shopping!

We have kind of already done our sales for Christmas across wholesale as it goes a lot sooner for retailers, we did a big sale over summer during the faire market, we also did bigger discounts on any retailers who pre-ordered our christmas range ahead of time, but we are now in normal mode, we might do a bit of a sell off at the end of the year but because sales are so strong at the moment we don't do any wholesale promotions above and beyond our normal tiers (10% off £1,000+ kind of vibe). By the way our content will slow down now, unfortunately we have had a bereavement in the family so I have been off work and Andy has been focussing on Bare Kind now we are in peak, but once I am back to it I can do a full de-brief on how xmas is going! do stay in touch, I am online just not filming anything right now, good luck with peak!!

They are few and far in between now, you don't automatically get one once signed up and they only seem to be available for brands doing big sales, they don't have a process for applying for one it seems they cherry pick brands now, as it's such a saturated marketplace

Do you have a shop front? Think they usually want to have proof of business via website or photo of store front, unless they have updated their policies. It's a 3 min job to apply so best way to find out is to just apply!

How do you connect Faire Products to Shopify. It says you have to buy the product for it to be linked to my shopify. Do i really have to buy products to do that?
Hi - do you have your own Faire account that you are selling products on and want to connect it to shopify? If so, this is a free via a Faire app on shopify. If you are looking to buy products on Faire to sell on your shopify, drop shipping is prohibited and you have to buy the products on Faire and ship yourself. It depends if you are brand or retailer so let me know!

Hey! That’s a great question, and not something I’m 100% on, however I know when you input bank details it’s just account number and sort code so I’m not actually sure if they’d be able to tell what type of account it is - so my advice would be just give it a go! They have to accept your bank details onto the account so you’d find out pretty quick if not!

Hey - have you applied through our referral link? I don't have access to view your account status but I know that Faire say apply every couple of months, they are very busy with applications at the moment! And applying through a referral link tends to help. :)

Hey, they do but they are few and far in between now because the marketplace is so huge, so you don't get assigned one on signing up unless you are a huge brand or bringing in loads of sales, we got assigned one when we first signed up because we we early to platform in UK but because we are so big on the platform in Europe we've kept our brand rep!

Hey - they're few and far in between now! You would have been assigned one if you were a big enough brand when you joined, or if you are now having a lot of success on the platform, most brands don't have them now. If you think you're hitting a lot of sales then reach out to Faire's support team to ask how you get referred, but it's only a small % who actually get access to them now I am afraid

I did 2 trade shows, one I made 2 sales and broke even, then the other made no sales. I had so much interest too and people loved my product, but a lot of deals did not close, and buyers ignored me after the trade show - even after they said they wanted to buy and loved my product. Furthermore, I even had in-person business meetings where buyers said they were buying, then ghosted me after the meeting. One buyer I talked to over a couple days in person, at a total of 10 hours. He did purchase $200 of product to do a test run, then ghosted me. I have a friend who said he gets no sales at trade shows, but he thinks he needs very targeted ones for his niche. (Although, he makes tons of sales on ecommerce.) At the last expo I attended, I talked to an exhibitor who said he made 0 sales after paying $10k for his booth and his product was great. He is also in retailers, but could not make sales at the trade show. I also even did sampling meetings as a follow-up from the expo where people tried my product at their locations, and loved it, even said they would buy, and those deals still did not close. Maybe it is my follow-up system, but it just seems like they all ghost even after they say they want to BUY. Also, the trade show where I made no sales was in California, along with the people I talked to who made no sales were also at trade shows in California. The one where I made a couple sales was in Las Vegas. When I told the sales lady from the expo I got into 2 stores she was shocked and said that was really good so that makes me think most people make no sales. Also, the salespeople at expos are SO annoying. It is very distracting for me when I'm trying to make sales and salespeople waste my time. One of the expos I went to, literally half the people there were just trying to sell me something. I did not spend thousands to get sold to. These are also food expos, so I do not know if people at product expos are different. I am also thinking it is harder to sell to retailers in California.

Such a shame that these trade shows haven't been great, it sounds like it's very tough out there. We did Spring Fair and Harrogate in the UK this year - Spring Fair was incredible so we are doing it again in Feb25, but Harrogate footfall was a lot less (they put it on during School holidays so lots of independents missed out). I wonder if this is a downward trend of trade shows or if they will ever pick back up. Are you planning on going to any next year or were they just not fruitful enough for you this time round?
