    I wonder if there is a need to focus particularly on the underside of the rim outside to make it waterproof and prevent rotting. Personally I would have taken mor of the old varnish off.

    Hi I like ur vids but this one is a bit of a downer for me plz dnt use rusted items to drill in the trees plz use very clean items as there’s a lot less chance of cause a tree infection etc and remember u can just use a bottle with the end of the brand snapped off to collect the sap to u dnt need to drill every tree plug with wax after is very important to stop and after infections to. So the branch piece u put in to fill the whole should be flush or just inside the trunk then add a bees 🐝 wax cover over the top this prevent all those of infections to the tree

    • @thebushcraftskillschannel3742
      @thebushcraftskillschannel3742 3 года назад

      We did put wax over the hole at the end but we just forgot to film it. Also the drill bit was clean thanks for your advice

    • @paulsoutdooradventures1790
      @paulsoutdooradventures1790 3 года назад

      @@thebushcraftskillschannel3742 ok but that drill bit did not look clean in any way should be shiny silver tbh. As also u may have cleaned it when drilling it in bits of the old rust etc will get caught and come off in the tree causing infections good to hear u waxed it but did u trim the branch back u used as a plug back so it was flush to before waxing
