    Can I ask why you didn't make 2 cutting nuts? It would be balanced, and cut faster, no?

    • @builds_from_scratch3491
      @builds_from_scratch3491 2 года назад

      Hey there don't worry just ask :) The second screw with the 2 nuts on weighs the same as the screw with the cutter. The second screw is there as counterweight. It would probably cut faster if i added a second cutter instead but getting both equaly spaced from the center is really time consuming and tedious. But if you plan to make one on your own you can give it a try with 2 cutters instead of 1.

    Interesting project, did the welding on that big nut cause any problems when you screwed the big bolt through it? Did you need to modify the shape of the hooks to make it hold onto the pulley better?

    • @builds_from_scratch3491
      @builds_from_scratch3491 2 года назад

      Hey there, the welding didn't cause any problems with the threads ( no warping ) but to be extra sure weld it in steps like 1 arm holder at a time and than let it cool for a bit before welding on the next. There was no need to modify the shape of the hooks to make them fit/hold onto the pulley. Before the assembly i checked with a beveled square if the contact sides are more or less even ( the don t have to be 100% flat to work +/- 0,2mm). I hope this helps you out :)
