Before you make your first stitch, you have to cast on. Here’s how to do the most common cast on, lefty style!
Thank you! This is the video I was looking for. There are so many videos out there that claim to be for left handers but are really right handed people holding the yarn in their left hand.
i wish you had more videos! you’re the only one who makes sense to my lefty brain on how to knit left handed.
Hi I have watch d a number of videos and I find yours the easiest to follow Thank You Would you please explain to me why some videos show putting yarn in the left hand to purl stitch, but have you hold yarn in the right hand for knitting like you do which is so much easier to do?
bless you truly. im trying to make a hat for my daughter as my first knitting project and ive watched so many videos for leftiies and they are going so fast that even with the playback slpwed down to .25 it was not helping. this is the first video i. could see clearly and see what im doing now. so i feel a lot better now i can stop crying.
Thank you so much
i just joined ravelry and i need alot of instructions would you be able to help me at your convenience. thankyou anna
Thank you so much for your wonderful instructions. Much appreciated Loretta ❤
Wonderful tuition it took me a while 😊with my arthritic thumb. But success. Thank you.
Hi, thank you so much for lefty knitting. Do you have a ribbing video?
Finally -- someone who knits like I do!!
How to make another row after the first one?
Yes, this video is helpful for sure. Thank you. I am a new subscriber now. : )
Trueley the best pearl continental left handed video out there. Thank you!
I need more videos from you. You speak my language!! Thanks!!
So glad you found them helpful! Maybe one day I’ll make some more - if I remember how!
What I’m finding hard to do is hold the yarn in my right hand. I need to find a way to hold it in my left hand. This video is a little confusing to me.
Thank you so much for this video. I was having a hard time trying to figure out which way to hold the yarn.
i give up lmao this is waaaay too hard. do y'all have like 20 fingers on each hand???
Finally found lefty help. Thank you. I just started knitting 5 months ago and am self taught. It is so difficult to find left hand help. My grandma taught me how to crochet when I was a little girl and I would sit across her to learn to crochet. Cheers from SoCal
Thank you😂
Thank you for your videos, I've just started knitting as a lefty and they are extremely helpful
Clear --- and yet so inappropriate! Karma has a way of getting you back!
This is the best leftie beginner video I have found on RUclips! Thank you! I need some advice though…when the time comes to “wrap the yarn around”, I can never remember from which direction to wrap it and tend to get it backwards. Any tips on an easy way to remember which way to wrap the yarn? Thanks in advance!😊😊😊😊
Thankyou nice clear instructions
I am a LEFTY, and I just started learning to knit (via RUclips) 3 months ago. It is SO nice having left-handed demonstrations!! Can you do some “next step” videos, like how to work in a “CC” or contrast color, and videos on how to fix mistakes? Thanks, Ellen - your videos are helpful!!
THANK YOU!!! The most clear explanation ever!!
Great video ! I'm a lefty and this has to be the best instruction for left handed perl stitches.
Great video ! I'm a lefty and this has to be the best instruction for left handed perl stitches.
I think I need to switch to knitting left handed. Im pretty good with knit stitches right handed using the English style, but I cannot purl at all 😅 I’ve been crocheting left handed for about a year, so I’m used to working yarn with a tool in my left hand
You sincerely have the best video on how to purl stitch. Thank you
I tried knitting about 10 years ago and got so discouraged, but I picked up crochet a few years later and absolutely love it. I'm going to give knitting another go now, I think. Thanks so much for videos for lefties!!
This is so helpful! I'm a righty and have been knitting for almost 70 years (not continental style either!)and have just started to teach a little 7 year old lefty using your methods. She is doing so well and is so proud of herself.
This is by far the best tutorial for this I've found all week for casting on as a lefty!!
This is a cute channel! Love it!
I'm a leftie, but I'm finding this very confusing
Love this video your voice is so calming. I want to stop throwing, so now I have basic left handed knitting down pat, I am going to focus on continental.
This is so well explained!
bad explanations, explain what you’re doing rather than just expecting people to understand
They said exactly what they did as they did it, what are you referencing specifically?
Thank you! <3
I'm really confused. I've been doing very basic knitting right handed style while moving the left needle (as a child I was taught by a friend's left handed mum but school decided I had to learn right handed) however I'm now trying to learn left handed so I can teach my left handed child to knit left handed properly. Your videos have been absolutely fantastic! I'm just struggling with this one, if you're able to help I'd appreciate it. Thank you
I was purling all wrong! Thank you so much!!
I concur with all the rest! I am a seasoned crocheter and have been knitting fir several years. Still feel like an amateur. Left handed and have learned from right handlers. Love your videos and directions/demonstrations are awesome!!
I’m so glad you’ve found them helpful!
Thank you for this video! I fought with this for hours yesterday watching another video and got so frustrated. I’m a crocheter and I’ve wanted to learn knitting for a while. I’m going to keep trying. My loops just slip right off my needles so your method of holding the loops will hopefully help me stop that. Thank you again! Great explanations and visuals!
I’m so glad you found it helpful! Stick with it - I promise you’ll get the hang of it. Don’t put any pressure on yourself. You’ll be amazed what you can do!
This is super helpful!
Glad to find you. I'm a lefty that has wanted to continental knit! I usually throw or flick.
This is the best left handed video I have found. Thanks and keep them coming!
Thank you so much! I’m glad you found it helpful.
I think by 'wrapping' the need around the yarn, vs doing it on the needle the continental way, you 'spin' on the stitch , does confuse ppl. Most just learned how to cast on and garter stitch.
It's nice to find a video from a left handed person... I've managed to learn basics from mirrored videos, but they are often just mirrored and sometimes terminology from the right handed videos apply... gets so confusing 😆
Actual knit stitch starts at 4:58
Oh please keep the tutorials coming! I’m a somewhat experienced crocheter but recently really been wanting to learn to knit. I’m a lefty and of all that I’ve watched, your videos are the only ones I can grasp! Thank you for taking time to make them! 💜
I’m so glad you find them helpful!! Tell me, is there anything specifically you need help with?
Yes, I can definitely follow your instructions. I appreciate how articulate you are. Thanks, from a fellow lefty!
I’m so glad! Good luck!
