It is the Chapel and it is not the University, it’s a private school. !
You are allowed to walk through Cheltenham College.
5:54 The edifice with leaves growing over is Trinity College, and to the left is Balliol (I think) 6:35 This is a monument to notable 16th century protestants who died under Mary I, most famous of them being Thomas Cramner. A cross is carved into the ground nearby, which purportedly marks the spot where Cramner was burned at the stake 7:08 Take a look at some of the post boxes in and around the Covered Market next time you are in Oxford - some of them are labelled V.R. (meaning they have been there since the days of Queen Victoria)
Heya guys! I live in Cheltenham and your video randomly popped up - and I really enjoyed watching you guys explore and find stuff out. The tall building you were looking at was Eagle Tower - and people sometimes abseil off the top of it. (Might try and see if we can do that with the Scouts/Explorers if we can get the risk assessments in place!) And the Church you were looking at is St Gregory The Great. Honestly one of the best 5 mins I've spent on RUclips - and I live here! Hope you guys have a fantastic and fun time doing your videos - but safe out there! 😀
Hi, thanks for watching, it’s really cool to see my videos popping up randomly now, it definitely I sign of growth!! I don’t know when Dylan will be back on the channel (if ever). I appreciate your comments!!!
Not sure we saw much posh Cheltenham stuff 'don't you know', except the college. There's loads of posh Cheltenham you didn't visit. It looked as though your wander could have been through Milton Keynes for all we knew which is, as we're aware, extremely un-posh. Not to worry, an intriguing travel vlog nevertheless ~ _Thank you._ 🙂
Thanks for watching, I do try to get around as much as possible but when ever Dylan comes along he always expects to spent most of the day doing his thing which is never helping. I appreciate your comment!!!!
@@urban-UK You must cultivate Dylan on your travels to contribute more comprehensively. 'Travel companions' can add to places visited as 'Mr Bald' knows well on his travel blogs. Have you seen 'Mr Bald'?
@@JoseighBlogs I’ve never heard of that actually…
Nice video. I appreciate your enthusiasm !
Thanks for watching!
the "tall" building is called eagle-tower, also the footbridge is part of the foot trail you walked on at the start and is called the honeybourne line it also connects with the memorial gardens you went through, i'm not sure if thats how you got into the gardens as it looks like you entered through the arch on market st. it's a shame you didn't get much time to spend in the town but you captured most of it's features.
Yeah, we have to move quickly on our trips unfortunately. Thanks for the info though!!!
Hello guys, that was a very entertaining and informative video. Excellent filming and presentation skills. Really enjoyed it 😊
Glad you enjoyed it! I’ll try to get Dylan back on the channel more often!! Everyone is enjoying him!
Hello Arthur and Dylan, great video as always from the looks of things Cheltenham looks like a millionaires playground!👍👍👍
Yeah it certainly is thanks for watching!!
A comment, something about Cheltenham. :o)
Haha, thanks for watching.
Great to see Cheltenham still looking so clean and grand, I've not visited for a long time. The comedian/travel writer Dom Joly described it as the best place to live in England (he lives there though, so could be biased). I don't remember the impressive footbridge you crossed, maybe it's reasonably new? I look forward to the future video when you grill Dylan to get the background to his intimate knowledge of casinos!!
Hello, my dad told me that the footbridge is very new and they were building it while he was working in the area. Thanks for the info and thanks for watching!!!
Brilliant vlog! Nice to see Cheltenham! I am from the states so the difference between a college and university is a bit different here. Thanks for sharing! Look like you had fun!
Thanks for watching! In the uk, college and university are very different.
Fun vlog and footage 👌👍
Thank you 🙌
It looks so posh there wth
It is very posh!!
Good for you young lads. There is a great deal more to learn out in our countryside.😀
I will absolutely be exploring into the countryside soon!
Pity it was a whistle stop tour as Cheltenham looks like it could have some decent Georgian architecture. The tall building reminds me of Centerpoint, Londons first modern skyscraper built in the West end in the mid sixties. By the way, is Dylan a secret gambler.
Yeah, Cheltenham was lovely. Haha I guess Dylan is a gambler! I’m assuming you’re the guy who donated so thanks!
@@urban-UKcheers.
Great work keep going!
Thanks, will do!
Wow, it does look posh! It looks like you had a good day. I think that first church you came across is called St Gregory's and it's Roman Catholic. It was cool being shown around the Minster. I like looking at stained glass windows too. I'll let someone else look up the other buildings. I know someone who went to Cheltenham College. When I was a boy my mother used to warn me not to pull faces because if the wind changed I'd be stuck with that expression forever! Lol.
Haha, thanks!
@@urban-UK You're both doing a great job! 👍
Great video guys
Thanks so much!
@@urban-UKYou're welcome
Hi Arthur and Dylan enjoyed your trips it’s very posh town look beautiful and good weather good views it’s interesting more old church buildings and historic buildings I love it there cheers
Yeah it is a very posh town!
@@urban-UK look very nice place town views cheers mate
By the facial expression, Dylan looks very uncomfortable for some reason at the end.
Ye I noticed that, it might just be awkward for him to record in public in front of camera even if he is doing it with someone else
Yeah, he has been talking about the fact that he keeps doing silly faces on purpose so I think he was doing that!
That could be true!
That's probably a stress reaction. More talking will ease it.
I think he’s just making a silly face.

I highly recommend exploring Berlin using the S-Bahn and U-Bahn if you have not already done so.
Hello, I’m gonna try my best to go abroad soon but it’s very expensive!! I will have to make some more money in donations and stuff!!! Thanks for watching
Hi mate, i reckon that's the best one of your videos
Thanks! I really appreciate comments like this!
just brilliant mate, go to leeds and sheffield!! it would be amazing!
Thanks, I’ve been to Sheffield on the channel. I want to go to Leeds but trips like that can get very expensive.
I've just subscribed as a way of keeping in touch with my home country. I like the collabs with Dylan, but maybe you could involve him a bit more? Don't let him appear as some kind of (NOT "kinda") hanger-on, his comments are always interesting.
Hi, thanks for watching, I have no idea when Dylan will be back. It’s quite difficult to film all of our interactions because we quite often have conversations in between shots. Kinda is a shortened version of “kind of” and if you don’t like it have nothing else to say to you.
@@urban-UK Sorry, no offence intended!
@@1258-Eckhart Ah that’s ok, thanks for subscribing anyway!!
The "rusty steel" (which is what it is) is sheet piling, driven in by a tower piledriver to stabilise the riverbank. It goes between 3 - 6 metres into the ground. The bottom 3 - 4 m are foundation, the top 1 - 2 m are retaining wall, stopping the riverbank from slumping into the Severn and thus being gradually washed away. The big rocks in front of the sheet piles disperse the water's energy, further reducing its tendency to wash the bank away.
Thanks for the info.
The bridge is spectacular, and the river looks huge! Another very interesting video. I hope you managed to keep your trainers nice and clean! Maybe it would be worth investing in some boots for you explorations, especially with the long winter ahead of us??
Thats a good idea. I’ll have to make some more money! The bridge is very nice. If you haven’t already, I recommend a drive over it!
Another great video, Arthur…well done. Have you watched Ludwig on BBC…set in Cambridge. How about a Ludwig locations video ? Not sure if Cambridge is near you….but maybe worth thinking about. 👍
Thanks for watching. I hope you enjoyed it!
Nice! That area is quite industrial but I was quite surprised about how nice everywhere around severn beach actually looked!
It really is! Thanks for watching!
