A Gunner from OPFOR unloads his feeling to the diary tank in Canada.
This film is very realistic but there is a one critical mistake in it. There is no way anyone would make a check of electrical detonator while having squad still planting charges.
Did a skiing course in GermanAlps and shared the accommodation with a bunch of posties RE most of which were “female”. My God but they were rough, drunk like navvies and fought like tigers, great times.
Ah,the well clad offficer in Barbour !
none of these "trades" helped anyone afterwards
@Lets Tab 59, this would something you would know about.
Per Zufall auf dieses Video gestoßen. Lang ist her.
These videos are entertaining, but very educational..
better then net flix...love these old vids
my grampa was an AB engineer in ww2
Fantastic ! Cant remember so much greenery. We were always scraping tons of Soltau mud off the bridge.
Nicely done chaps!
Those were the best times of my life.
tell me a story, gus. please!
Thank you for your service Gus.
My lovely Grandad was a sapper! And a boy soldier!
SNEED.
Thanks for this, I'm surprised they didn't attack at the weekend when we were all pissed
Hurrah for the CRE
Hurrah for the CRE
Good film, thanks for uploading. This job would be done by McDemolitions now, the government having flogged off the Army and contracted out most jobs to private companies. How many tanks do we have now, is it 3 or 4? Scary shit with yon eejit in power in the Kremlin.....DA.
What a load of crap from a load of long haired baskets,....it was never like that back in the mid 60s!
No bridges were hurt in the making of this film, 21 engr regt, Nienburg, ‘86-‘91.
Sterling...God I remember my dad had one in his pictures from Desert Storm. EDIT - My god were they .303 MG'S on the AVRE Cupola?
4:58 No, Browning .30". This was a period of flux for British AFV mgs. The Centurion, Saracen, Saladin, Ferret etc were all from the Browning era. The Centurion was L7 7.62mm GPMG era but early versions also had a Browning .50" ranging mg as well as coaxial and cupola GPMGs. Meanwile the cupola weapon for FV 433 Abbott was still the L4 LMG (the Bren re-chambered for 7.62mm). Supply chain nightmare I would imagine!
Camcream and yellow flotation vest - excellent combination.
That ssgt was 1tp staff (top bloke)
I was stationed in Willich. Brought back some memories :-) Thank you
can you tell us a story please?
At 2m03sec: The Soldier the top of the bank, talking to his Oppo with the cables. It sounds like he say “What’s the score with this C**t?”, which WOULD be very apt for Real Life Soldiers but not so good on an SSVC type Training Video! Still made me chuckle 😂🤣 (By the way, I do know, I was one!)

Very interesting video thank you. Do they make similar training videos these days?
Not really. Last one I took part in was 2011. Could be wrong but I don’t think they bother any more which is obviously a bad move
I see screech has been replaced and is as effective. If not more?
The Proffesionals?
Absolutely brilliant, wish they made more like this
Boss
How come they did not show them naked at the bar ? Thats a real Sapper
Happy days apart from camming up AVLB's
Getting it off again was worse.

I wonder how they got all the german locals to act as refugees.
Probably told them Ivan was back.
I was in this movie..... Sapper
Today NATO is a farce. The European Leaders of today who were elected by Europeans who had grown up with Socialist doctrines in their education system have invited immigrants from the Middle East to destroy their very European societies. The Russians and Eastern Europeans knew this. Western Liberal Europeans and American Communist Democrats let this happen to keep themselves in power. To career politicians on both sides of the Atlantic or Pacific. All lives are expendable either which sides you support. The Globalist side never cared because they want power in major of minor. People will never wake up and never care until it hits them. Until then. It was up to you. Your excuses will never be excusable.
tiger stripe camo?

Scary times
My God, what a trip down "Memory Lane" I remember seeing this in 1986.
fascinating yet disturbing
I still miss it
I don't. But then I tend to remember why my knees ache, why my back is going, why my toes hurt in cold weather and how and why I got the scar over my eye.

That time the engineers stopped the whole Russian Army in 7 minutes. I love the engineer commander and his pipe.........Indeed.

+stevey c Much to my kids amusement, I can be seen doing the ADR Heli Recce towards the end of the film. RAF Wildenrath was used for those sequences. Many happy hours spent on exercise there!

Doreen's Ever Ready Rifles
God I haven`t seen this film in 30 years,I was in BAOR in 29 fd sqn, 35 Engr Regt from `85 to `88 and I remember spending countless hours on top of bowstring bridges prepping them for demolition, hard fucking work and I was always terrified I`d fall off, I wasn't worried about falling into the water but some of the bridges we trained on were bloody enormous and if you fell onto the road from the top that was you dead or seriously injured.
Also served in 29 for sqn mate. Small world!! Names not changed Chuck Berry. (MT)! 87-89.
@@chuckberry5355 God bless you & ajb.
Damned good show. Always wondered how this would happen when I was in Germany ('81 - '83).
