Calling all new age incorrect is like saying all (pick your poison) people are all bad. The new age has a very distinct group that doesn’t join the “new age scene” and “Burning Man” absolutely is a “scene” ! It doesn’t represent in any accurate way, a new age philosophy and belief of Jesus teachings. We also are open to the symmetry and sacred geometry happening among all people. Doesn’t matter their religion. We are particle and wave living on a dense planet How are Christians able to throw out the Nag Hammadi library and all its texts ? How about the the book of Enoch? How about Christian Mysticism? Which actually was a thing. And what about the fact that Jesus and Paul had different Beliefs. Jesus was not down with Paul. Paul’s version is the majority of what non critical thinking mass unconscious Christianity looks like. It holds the majority because it allows for the “Christians” to be evil and ignorant simultaneously. I would like to see a new age “Christian” talk about faith… the beautiful journey to finding this new love (not representing the past experiences as incorrect) . instead of beating down what is actually closer to God (living as a sentient being in constant communication and inspired action through the Christ consciousness for the purpose to serve and love others….to experience a joyful and adventurous life in communion with the saints. …(with its highest life) … than this crap judgement, and mass slander of a new way of being able to love oneself…which is required to be alive with vitality, not to mention the ability to truly love others. So instead of dissing on a “scene”, remember the Christians have a “scene” as well. Morality under God cannot exist. There is no higher place than being at home with God. So death and tragedy all are not as terrible, as we fearful Christian’s think. It’s actually what is real. its place in the fine and intricate tapestry of how all is entwined. Your example of divine timing brought you to Stanford is all a part of the plan. Not bad Not good. It’s called living ad learning. Everything brings us to God. But if you find the only way, once again you follow Paul, and that is the Jesus everyone threw away in the last cycle..Wellness is dominant. That’s how we stay alive by default. So the labeling of religion is not in coherence with the ineffable Love of God

Exactly what you said is why I do not won't to go to counseling. Men are instantly considered in the wrong and women are enable and believed regardless of truth. Everything you have described is my wife. I've known this bc I also realized she is narcissistic. It's amazing how they will twist scripture trying to convince you that mutual submission means the wife gets to usurp her husband's authority. In 1973 I was 15 and we had to study Darwinism in World History class. The male teacher was very good looking, but very angry and hated God. I was not a great student ( I later found out that the "education" I was getting was boring me and there were no real challenges to thinking). When we got to Darwinism I decided to do as much research as I could (before the internet). I was particularly interested in why there were so many hoaxes in that worldview. The day came when we had our 6 week test. The first question was stated (no kidding) "why do we tend to believe Darwinsim over creationism?" Being the absolute truth teller that I was, I answered "WE don't." I then proceeded to pour out everything I had been studying. I got an F on the entire test. If my mother or I had known that we could challenge what he had done (my reasoning and facts were sound), we would have done so. This is what started me on a path towards absolute Truth and apologetics studies. So glad to hear of someone who was like that from a younger age as well.

I was born and raised and still live in California I can tell you from my personal experience that all the weirdos liberal or conservative came here from all over the world to here and they still are the problem. I reject the idea that Burning Man is a Pagan gathering. Or that that scene is evil or satanic. I have friends in the rave scene that dedicate their lives to living as Jesus did. One learned Hebrew to better understand the Bible and one is working on learning classic Greek to study the Septuagint. The only reason there aren’t more Christians there is because of pieces like this that demonize these sort of cultures. Burning Man and the Rave scene lend themselves to whatever faith you practice. It has always been stated that the burning man at Burning Man is for what ever it means to YOU. And as far as psychedelics, I don’t think it’s a sin to take psychedelics. It’s about context. If you took acid and ecstasy to party and sin, that’s on you. Other people consider them a sacrament. You can pray to God, or you can pray to a false idol. Does that mean prayer is a sin?

Back when I was 20 in 2010, I knew a Christian couple my age who got married - both were worship leaders. Nice people but they definitely fit all the cliches about modern worship-leader types - very slick, hipster-chic, attractive people, very active on social media, maybe what I think can be a bit of a disingeuous air about their faith sometimes ("Y'all, God is just SO GOOD!" IYKYK) - I hate to put that on them but I don't think I'm the only one to see modern worship-leader types that way sometimes. And I definitely wasn't wrong in this case. While being worship leaders, they were also active in a local alternative rock scene - and a guy in a local rock band with some moderate success asked the wife to star in one of their music videos. According to the husband, that is the exact moment everything started to come off the rails. She basically became a groupie, suddenly wanting to go to all their shows and follow them on the road and hang out with the band. Husband did this with her at first but started to become uncomfortable about how close she was to the band members - when he asked her to back off the band, she refused - accused him of being a control freak and she started going on the road without him. It all went crazy downhill from there - their marriage dissolved a few months later. She renounced God and then tried to become an influencer, posting a lot of risque photos while working menial day jobs. That failed. She's now mid-thirties, has dated a string of losers, works minimum wage jobs and - unsurprisingly - is now on OF. I think it's clear there must have been some sneaky precondition lying under the surface, she already had a sickness in her heart that was undiagnosed - but once her own "I coulda been famous!" moment arose, it catalyzed into the full-on breakdown of her life.

In the Orthodox Church, one of our authorities on the subject of nihilism and post-modernism is the great father seraphim rose --- a highly recommend his wok Orthodoxy And The Religion Of The Future, where he goes in depth on the UFO and New Age phenoms -- I wonder if Carl is aware of this work, he would likely really enjoy it. I believe ultimately protestantism and post-modernism go hand it hand -- if we want to avoid the traps of modernism, we can't use a system which is essentially modern and scholastic.
