Did you feel nervous about starting solids??
Same!!! All of it 🤍
@@kristenpotter4533 so glad you relate!! 🙃
Sleep deprivation is baaaaad! The things I say during night feeds 😅 in the morning I'm often really embarrassed. As you said, talking about hard situations during calm moments is the key!
@@janerizzoli1150 Totally understand! There were some things that I said after a long night in those first few months where I sounded delusional 🤣
I just saw a video today where a mom came home drunk and ransacked her teenaged daughters room and they started screaming at each other and the mom said the daughter was a mistake!!😢 I was literally so heartbroken for the girl, I wanted to give her a big hug. I'm 33 weeks pregnant and can't imagine saying anything like that to my son
oh my gosh that is so sad I cannot even imagine 😥 how exciting for you though! Congrats 💗
All of what you said resonates with me. I bet if I had known these things when I had my baby, things might have gone smoother lol I bottle fed my son after 2 months of trying to breastfeed. For me and my husband, I got up with my son unless I was just so tired. I preferred that and also my husband was working 12-14 hour shifts doing oilfield work and I know he was exhausted. On the plus side, the days he was off he would stay up at night since he worked the night shift and would take over night time duties. I feel like it worked for us great but then I have friends that this wouldn’t have been a good idea for them. Thanks for posting another great video?
Love this input! Your partners job definitely makes a difference. My sister handled majority of night wakings too because her husband has to wake up at 4 am to go to work. Great point and thanks so much for watching ❤
Baby sleep is literally the thing that scares me the most about having a baby.
@@aria9615 understandable!! It seems like most babies go through phases where they sleep pretty good and then have a hard time so even though I’m sure there are some that don’t sleep well most of the time, I don’t think that’s the norm. You get through it though and they’re so precious, it’s all worth it 😊🫶
Great info! Wish I would had known that when my son was little. He wasn’t a good sleeper till 9/10 months old. Then we did the wind down before bed like you talked about. We still do that 10 years later and we kept him on a consistent schedule. Around that 10 months he would sleep about 7 hours wake up at eat then go back to sleep for another 2-3 hours. But that was with one long nap right after lunch time. We never let it run over the time we had set. At 11 years old now he’s in school and sleeps from 8:30pm-7am! And they sure need it 🙂
@@jamiestanley9234 thank you! Oh my gosh yes, having a routine to wind down helps so much! Shoot, that’s even helpful for me 😅 my son’s still not the greatest sleeper at 16 months but every time we go through a regression we figure out something, like the things i talked about, that makes it a little better
Great haul! 😊 cool finds. I never decorate for any season, only a little bit for Christmas. But this year I decided n to make diy door wreath from wire hanger 😅
@@janerizzoli1150 thank you!! It can be a pain which is why I kept it relatively simple for now 😅 ohh how cool!
@@anialewandowska8964 thank you so much!! Love those ideas! I would definitely decorate with more actual pumpkins if we lived in a house and not an apartment and had more space 🙃
Your mugs are sooo stinkin cute! And pillows 🤩🫶🏼 I love! I have many many pillows. It’s a problem lol for September-November I add touches of fall throughout like glass pumpkins and I change some of my candles and vases. Now Christmas 🎄 I go crazy! Christmas is my jam! My husband just made me two 6ft wood Christmas trees that I’m painting now! So excited! I really liked this video 🩷
@@jamiestanley9234 thank you I love them!! Ohhh how fun!! I think I’ll be more inspired to decorate more for Christmas this year too and I’m already excited 😆
Do you love to change your home decor to match the seasons or is it too much work? I fully support changing it or leaving it 😅
I don't know why I didn't watch this vid earlier. I watched almost all your videos, but this one hid somewhere 😅 i love the idea of focusing on habits rather than goals. You inspired me to make my own list of habits to kick, keep and create. I'm very curious how you did 😉 hope you achieved everything you planned! Maybe do an update at the end of this year? 😊
@@janerizzoli1150 awww yay!! lol as I was reading this, I was thinking to myself I need to revisit this video to check in on myself. I’m pretty sure one of my habits was to drink more water and I can definitely say I mostly am failing at that one to be honest🤣
To be fair, these kids probably know their folks don’t want them/ hate their guts. Kids can tell, and while they may pretend it doesn’t affect them it definitely will.
I felt this so much! Speaking of, I just gave my daughter her weekly vitamin k drops and STILL worry if I made the right decision sometimes.
@@asana_awakening 🙃it’s so tough but I just remind myself we’re all just doing our best and that’s enough for our kids. I’ve also heard people say “if you worry about being a good parent, you’re probably already a really good parent” and I think the same principle applies here ❤️
I first rolled my eyes when you started talking about distrusting doctors. But then actually, when I reflected on my own experience, I also had a misdiagnosed back injury, and it took ages until I got to see a back specialist medical professional to receive correct treatment, so now I see where you're coming from.
@@12Sanguine I wouldn’t say I don’t trust doctors, I’m just much more cautious after that experience. It gave me whiplash to hear I had a fractured spine and then to be told I didn’t a week later 🙃 I still take my son to a pediatrician but I did tons of looking and calling around before I landed on one I felt comfortable with. I’m so happy that you were able to get treatment for your back though! I unfortunately never got that and essentially had to figure it out in my own.
I was soooo tired. I heard from friends I would be tired but goodness gracious I was exhausted! I honestly had no previous experience with babies so I’m sure that didn’t help me. Also, everyone told me what I should be doing when I didn’t ask. I had two friends give me the best advice at different stages. My bestest friend of 23 years was watching me feed my 2 year old food and he would only want to eat fish. And I kept pushing veggies and finally she said that if he only eats fish right now that’s fine. He’s eating. It was eye opening! The second friend told me, after I asked her, to buy some cheap underwear when we started potty training and bypass the pull ups. Brilliant advice! He only ever had 2 accidents with the underwear. Most advice you can throw out along with the persons opinion 😂
@@jamiestanley9234 lol I had a good amount of experience with babies prior to having one myself and the exhaustion still hit me pretty hard 😅 ohhh love those pieces of advice! But totally agree that generally you can just smile, nod and move on with your day 🙃
Yea, the exhaustion! I heard about it but feeling it was hitting a brick wall. Mom brain was wild!
@@jacintasalt8731 ohhh I totally forgot about mom brain! Figures 🥴 I 100% would have included that! I used to think people were exaggerating because we all have brain farts but they for sure were not 🤣
Anything you wish you knew before you had your baby??
This made me laugh so hard
@@jadeslonaker1077 same! He loves it 😅
GENIUS 2 IN 1😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
@@Amlamekvids exactly! 🙌😅
Aww now thats cute when I was a little kid I was afraid of the sweep er I THOT IF IT COULD PICK UP DIRT IT COULD ME TOO.that little fellas cubby legs running just kills me.he is adorable or she even.kiss that baby and give that baby a 🫂 🤗 💋
@@wennykelley8600oh my gosh yes when he takes off running I cannot handle it 🥹 lol my niece used be be pretty terrified of the vacuum so you’re not alone 😅
I started tummy time with her on my chest, it was much less intimidating for her and for me 🫶🏼 Also, thanks for validating my decision to not follow a strict schedule. My intuition was telling me that just wasn’t right for us. On the co-sleeping topic, I want to co sleep so bad but my anxiety will not let me. With that being said we have done a lot of contact naps (she’s actually napping on me now) and she loves to lay in bed with me (I’ll only do this when I’m awake). I do think I’ll feel more comfortable with it as she gets older. For now I pull the bassinet directly up to the side of the bed so I can easily reach over to check on her or pick her up (this has come in handy a few times in the first month when she choked on chunky acid reflux) 🥺. We don’t plan to exclusively co sleep ever but I wish I wasn’t so scared for the nights I feel it’s needed. Talking to someone about my postpartum anxiety was such a good idea. The psychologist actually reassured me that everything I was experiencing was pretty common and that helped alleviate a lot of the weight/guilt I had been carrying. She was like you’re sleep deprived of course you’re feeling this way. Just someone telling me it’s okay and going to be okay did wonders. She also helped me understand that my husband is going to play an important role in my daughters development and encouraged me to let him be more involved and that I didn’t have to do everything by myself. My biggest regrets revolve around listening too much to what other people had to say. And not trusting my own motherly instincts/intuition more. I also regret not reaching out to my midwife sooner. It took me crying and breaking down for my husband to text my midwife that she needed to call me. I felt like a burden or like I was bothering her outside of working hours but it would have saved me a lot of suffering.
@@asana_awakening that’s amazing advice! I actually didn’t know that tummy time on the chest counter until a bit later 🙃 and yes 100% if you’re trying to push for a schedule and it’s not working out, it’s not worth the stress yet. Also love that you talked to someone about the anxiety. I think, like you said, sometimes you just need to hear that it’s normal and ok 🫶
@@thedesertdaydreamerour daughter is only 5 weeks, so like you said I think a schedule isn’t necessarily important until later. For now l just follow her lead! I also nurse her whenever she wants because she needed to gain weight. It’s tough on me but I see it as a short term sacrifice I’m willing to make.
@@asana_awakening ohhh ya that’s very soon for a strict schedule! I didn’t start implementing a schedule until around 4 months 😅 and totally! Nursing on demand is borderline a full time job, but for me at least it did start to get better after a couple months 🫶
The monkey curtain holders stop it right now 😭😭 so cute! The vision board idea is brilliant and am dedinitely going to be doing it to see how all the pieces look together for my babies nursery. And thank you sm for sharing links. Every little detail of the nursery is so lovely and sweet !
@@lilyjellybean oh my gosh right 😭 I was like there is no alternative option here! Yay so glad you found that helpful I think it makes a big difference and makes the whole process a little less overwhelming! I bet your nursery is going to turn out adorable 🫶
Thank you for sharing, this is super insightful. I really love your energy and am so glad I have found your channel!! P.s you are stunning and have such a glow to you 🩷🙏
@@lilyjellybean thank you so much for watching!! I’m glad you found it helpful! Aww staahhp you are so sweet 🥹❤️❤️
.... how is your "earliest" memory is at six? It's unrealistic. Also, being "shocked" by such stupid question is just a sign of your narcissism. Kids a terrible and parents have all the rights to went. End of story. Oh boo~hoo some brat gonna find out his parents regret having him, if he self aware enough maybe he can even change his bratty ways.
Whoa. Who stepped on your toes this morning?
I think everything you talked about were things I would look back on and change. I didn’t want to co sleep either but there were times when he was older, around 2, I would sleep with him when he was getting over sickness or a bad asthma attack. I was more worried in those times and get better being next to him. We started doing a schedule around 10 months old and we’re very consistent and that worked well till he was 3 years old. Really enjoy these videos and can’t wait for another one! Also, is it already cold where you live? It’s been consistently in the 80’s where I’m at and I’m ready for the fall weather to come.
@@jamiestanley9234 yaaaa I think most of these are classic new mom “mistakes” 🥴 I think I could be more ok with co sleeping as he gets older like you said around 2 and isn’t so small. I’m so happy you enjoyed it!! And it’s been consistently hot here and I am so over it 😂
anything you would have done differently with your newborn?? the only thing i really would have is going to therapy for pp anxiety
Omg! So beautiful and functional and minimal! ;) I don't have an option for a separate room for my son rn, we live in a really small apartment. But it's a great idea to wait with decorating until you know what your baby likes! For now, my baby's corner is ocean life themed ;)
@@janerizzoli1150 thank you so much 🥹 awww but I love that you did a themed corner 😊🙌
When I got pregnant for the first time, I got severely depressed and of course, you doubt such an important decision as becoming a parent when your mood is that low. I ended up having an abortion while these regretful parent things made me be more scared I'm not saying it made me do the abortion, I'm just saying it made me fear regreting becoming a parent more than I did already
@@rosea164 im sorry to hear you went through that. This is one of the reasons why i feel that type of content is not helpful. I would say the same for motherhood content that makes parenthood look like it’s sunshine and lollipops at all times. Parenthood can be very difficult but also so amazing and beautiful and we have to be prepared for both. Thank you for sharing your thoughts 🫶
@thedesertdaydreamer If I had not seen that many glamorous pregnancy videos, I would have been more prepared for the miserable time I went through
Do you still use the liners? I have heard a million times that they can block your pipes even if they are said to be biodegradable Also, they say they get crumbled inside the diaper, which is why many recommend using fleece blankets to make our own liners It is much easier to rinse a liner
@@rosea164 yes i do still use them 😊 these ones aren’t meant to go into the toilet so you use them to put the solids in the toilet and then toss the liner in the trash. So far I’ve had no issues with them getting crumbled in the diaper either 🙌
All in ones take much longer to dry I had them for the newborn stage, and I had to do 2 drying cycles, and I was still not satisfied with the dryness
@@rosea164 100%. I used to air dry mine and it would take 2x as long as all my other diapers so now I just dry them with the inserts.
@thedesertdaydreamer I live in Montréal and in summer, we didn't have much sun! Also, the small flat inserts that I use for my newborn get rough if not dried in the dryer
@@rosea164 same for my all in ones! No clue why 🙃
I am expecting my first baby and I promise my self to never blame him for my emotional immaturity…after reading some of those internet vents.
@@sofarsohappy aww love this. Congratulations!! There are 100% some tough moments but I always remind myself “it’s just a phase” 🫶
Wait…….i didn’t even know this was a thing. I also have definitely not heard of the egg cracking thing with toddlers. Now I don’t have Facebook or TikTok or any other social media so this might be why I haven’t heard of this. This makes my heart hurt 😔 I can’t even imagine not wanting my son. I just love him so much. Thanks for bringing this to light. Some of us would have no idea that this exists if no one talks about it.
@@jamiestanley9234 oh if that’s the case just don’t look any of it up 😳 it is all so sad. I’m a smidge sensitive but I actually teared up the first time I saw the egg thing because it just seemed so hurtful. And same! I cannot imagine life without my little boy 😭 thank you so much for sharing your thoughts 💛💛
Don’t worry I won’t look it up! I don’t get upset often but I have a good feeling those videos wouldn’t be for me. Have you ever seen the show What Would You Do? They’re so great but there’s a lot of scenarios that I can’t handle watching. Two episodes in particular deal with punishing a kid by putting hot sauce in his mouth and another is homeless people getting beat up. I had to end the videos pretty quick. It was too much for me
@@jamiestanley9234 yes! I don’t watch much tv but that is a show I’ll put on if I see it but I actually like it because I love seeing how amazing some people are (sometimes 🙃). Those things would bother me too though.

@@thedesertdaydreamer Definitely. I’m currently 9 weeks pregnant going through the nausea motions and it is pretty unpleasant. I keep trying to “fix” it or “cure it” like you said in the video. But I think acceptance is my only option at this point.
@@courage_to_learn oh my gosh i am so sorry. That really is a tough thing to go through and i was not prepared for how bad it was😞 I found taking things very easy and just allowing myself to relax as much as possible was the best thing.
